  1. Red Dwarf will always be up there, but also really loved Avatar: The Last Airbender/ Legend of Korra, Stranger Things, Brooklyn 99 and (older) Top Gear.
  2. I was always interested in this field. I went back to collage in my early 20's after being paid off from a horrible job to do a mechanical engineering course. We were always told about what jobs and particularly what apprenticeships were becoming available and it was an apprenticeship with this company that I successfully applied for.
  3. An additional PS+ discount is what brings the price down as far as I'm aware. I'm not sure if it's still active.
  4. It's impossible to tell. Atari 2600 games weren't made and sold like games today. It was a totally open platform, there were no licences. Anyone with the ability to develop and manufacture 2600 games could simply do so then sell them. It was more like Steam than a console as we know it today.
  5. I've changed the notification settings, so I'll see if that helps. To early to tell if that's made a difference at this point, but I'll let you know.
  6. I don't get these games. After at hard day at my ACTUAL job, I totally would willingly sit down and pretend to be doing another more tedious profession that has a famously high suicide rate, you know, for fun. So even at 24p, I wouldn't. It's like offering your own firing squad a tip.
  7. I think it's not that they're "doing away with them" and more they simply won't have any at launch.
  8. This is odd. I was already following VGR on twitter (scrolled down a retweeted the most recent articles, btw) but I never see them in my feed. Why is that?
  9. I actually could see this happening in the run to the release of Half Life: Alyx as a promotion, like a pre order incentive or something.
  10. Well thank you Crazy STD! Anyway, I nominate @StaceyPowers, @The Blackangel and @Executor Akamia
  11. Well, I work as a tradesman/engineer at dockyard run buy a multinational engineering firm and military contractor in Rosyth, Scotland. I mostly build, decommission, dismantle, repair, maintain and re-fit Royal Navy ships and until recently was involved with the build of the Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carries. I do enjoy my job, but now that the carrier project is over and it'll be a couple of years until the next major ship construction project starts, I'm kind of in limbo. It's likely I'll end up working off-site at some point as the company can't keep us employed to do nothing, but can pay the workforce off either as they need us. There are opportunities to advance in this company and travel, so I'll just have to try to take my opportunities as they come.
  12. Long story short, I've been busy. Between being back at work, the evening time responsibilities and how exhausted I've been as a result I just haven't had much time. I appreciate the concern but there's nothing to worry about. Hopefully things will get a little easier over the next few of days.
  13. I was once taken up a hill called Golgotha. Yes, I had a lot to carry and didn't wake up for three days afterwards, but there was a lot of people there to see me and it was nice to be the centre of attention.
  14. Honestly, you're borderline spamming here @StaceyPowers. Not every new slight deviation of a tangent necessitates a new topic. Nor do you have to tag every user each time you do so.
  15. Any game worthwhile has something in it that demands your input to get from one place to the next, to progress. If one is not in a place where such demands are welcome, then that's the place where one may not be in the mood to play video games. I get that you find games so comforting because video games are the not only ultimate distraction, but achieve that through empowerment making video games potentially a very easy way to subdue depression. I love games for the same reason, but that's not always the best solution for me.
  16. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, mostly because I genuinely did have an annoying owl to explain my life goals and a fairy to drive them into my scull no matter how many times I'd heard it before.
  17. Well said. The PC "master-of-puppets-is-the-only-master-I-would-ever-listen-to" race are deluded. Seriously @skyfire, I'm on the verge of questioning whether you have even the first clue about what you're talking about.
  18. Gaming isn't something I tend to do when I get like that, or at least I don't deliberately choose to game because I get like that. I'm more likely to don my headphones and listen to some music, maybe even go for a walk as I do. If I want to game, but feel like I can't be dealing with any more stress, I'll replay a game as I find that familiarity more soothing and comforting that playing a game I don't know as well.
  19. A smart toilet, thus eliminating the risk of dropping your phone in the bowl.
  20. Why don't dolls/action figures have nipples?
  21. It appears Alienware are keeping the specs' close to their chest, but a 1200p screen that size should pretty sharp provided the machine has the guts. However, I don't see this doing well. There's been gaming tablets like the Razer Edge Pro and the failed Steam Machine concept and these PCs imitating consoles never catch on because they're too expensive. And this is Alienware, they make Razer as a brand look humble.
  22. Well written, relatable characters and an interesting world and setting are more important that a complex, unique plot in a video game, more so than a movie or TV show. I'm not saying complex plots are bad things, they really aren't and can enhance a gameplay experience greatly. I just feel that connecting with characters yourself control, rather than just observing them and exploring a world through your own eyes and actions rather just seeing it shifts the priorities that video games need to take as storytelling experiences.
  23. A long living, spell casting, sword welding, monster killing badass with a seemingly endless trail of beautiful woman along his path. What do you think my answer is?
  24. I like to plan backwards. Repeat in my head what has happened except I act with the benefit of hindsight in such a way that makes me come off as smarter, more heroic or sexier. It just makes me feel better.
