What in-game food or beverage would you most want to try IRL?
Shagger replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I mentioned a while ago that my better half did indeed buy cookbooks themed around The Elder Scrolls and Fallout, so I have tried Rad-Away, Skooma, Yao Guai Steak and Stimpaks. Decent eating and even better drinking 😁. -
I finally conceded, and have giving up on Resident Evil...

Just for clarities sake, here's an image of the actress in question: That comment bothers me for two reasons The actor (Hannah John Kamen) is English and daughter to a Nigerian father and Norwegian mother. She's not Hispanic. All it took is a quick internet search. Why should an actor's ethnicity matter in this circumstance anyway? I haven't seen the movie (and most likely won't given it's mediocre review scores) so I can't comment, but isn't his/her performance more important? If the actor in question delivers, that's what matters. I'm not a fan of what's often referred to as "white-washing" (although in this case it's more "darker-skinned washing", that's why I don't really like the term), that being changing a characters ethnicity without reason, but it really shouldn't matter in this case as Jill doesn't have to be pure white for the character to work in the plot. You can't, for example, cast Samuel L. Jackson as colonial slave owner or Ryan Reynolds as a Tibetan monk, that just wouldn't work, but in this instance I don't see why it should matter. -

@Candy Stick I would regard the truth that you only ever talk an out Resident Evil and haven't little to nothing on any other thread to be a little concerning, but that doesn't change the fact doing so is well within the rules. So @Crazycrab, please lay off him. If that is what he want to talk about then that's what he wants to talk about, it's not up to you, me or anyone else where his interests lie. Beside, it's not like @Candy Stick is bumping the topic all on his own, there are several people who post on it. I get what your saying and I do agree that @Candy Stick should branch out a little more, but I'm not going to lock this topic just because you feel it's run it's course. -
And there you go, word from a reliable source. Obviously they're not even gonna attempt to estimate the time of release at this point, but we now know a new GTA is being made.

The switch actually has a pretty stellar reputation when it comes to ports. Games run well on the system. Of course the hardware is not a powerful as a PS4, XB1 and certainly not the new generation, but ones sense of gaming cannot be boiled down to technology alone. It's about the experience, and the Switch delivers a great experience. That's why over 100 million people have bought a Switch, for the experience, not the tech. It's ironic that console you referred to as a "toy" was choses by people because they have a far more mature perspective on what gaming is supposed to mean than you own. You say "sales numbers don't matter", but they actually do because those sales tell you (roughly) how many support the system and play thier games on it. You try to downplay the significance of that because it's an inconvenience to ridiculous claim you're trying to make that Nintendo have a small share of the market, when that is clearly not the case. Nintendo are, and likely always will be, a major player in the video game industry. I understand why that why that upsets you. Nintendo is a company that has a major role in the element of you life you have a great passion for dose not really cater to you, so you have to fix it in your head that the fact they're popularity isn't real. Well, I suggest you grow up and realize it isn't all about you.

Do you find video game reviews or video game essays more insightful?

That would be fine. I'm a moderator, so I can assure you if want to recommend a book, you can recommend a book. It's well within the rules to recommend games, movies, TV shows, music and books. What we DON'T allow is posts that promote something that hasn't been approved as an affiliate. If you want to recommend a book, you totally can, just not as an affiliate. Please check our Forum Rules and Guidelines for the full details. Let me know if you need anything else on tis issue. I will be happy to answer any questions you have. -
Welcome to VGR. I'm sure you will enjoy yourself here. We're similar age with a similar level of experience with games, so I feel this is gonna go well. And besides, I don't want to know a gamer who doesn't love Japan! On a more official capacity, anything you want to ask or know about, let me know.

