  1. If you save two guys from being bitten by a snake and the guy from his own jaw trap, they will get you whatever item you want from the store they're sitting in front of. If I had to pick one, I would say the guy near Flatneck Station where Rev Swanson is. He sits outside the gunsmith in Valentine, and when he sees you, you can get a free gun. I always get the Springfield, as it's my go to gun. All that said, I have watched them die, and listened to them cry in pain. Despite enjoying that IRL, (remember, I'm a clinically diagnosed sociopath) I feel some guilt for not saving them. Also there's people who are minding their own business that are random encounters. Like the guy trying to get something out of his horse's hoof, the guy admiring plants, or guys that are panning for gold. They're all really friendly, but you can kill them. If and when I do that, I feel kinda guilty. I used to kill the gold panning guy when he found a piece. But it's just a $25 nugget. So it's not really even worth it, unless you desperately need the cash for some reason. It's kind of a "Why the hell did I do that" sort of situation.
  2. Despite predominantly being a Nintendo fan, I play Sega Genesis quite a bit. Systems from the N64 era and back are what I play on the most. I'm a classic gamer, and always will be.
  3. I used to buy Tips & Tricks every month. It had a section of all kinds of codes and cheats for games from every system at the time. NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Game Boy, Game Gear, and others. It also had a lot of really great articles.
  4. I have several plastic tubs that I keep mine in. They all have a lid, and are marked as to what system the games inside are for. In total I have somewhere around 10 tubs full of games. The systems I have in tubs are NES, SNES, Game Boy/GBA, N64, PS1, PS3, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Atari 2600, and a couple others with random games. I don't really play PS2, but that's just because I missed the entire PS2 era, for reasons I won't get into.
  5. Castlevania and Double Dragon on NES were great trilogies. Arguably, DKC on SNES was a great trilogy. I have grown to hate the games, despite having beaten the first two. I have the third one, but have never played it. I only got it to complete the set. @Rain Dew has DKC 64, but I haven't played it either. I'm curious about it, but haven't ever felt the urge to dive in. We also have DKC Tropical Freeze for the Switch, but that one is entirely hers. If it doesn't have Mario (originally called Jump man) climbing ladders to save a princess, then I have no real interest.
  6. I would say Arthur and Lenny in RDR2. It shows a love that only sees two men who platonically care deeply about one another. There's a love there that few ever find. It's one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen, both in games and IRL.
  7. Yes I have gotten emotionally involved in a game. I grow attached to the characters in RDR2. Arthur Morgan is like the father I never had. Hosea is like a caring uncle. Susan is a hardass mom that I never had also. Everyone else is cousins and friends that have become family.I feel all the hardships that they face. I have lived the way they live, for a few different reasons. I cry when Hosea and Lenny are killed. And I bawl like a baby when Arthur dies. I didn't cry when my own father died, nor did I cry when the only person who ever cared about me died, which was my grandmother. It's why when I play the game, I don't ever go past chapter 4 anymore. I just don't have it in me to see those things again. I can't imagine a more emotional game. Or maybe I just don't want to.
  8. I have 3 ROM-Hacks that are fan-made games. Zelda: Ancient Stone Tablets Zelda: Parallel Worlds Zelda: Goddess Of Wisdom They're great games with one exception. They're way too fucking difficult. I've been playing Goddes Of Wisdom for about 5 years now, and so far only been able to make it to the third dungeon. The way it's scripted is nothing but pure bullshit. For example, with one boss, the only hit the does any kind of damage is a spin attack. Then there's when they put a boss from Link To The Past in the third room of a fucking dungeon, and you have almost no hope whatsoever of beating it. I honestly believe the ones who made it never had any intention of it being beaten. It's that damn hard. And Goddess Of Wisdom supposedly isn't even the hardest one of the three. I've heard it said that the hardest is Parallel Worlds. If people want to make ROM-Hacks and fan made games, I say go for it. But don't make it so goddamn hard that no one can beat it.
  9. To be honest, I never really noticed any nudity in the game, despite the trailer listing it. As a side scroller (my favorite style) it's a really fun game. The graphics are really close to what we would see on the SNES. Which is another bonus point for me. The storyline isn't something I really care about all that much, despite it being intriguing. All in all I like it. But I also like Nickleback, despite the world hating them. I truly enjoy their music.
  10. I've been playing the NES since 1986, a year after it came nationwide out in the western market. The range of games was so vast, and the uniqueness of games on the system so wild in concept, the NES could keep anyone entertained for years. In my opinion, it was the best system ever released.
  11. I don't know what to expect, but there's something that irks the hell out of me. Why is it ok to make a game portraying jesus in a high light, but no one ever makes a game of this nature about Mohammed as he relates to Islam? Or Buddha as he relates to Buddhism? And so on. I guess considering that I'm Satanic, I can see these things when no one else can. Or chooses not to. Leonardo da Vinci was able to walk on water. He build shoes that bouied his weight perfectly, allowing him to walk across ponds, lakes, and fountains. So the whole "walking on water" thing is nothing more than a fucking joke.
