  1. Can't beat the origional, despite the kidna stupid ending.
  2. Yesterday Austin Evans (who I hadn't actully heard of untill now) posted an video where he got hands on with and did an analysis of the XBox Series X. I give Microsoft some credit they really did alow this guy to "bare it all" with the release still months away. It's a lot of information that you should see for yourselves but here is some of the points I found interesting: As we already knew the CPU is an 8 Core AMD ZEN 2 but what I don't think I knew before is that developers have an option to either enable the SMT treading for more threading for more threads or they can disable and get faster clock speeds which should help with optimization. The CPU is an AMD RDNA 2.0 with around 12 TFLOP's of performance, about what we expected. There is a 1TB custom SSD onboard and also as it turns out that port in the back is for is a proprietary external SSD that slot's in a bit like a PlayStation 2 memory card for storage expansion, my spider-sense tells me they will be quite expensive though. The new controllers aren’t much different, a few small ergonomic changes here and there but they are fully back-compatible with the XBox One Controllers (which are also forward compatible) and you can even use the same rechargeable battery packs so that's a plus. Like many, I was a little concerned about the shape but he shows in the video how it all fits together and cools and it actually makes sense. There are some other things about Ray-Tracing and HDR but it’s better explained visually. It's also interesting to note that today Sony announced that they will be doing a "Deep Dive" presentation into the system architecture of the PS5 so it will be interesting to see how the two stack up when put against each other. So what are your thoughts on Next Gen?
  3. I figured he was keeping her gay for the simple consistently. I don't think they really need to use the show to "spread LGBT awareness" and to be honest, The Last of Us is not really a great story to do that with. It's a society where along with these types of social and political stigma that come with it with regards to sexuality, race and so on has effectively broken down. Most people in this would happily kill you for a fresh pair of shoes, there are bigger, or at least more direct problems! That's why the game doesn't put hardly any focus on in it, hell the fact that Ellie is gay wasn't even addressed at all until the Left Behind DLC came out. Like I said earlier The Last of Us is a story about the relationship between Joel and Ellie and how it evolves as they journey together. We see Joel learn to love and care again, something he has been struggling to do since the loss of his daughter. Likewise we see Ellie, a young girl who is fiercely independent and stubborn learn to trust and open up to him. That's what the Last of Us is about, it doesn't need a ton of focus on Ellie's sexuality, at least not in this story. Now the sequel (judging from the trailers anyway) does seem to be putting a bit more focus on it but we don't know exactly how that's going play out yet. hope this helps: https://www.netflix.com/CancelPlan Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to listen to some music:
  4. You will need to log into your router. There should be a sticker on it with an I.P address, something like 192.168.1.1, along with a username and password (if there isn't, the password and username are usually admin by default). Open a web browser on your PC and type http:// followed by the I.P address to log in. One logged in, post a screenshot so I can take a look.
  5. Try power cycling the router. Turn it off, dissconect it from the socket, leave it for about 10 seconds then plug in and turn it back on.
  6. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was my favourite, especilly after Metal Gear Solid 2 which I thought was very convoluted.
  7. So what? As long as Konami still owns these IP's they’ll not be available on any platform except fucking Pachinko! Given Sony’s recent track record with 3rd party IP's like Marvel's Spiderman, The up and coming Final Fantasy 7 Remake and even several of Konami IP's in the past like Metal Gear Solid and Castlevania... Would you really prefer to see Konami continue to dick around with shit like this of over Sony exclusivity? I'd rather see Castlvaina in the hands of EA than Konami and I'm NOT joking! Konami selling their IP's to somebody, and I mean ANYBODY will be cause for celebration. Not to mention that they just announced that Horizon Zero Dawn, one of their first-party games is coming to PC (TOPIC) so it's likely they wouldn't be exclusive forever anyway.
  8. It's happened on a few occasions. It's complex and something I think I should discuss in future topics. Not to mention that to describe and further discuss these kind of moment's invites the possibility of spoilers. I think I will start a topic on this...
