  1. Agreed. Load times suck. I'm playing the game because I'm amped. And when I'm amped I'm amped. If they can't cater to that, I may just turn it off when I lose interest. So that's annoying. The garage N64 I've alluded to in other posts does that. Sometimes it just doesn't turn on. Pain. 😞
  2. I don't know how you people set a PC to play through a TV screen and frankly don't really care to. I know my sister's husband is big on it, we used to even browse the internets sitting in his living room, using the TV as a screen. Which was wild. For me, a PC screen is good enough.
  3. San Andreas was good in many revolutionary ways - the different aspect of crime from the previous iterations, the fact that you get to roam and entire state rather than a city. To say it ignited the community though? I'd have to question where you were for Vice City, or even III (the latter being my favorite of the series, though San Andreas is the most recent I've played.)
  4. I'm no good at them, but I have 100% played them, as a Basketball fan in general. They're pretty good and something I wish I could get more time to practice and get better at as I can see I'd probably thoroughly enjoy them - especially on some kind of season mode. But alas, I've only played with my wife's younger brothers, who rip on my unfamiliarity with the controls (they're 19 year olds, being 19 year olds.)
  5. I'm much the same. I don't put any stock in e-sports, and find the whole concept pretty embarassing for the players. I like Team Liquid though....Basically because of Ken Hoang...And because I'm a Survivor fan...And because Ken Hoang was on Survivor Gabon... Nevermind.
  6. I would say it's probably The Curse of Monkey Island on PC. It's an all-time favourite - now that I've got it from GOG I've been playing it a lot too.
  7. LOL. I broke my brother's PS2 in like 2002! 😛 It wasn't rage, but it's the only thing I broke. My parents were out with my brother and his wife when I was like 13 and my sister was like 11 and they left us at my brothers house. So we were playing his Playstation. During the time they were out my Mum called to check on us. I ran to answer the phone and the controller cord had somehow wrapped around my foot. So, I get up, run to the phone and pull the Playstation off the table, the disc tray broke as it did a face plant. Wasn't fun.
  8. The N64 and Gameboy Colour were my childhood. N64 for summers at home, our living room had a sliding door that lead out to the pool. So having friends over for a swim in Summer, and running inside for some Super Smash, or Goldeneye, or Mario Party. They are some of my best memories. Also, constantly playing Pokemon Yellow, Red, Blue, Gold and Silver on Gameboy.
  9. I've got to wonder though, how costly it would be to get around said licensing issues. I mean, if they want to go 'all in' on this console and do it right surely there'd have to be some content like this put in. I know Nintendo no longer own Banjo-Kazooie either, but it'd be cool to have that as well.
  10. Controller. All the way. I haven't played with the wheel as it was a thing since and when I dropped away from gaming entirely, and also I'm a massive luddite who rejects change in every way it comes. So yeah, control.
  11. I remember playing Doom on PC but I don't remember much about it, which probably means there were better games. I do remember that Quake was better though. I mean, come on, that NIN soundtrack. I mess with that game and want it from GOG.com immediately. 😛
  12. I basically just listed my childhood favourites. I doubt we'd ever see NBA Courtside seeing as though the company (Was it called LeftField Productions?) shut down. 😞 I never played StarFox.
  13. Thank you so much, Dylan and DC. Enjoying the stay so far for sure.
  14. I recently brought Turok 2: Seeds of Evil on N64. I've looked up the controls and I still can't grasp them. I can understand them, I just can't really get my head around it. 🤣🤣
  15. See, I went with Yoshi who had very similar pros and cons. For battle though, Bowser was always the one people would fight for. Eventually we had to ban it. 😛 I was always a DK guy myself.
  16. 'American Gladiators' Eyeing Another Revival The competition series last returned on NBC, a welcome space-filler during the WGA strike. American Gladiators could stage another comeback. Rights holder MGM Television is developing a revival with co-creator John Ferraro, and Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg onboard as executive producers. Read on: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/american-gladiators-could-come-back-seth-rogen-producing-1132786 I know this is older news (like two months) but I think we should use this as a bit of a progress thread for rumors we hear and such. It's funny, because a few months before this was announced I said on a reddit thread that now is a better time to bring Gladiators back than it was 10 years ago. We have the success of shows like Beastmaster and Ninja Warrior. Gladiators is along the same vein, but so much more dynamic. I only got into the American version (2008) earlier this year though. I was looking on DailyMotion for the Australian version to show my kids. Regardless of version. I'm so excited. Who else is excited?
  17. Playing over watching 1,000,000 times out of 1,000,000! 🙂 Watching is okay, I guess. In the right environment. I'm only really a fan of Basketball anyway, so at least it's not something boring as like Golf, or Soccer (I'd love to watch Baseball though, even though it's not really a thing in Australia.) But playing Basketball to me is always the best option. 🙂
  18. Faith is everything to me, and there is a difference between Faith and Blind Faith. Faith is believing with evidence that you can observe (things like miracles of Science confirmed by one's holy book and mainstream Science, logic and being able to see points for the greater good.) I have that. And Islam is that for me. Allah (swt) revealed to us the Qur'an, and we have the Scientific miracles of the Qur'an, revealed 1400 years before mainstream Science confirmed them. For instance, the entire field of Embryology. So I have faith, and that's a brief synopsis of what it is to me. But it's not blind faith, before anyone tried to ride that wagon as the debate surely ensues.
  19. Honestly, me finishing a game fully is pretty rare. I stray when they going gets tough as a matter of routine. But sometimes a game will really hook me and I am in! 🙂 Or if I'm playing a game with someone else that helps me stay committed as well. That's just clocking games. As for getting 100% of 100% of everything. Yeah, if I can I'll feel accomplished, but I don't need to do it.
  20. As tacky a game as it was, The House of the Dead: Overkill The end of the game had me and my friend when we were 19 cracking up at how hilarious it was. It's a pretty vulgar game overall. So if you can handle that, and being spoiled, or even just never plan on playing it - here it is:
  21. Alright. I still have my N64, and still play it. So I have a list, because my N64 is getting older and more unreliable and I don't know how much longer I will be able to use it. - Pokemon Stadium - Mario Kart 64 - Mario Party - Goldeneye - Gauntlet Legends - Diddy Kong Racing - Super Mario 64 - Pokemon Snap - NBA Courtside - Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Zelda: Majora's Mask There's more, but this is the base line of my happiness with it. I'm a purist and hope they don't. I agree about the party people thing, but party people hang in person.
  22. I love doing these. Not much is off-limits, but if a line is crossed I will let you know. 😄 I hope to give the best answers I can.
  23. Hi everyone! I just found this forum through FP and it looked pretty amazing, and like a great community so I thought I'd join. I don't give much about myself IRL away online, although it probably all comes out as I post. But just a basic run down. I'm a husband, father of three, nearing 30 years old. I'm not the most up-to-date with gaming, I do still buy the occasional game for my N64 though. I do think it'd be good to get back into though, given the ages my children are now at! And that's me! If you need anything else, I do have an ask me thread that I'm about to start.