  12. In no particular order: PROTAGONISTS --- Link (Legend Of Zelda series) Squall (FF8) Jason & Sophia 3rd (Blaster Master on NES) Arthur Morgan (RDR2) Dante (Dante's Inferno) Kratos (God Of War series) Mega Man (Mega Man series) Q*Bert (Q*Bert) Kyle "Blackthorne" Vlaros (Blackthorne) Conker (Conker's Bad Fur Day) Kazooie (bird Banjo Kazooie) Senua (Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice) Alucard (Castlevanis Symphony Of The Night) Tyler & Alyson Ronan (Tell Me Why) ANTAGONISTS --- Ganon/Ganondorf (Legend Of Zelda Series) Plutonium Boss (Blaster Master on NES) Shredder (TMNT series) The Goddamn Dog In Puppy Love (Earthworm Jim 2) Bowser (SMB series) Goro & Shang Tsung (Mortal Kombat series) The Great Mighty Poo (Conker's Bad fur Day) Really/Very Gnawty (DKC 1) Majora (Zelda Majora's Mask) Charon (God Of War series) Agahnim (Zelda Link To The Past) Death (Dante's Inferno) UNSURE OR BOTH AT THE SAME TIME --- The Antagonist (Hatred) Yes that's the name given to him. Arthur Morgan (RDR2)
  13. I play on a Switch Lite, and it does everything I need/want it to do. Also it's a lot cheaper than the OLED. If you're don't know how often you will be using it, or plan to use it sparingly, I say go for the Lite. You save money, yet still get an awesome system. And as of right now, the OLED and Lite are only physically different. There's no games that one can play that the other can't. But if you want the docking ability, then forget the Lite and go for the OLED. If you're wanting something only for portability, then go for the Lite. Also if you have a Switch already, and buy a new one for whatever reason, you can just click redownload on your Switch after you have logged into your account, and all your DDL's will download. If you have a massive library like me, you will probably have to click the redownload button more than once. Also you can transfer your save data from one Switch to another.
  14. I'm in the eShop a lot looking for any games that I think look good. A lot of them cost less than the $2 threshold that Nintendo was supposedly setting. But I do have to say that the amount of games is significantly less than previous years. So maybe it's been partially enforced, but it's not a total block as of yet. At least from what I can see.
  15. I've picked up a few more DDL's since this thread started. 16. Nintendo has always thought of themselves as "family friendly". Thus a lot of their games are made for children. But they do allow games aimed at adults as well. I doubt many 10 year olds are playing Skyrim or Witcher 3. The complexity of those games keeps them from being child friendly, as well as the content. So in most ways, yes thaty are too kid friendly, IMO. But they are starting to cater to adults a lot as well. FutureGrind is one of my favorites. But there's also things like Layers Of Fear, Remothered: Broken Porcelain, Assassin's Creed, Bleed, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, Fobia, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, Outlast, and Slender: The Arrival, just to name a few. Yes, several of the ones I've listed are horror games. To me, that alone just shows that Nintendo isn't always "family friendly" as they try to profess to the public.
  17. This was in the Darwin Awards 20 something years ago, but there was a guy who cooked some beans for dinner one night. After he ate he went to bed, but his bedroom had no ventilation. As he slept he kept farting all night. Eventually the methane in his farts suffocated and killed him. That's one of the weirdest I've heard. And also one of the funniest.
  18. I thought about mentioning Canada being to England what Puerto Rico is to the US, but decided against it.
  19. God: Behold! I have created Man! Angels: You fucked up a perfectly good monkey is what you did! Look at it, it’s got anxiety!
  20. There’s a lot of differences and just about as many similarities. A few differences include 1.) America uses the imperial system and Canada is metric. 2.) Canadians get their milk in bags, we get it in jugs. 3.) Pronunciation varies on many things. One of the most notable to me is the last letter of the alphabet. We say “zee” they say “zed”. 4.) Sizing is wildly different. Canada covers more land, but their population is 10% that of the US. Our population is roughly 350 million. Theirs, despite larger in land than us, is roughly 35 million. If you think about California and NY, we have more than them in 2 combined states. Actually I would almost be willing to bet that NY alone has as many people as Canada. 5.) They have either 5 or 6 major political parties, whereas we only have 2 major parties, and several minor ones. 6.) They have a prime minister, we have a president. 7.) Canadians, while not all rainbows and sunshine are generally quite friendly. Americans are entitled , greedy, and narcissistic. Off the top of my head, that’s all I can think of. There’s loads more, but those are the only ones that come to mind at the moment.
  21. Yeah that portrayal is the closest Americans have to knowledge of Scottish history. But most of us understand full well that Hollywood sensationalizes things, and fabricates things to make a movie that would sell better. People here honestly believe that movies like Braveheart are more documentary than movie. After Twister came out some neighborhood kids decided that they knew everything about tornadoes. The same with other movies like Jurassic Park and Braveheart. Americans are stupid. It’s that damn simple.
  22. “Ethics” is a pretty loose word. What I find ethical would for the most part be the exact opposite of your view. That much I can guarantee. Instead of ask if we share universal ethics, ask why we don’t already. I think the answer is because of individual outlooks that vary so wildly. I would sit back and watch someone in pain and let them suffer. You would try to help them. I would kill animal abusers. You would report them and let the cops deal with it. There’s literally nothing I won’t do to protect the few whom I care about. You most likely wouldn’t kill, die, and/or take the rap for all of them.
  23. If a permanent purge wasn’t an option, then I would banish the entire right wing, fire the entire police force and restaff with new cops (our PD is corrupt from the bottom all the way up), and buy a monkey despite @Rain Dew telling me that I’m not allowed. I know that I’m a bitch, but damnit she’s denying me my monkey!
