Yeah, that's true. I am happy with the debit card because I can only spend my own money - I can't go beyond my limits. It prevents me from racking up any debt.

The thing with cheques is you don't necessarily have a way to ascertain if the cheque was fraudulent or genuine unless they made some calls to the issuing bank which may or may not be open during those said hours, making it a hassle for both consumers or business.

Well, I do have an Xbox One as well but my cousin mostly plays it except when I want to play Red Dead Redemption and when the PC version comes out, I won't play the Xbox One anymore.