  9. Have you just been ignoring the giant Elefant in the corner? This game has been a PR disaster for Blizzard, right at the point when a PR disaster is the last thing Blizzard needed after the "blitzchung" controversy. It currently holds the lowest rated user score in the history of Metacritic for a number of good reasons. The quality of the game itself was, not entirely the reason for the backlash itself (it playes little different from the original). It's that before the game released they promised a whole raft of features like new cinematic style cutscenes that they didn't deliver. On top of that there connectivity issues which were compounded by the fact that even old players who never bought the reforged edition couldn't use the original launcher after the update, henceforth had the same issues. The worst thing though was the changes to the user agreement which basically killed the modding community for the game to protect their bottom line. The whole fiasco has been a long continuation of Blizzard giving it's fans because the middle finger and frankly... that is exactly what they deserve. When Overwatch came out everyone showered it with endless praise despite it bring a loot box casino whorehouse and we are all now suffering the consequences for Overwatch popularizing the format in mainstream, paid console and PC AAA games . Thank you Blizzard fans, Warcraft 3 Reforged is the present that YOU created by never calling this company out on any of their bullshit in the past... ENJOY!
  10. Depending on the style and genre you can prioritise one over the other. But I think (especially in modern times) what truly amazing games like The Last of Us, Metal Gear Solid 3, Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War or Witcher 3 do is, without compromise, both. That's not to say that their isn't games out that focus almost (if not all) on story or gameplay mechanics that I don't enjoy, but they tend to be niche and only grab a corner of the market.
  11. Unfortunately, I have the need to make it perfectly clear that is NOT intended as a topic for arguing console and PC fanboys. The next post even close to pushing that crap and I will request that @DC lock it immediately. If you want to discuss any potential pro's and con's of Sony allowing this particular game on PC that's fine. But keep the arguments civil, and rational. Thank you.
  12. So... What is it you want it to be exactly? The President building a wall to keep the infected out? The story of the Last of Us primarily about the evolution of the relationship between Joel and Ellie. If the HBO series isn't about them then it isn't an adaptation of the scorce material, it's whole other story set in the same universe.
  13. Skyrim with mods and a bit of Overload.
  14. Oh the possibilities! A modded horizon could be frigging nuts!
  15. It has just been confirmed in an interview with Hermen Hulst head of PlayStation's Worldwide Studio's and former lead at Guerrilla that, Horizon Zero Dawn, is coming to PC sometime this summer. Full interview In my opinion, this is one the best games of this generation and I'm so glad it's being ported so that PC players can experience it and what Guerrilla's Decima engine is truly capable of. I'm not normally an advocate for console exclusives coming to PC since I believe that exclusives do truly serve a purpose in the industry but in this case, it makes perfect sense. It's been out on PS4 for 3 years and has long since plateaued and it will get people more excited for Horizon’s up and coming sequel on the PS5. So what are your thoughts, are you excited about this announcement and do you think Sony is doing the right thing bu opening up their IPs to PC and possibly other platforms in the future?
  16. The worst... Really?
  17. I was actully thinking more 2D animation, in the same style of Netflix's Castlevainia or Attack on Titan or somthing.
  18. R3 (right stick) switches perspective.
  19. You can switch to thrid person.
  20. I don't see these two adapting to live action very well, they would kick ass in amimation though! On the topic at hand, for many of the same reasons dicussed in this thread I'm not really that exited. The Last of Us made such great use of the interactivivity of the media to tell it's story and immerse the audience. That's something a TV show or movie could never really do.
  21. Carmageddon, Descent, Magic Carpet 2, Discworld and Dungeon Keeper. I actully still play some of these games today!
  22. The Last of Us... because THAT'S what humanity deserves!
  23. Unfortunitly the PS3 is probably the worst port of all of them, if you can play on PC that's the one to go for since there are fan patches and console commands that can get you past most of the game's problems. Don't worry about the controlls, I use an XBox controller on PC with the game and it works just the same as the console.
  24. The DLC's for The Witcher 3, Skyrim and Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds are examples of great DLC's that add substantially to their base games at a very reasonable price. But by far best value DLC I have ever seen isn't technically a DLC but a mod. It's called "Legacy of the Dragonborn" for Skyrim. It's basically a treasure hunting mod that adds: A Museum to Solitude that has a unique display point for every unique item in the base game, DLC and even some other mods. Lore friendly new skins for most unique items and books. Hundreds of brand new lore-friendly items to find, collect and display. Multiple new fully voiced NPCs. Multiple New dungeons and questlines. A new Player home in the Museum. A new guild with a questline new skill tree's. Long story short it's about the size of and adds as many if not more hours to the game as the other 3 DLC's combined. The cost, absolutely nothing!
  25. Being a Bethesda game It's got allot of bugs, are you playing on console or PC?
