I'm gonna make her play RDR2, so that I can yammer on about it freely!😁

What game do you like watching (not playing) the most?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
RDR2. I can watch or play it all day long. Prior to when I started playing, I had been watching my girl play it for several months. Finally the itch got me and I started playing. As I've said before, the controls are a bitch to learn, but once you do they become instinctive. -
Do you situate your console horizontally or vertically?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Vertical. It offers more surface area to dispel heat. -
What do you miss most about your early days of gaming?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
The uniqueness of games. -
I hope the system isn't buggy. Is it disc or digital? Either way, enjoy.

I would want to see Red Dead Redemption remastered, and then released for systems like the PS4. Have them fix a lot of the bugs, and give it graphics like RDR2 has. I want to play it, but the graphics are a real turn off for me. Also I have seen a lot of spoilers on YouTube, so I know how the majority of the story turns out. But the characters look nothing like they do in RDR2. Dutch has aged far more than any human should have between the two games, as far as the timeline goes. I think RDR takes place 8 years after RDR2, if I remember correctly. Correct me if I'm wrong. And John just looks weird.

What do you want gaming to be like in 20 years?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
That sounds boring as hell. Ignoring the fact that I'm a classic gamer, I would beg for antique systems. Either that or beg to be shot. -
An enemy doesn't switch sides. They use every opportunity they can get to cause you harm.

There are some that are at the beach here in the states. Coney Island in NY is one. Granted it's not Six Flags, but it's still pretty good size.

My coffee has to be black too. And brewed STRONG. I'm talking rocket fuel that could get you to the Andromeda galaxy in 5 minutes strong. My Coffee: "Warp speed don't got shit on me!"

What is something that scares you that you know is bullshit and impossible? Ever since I was a child, I've had this fear that when we die, we are still fully conscious. 99% of our body doesn't work anymore, but we can still hear, see, and feel. Being lowered into the ground sealed in a box would be enough to drive a person beyond insane. Alone in the dark with nothing but your thoughts. But cremation would be beyond excruciating because they don't stop roasting you until even the smoke is burned down. And an autopsy? Don't get me started. I know it's a bullshit fear, but it's something that has stuck in the back of my mind my entire life. So what's yours?

What I always wanted done was my body laid out and burnt like several cultures did in the middle ages. A funeral pyre. But the only place that is currently legal here in the states is Colorado. It came up before the state senate here, but Parsons rejected it and the senate agreed with him the last I knew. So my only options are burial or cremation. So I want my ass cremated. I'm claustrophobic beyond belief, and the idea of being locked in a box, dropped in a hole, and having 6' worth of dirt and rocks piled on top of me is something I can't stand. The mere thought of it gets my anxiety running on overdrive even now. I know I could leave my body to science, but fuck that. I'm not even an organ donor. So unless Missouri legalizes a funeral pyre before I die, cremation is where I'm headed.

There's no guarantee you'll get the email though either. Digital means are not perfect means.

Trust me, I wouldn't. If I was in the mood to drink raw sewage I would just grab a Coke. HOT COFFEE AND COLD DIET PEPSI FOR LIFE!!!!

Would you die to protect an animal?

We have the responsibility to treat them with kindness and respect. Maybe not to the degree I go to, but that doesn't negate the fact that they deserve it. I place their lives above my own. Most will call me insane for that. A few may respect that. But it is what it is. To each their own. What are the most important things in a game?
The Blackangel replied to Euronymous53's topic in Gaming Forum
An emotional connection to the character you play as, if we're talking about current gen games. If I feel no emotional connection to my character, I get bored quickly. It's part of the reason Skyrim and Witcher 3 never got their hooks into me. No emotional connection. If we're talking about classic games (my bread and butter) then there's not going to be an emotional connection. So story and plot are paramount. It has to have an engaging story. But that's true for any game regardless of when it was made. You have to be drawn into the game. To lose yourself in that world. Otherwise, it's pointless for one to be playing it. -

The voice actors for RDR2 didn't just do voices. They were also film actors. Rockstar filmed them acting out almost the entire game, and then digitally edited the film to place the character over the actors for the game. It was a massive undertaking (and a risky one at that), but proved to be a risk worth taking, as it was one of the most successful games they have ever released. If we're already at the point of filming the game, and just editing the film to put a digital image of a character over that of the actor, then I just wonder how we can even go any further in games, or gaming in general. -
If the music on the game would go in and out of tune in a slow kind of way, or just out of tune as it slows down and stops, that would add to the game. Otherwise, the music just takes away from the experience. All the horror games I play are silent, and that makes them more of a horror experience.

There are several games like that. It's all based on a score count and not a level progression. There's nothing wrong with that, as a lot of people love those games. I'm a huge Galaga nut. I play the game all the time. Mainly on my GBASP. The limited narrative of classic games is part of their charm. It's less complicated which often allows you to get right in there and go for the gold, so to speak. But linear games aren't for everyone. The majority of the ones that play them is those of us who need the nostalgia of a simpler time. Whether that was a good time for the individual or not, is another story.

Oh the horror! Oh the horror! But whatever the result is, make sure your son is safe. Maybe he should stay with his grandparents the next few days until you know?

There is no such thing as security online. Even if you surf the surface web through TOR and use a VPN, you're still not secure. Someone is always watching, and hackers are getting more and more skilled every minute. The pentagon, FBI, and CIA have all been hacked more than once. And their infrastructure is some of the most heavily guarded and well protected in the world. If their top secret files were released to the public, that would constitute treason on the part of the one who leaked them, and would warrant an immediate "kill on sight" execution to prevent further leakage. There's most likely some government asshole (🖕fuck you you bastard🖕) who's watching me type this right now. They have programs designed and built specifically for them that allow them to watch people online in real time. They use specific terms to search for and spy on what they deem to be suspicious activity or suspicious sites. I doubt they care much about a video game forum, as they probably think we're all a bunch of angsty 12 year olds. But there's nothing they can't do. And there's nothing they won't do.
