Reverie got a reaction from Heatman in Does the focus on multiplayer online take away from story telling?
I don't think it takes away from storyline. Destiny has a wonderful multiplayer portion, but they have told a great story in my opinion. Even Call of Duty has a storyline, now have I really ever played the campaign.... no, but I like the idea of the story they have. xD

I played D.va and Ash the most I think. I really rotated through most of the tanks though depending on my mood. I didn't really like the support class personally. Soldier was another good one to play for me, reminded me most of my typical game play on other FPS type games.

Another good reason why I don't buy these "live service" games anymore. These companies are desperate to draw you into these games as early as possible because its those early players that are easier to rip off. Frankly, it disgusts me because if you start playing a game early, your experience is likely going to be less polished that somebody who picks it up a few months later given how bad these games tend to launch.

Game publishers don't have a "quota". They want all of your money, as well as all of everyone else's money, they wanted it yesterday and want to give you nothing for that money in return. Any step away from that closer to actually offering a fun game that's worth the price is a begrudged frustration and only done as a last resort, and that includes making the game at all. Why else would they sell games broken to say "we'll fix it" later? Why else would they cut stuff out of the game to sell back to you as microtransactions, battle passes, deluxe editions, pre-order bonuses and DLC? Even games that are free aren't really free, they do that as an excuses to be even more egregious with all that bullshit.

Not to mention, Spyro is a good dragon, probably wouldn't eat humans hahaha.

Reverie got a reaction from Shortie in What games are you still looking forward to in 2023?
There were some switch games I thought I'd be excited for - but after looking more into them I'm not AS excited 😧
The only game coming that sounds worthy of excitement is Starfield. It looks like a lot of fun, there has been quite a bit of hype but I've heard it wasn't as great as people hoped for.

Yes! and since it has characters from Final Fantasy - I think that was their goal for it be semi-similar to having that group of friends that come together to fight darkness. It's a good theme and was great for me at a younger age.

Ave and welcome. It's always nice to see "new faces" so to speak.
This forum is very inclusive, and considering the population, there is never a question that can't be answered by at least one person. Gaming styles and preferences are all covered. For example, I am the resident classic gamer. I play the old stuff mainly from the N64 and back. But I also know RDR2 inside and out. So someone, somewhere, will know the answer to what you're seeking.

I like you said that about friends and fighting darkness. Reminds me of playing Final Fantasy 15, or actually any FF game where you have a group of friends that come together to fight darkness. I really like the friendship in FF15, and playing in an open world, drive around, and camp sites to wait for the morning while they cook and hang out. It brings a good feeling.

Kingdom Hearts always pushes you to remember to fight the darkness. The light always wins! It's one of my favorite messages. Also with that, it reminds you with friends anything is possible. I also have to agree with those who mentioned Animal Crossing. The NPC's are very positive even when they are being upset with you lol. You can consistently see growth within your island and that's encouraging!

Reverie got a reaction from Shagger in Gaming relationships
My husband and I met and what brought us together partially was our enjoyment of games. We enjoy playing video games together and enjoy discussing games. We don't really have arguments over it or anything. Towards the very beginning of our relationship and he lost his job during COVID he played games and didn't communicate with me for a week, it almost ended there. Discovered he was just upset and down on himself, after he realized I was not going to be put off like that we haven't dealt with that again. Obviously we worked out since we still decided to get married lol.
In my previous relationships I preferred if they were gamers because I wanted to have that hobby as something we both could be doing.

    Hey there,
I'm Reverie! I'm 31 and I enjoy video games. Kingdom Hearts is what got me started, but I enjoy FPS and MMORPG's now a days. Looking forward to getting to know you all in the community! 🙂