You're right about about thing. Nintendo did indeed start out as a toymaker, but whether you knew that or not I highly doubt that's why you came to that conclusion. Even if you did, Nintendo as we know is not the same company, and we both know that. They've been at the forefront of gaming hardware innovation for decades and are respectable for what is arguably is the biggest influence on the culture of gaming than any other company. Yes, thier games and indeed consoles are not for everyone, but denying how important they are and influence they've had just because they don't suit your tastes is very immature. Nintendo do thier own thing, to the extent that it's hard to say your wrong when you say Nintendo don't compete directly with Sony or Microsoft. I really do see what you mean, but that does not mean they aren't meant to be taken seriously. I see loads of youtubers, influencers and journalist that talk about Nintendo, sometimes exclusively, all the time. The reason you don't about know about them is because you don't look. You don't want them to "bust your bubble" and realise what you want to believe about Nintendo isn't true. But guess what, it isn't true. Here's my theory, and it is just a theory. Remember that because if you get your panties in a twist again and call this this an "attack", all you'll prove is that this stuck a nerve, something that wouldn't happen if I was wrong. Think about that before you reply. It's a challenge to your point, not you yourself. I feel the need to add that disclaimer now as you can't seen to tell the difference nor take any criticism. Right, now that's out of the way. Deep down, you know Nintendo is a major player in the world of video games (I mean, that's a straight up fact.), but you as a gamer don't feel catered for as Nintendo games and consoles tend not to suit your needs and tastes, and there is nothing wrong with that. Like I said, Nintendo isn't for everyone. But still, the problem must be them, right? They don't matter you, you don't matter them, so your ego won't allow to accept any possibility other than that they don't matter at all, and that has to be true for everyone, right? Nintendo is popular, and not just with a younger crowed, and for legitimate reasons. The quality of thier 1st party titles, the flexibility of the Switch console itself and the unique feel, nostalgia and experience of playing Nintendo that just doesn't exist with other companies. That's something I shouldn't have explain to someone who knows gaming.

No doubt the PS5 is selling more, but don't thank that's the end of the story. XBox banding is doing very well thanks to Gamepass and it's compatibility with PC. Hell, I have have pass and never use it on console, and I know I'm far from alone.

@Kid Dynamite I've merged your thread with an (and one of several) already existing thread. I understand that you're new so it's quite possible you weren't aware, but there is a search function for the forum you can use to check if threads already exist for something. The search bar can be found in the top-righthand corner of the screen.

Welcome to VGR. Don't be concerned about your age, I feel that can only add to what you bring to the community. Anything you want to ask, please do.

Shall I grab a stepladder and explain it to you face to face?

The vote doesn't close until February 5th, you're jumping the gun.

With all due respect, it's not up to you to decide when matters like this are resolved. And in this it's not up to me either. It's @The Blackangel who voiced the complaint in first place, so when she sees how this has played out and is ready to respond, I'm sure she will understand this was all a big misunderstanding. In the meantime, do not attempt moderate this forum yourself. Not only does it not help the staff do thier jobs and in fact makes it more difficult, it's against the rules and clearly stated as such in the Forum Rules and Guidelines;

I've re read them serval times and I simply do not get how those post were in reference to what @Justin11 said in his one and only post in this thread, a post you never quoted nor made clear you were referencing to; So either you've been trying to annoy @The Blackangel or the hap-hazard, spurious nature of the way you post has, in this case, made it difficult to understand what your talking about. For your sake, I'm gonna assume the latter and give you the benefit of the doubt. However, myself, @The Blackangel nor anyone else could possibly be blamed for getting confused. One of you posts is a quote from @Reality vs Adventure that was clearly in refence to @The Blackangel directly; And this was your reply, talking about some "dude" in the third person without making any reference to @Justin11 or anybody else, thus the subject of the conversation didn't change. It was still the same person, @The Blackangel. In other words, it's you who cocked it up. And nobody owes you an apology for misunderstanding. In the future, please just take a moment to read what it is you posting before posting it. Then read it again once you have whilst there's still time to used the "edit" function to correct any errors.

This has gone far enough, and it's you clearly need to showing some respect. Even after @The Blackangel made it crystal clear to you perfectly politely; You still persisted by using male pronouns in reference to her: I know you were referring to @Withywarlock in the original post @The Blackangel quoted; But it was still a quote from you that you clearly read and understood. And most importantly, the posts in the second image came after the others. That means there is only one possibility here, that you're doing this deliberately. So stop it immediately and apologise and even sooner. I don't want to see this crap from you again. Addressing someone by thier preferred pronouns is not a big ask.

Thanks for creating this thread as it's a useful idea. However, there is a problem. This thread needs updating as the games available with Gamepass change, but because regular member can only edit thier own posts within 10 minutes of posting them, this is gonna be difficult for you to work on you own. That's why it's my responsibility to keep the threads informing the forum about what's going on with Free Games with Epic, Games with Gold and PlayStation Plus up to date because only a moderator or site admin is actually able to do it. Still, like I said a similar thread for Gamepass makes sense. Send me a PM @Techno and we'll figure out how best to go about this.

I remember being pretty lost when I first tried Minecraft and I don't recall a tutorial.
