Another politician wants to ban sale of Grand Theft Auto, other violent video games

Ugh, more politicians who believe violent video games are the reason for bad things happening. In this case, it's about carjacking being on the rise, and Republican Marcus Evans wants to prohibit the sale of violent games that promote criminal activity.

And yet no mention of the other violent media we see on tv and in movies. The law he wants to change was established in 2012, and that law prohibited the sale of violent games to children, but now he wants to ban all violent games that promote this type of stuff.

And the game has started once again. Most of the killings and highjacking isn't always based from a game, I mean they all doing it from gangs and they have no money ti even have a gmaing console to play GTA on. I think that this will pass and they will forget about it.

Politicians always blame every one else for their own shortcomings - how about you fund and arm your security forces better? On top of that, train them to actually be good at their jobs and not just harass innocent citizens.

I'll make sure to let them know how I learned to freeze people solid after playing Mortal Kombat. And I'm curious how many outlaw gangs are roaming around, robbing trains, robbing banks, robbing wagons, and chewing cocaine gum?

If games cause violence and crime, then I can blame misspelled words on my pencil.

"Besides addressing carjacking, the bill also changes the definition of a “violent video game” to one in which players “control a character within the video game that is encouraged to perpetuate human-on-human violence in which the player kills or otherwise causes serious physical or psychological harm to another human or an animal.”

Great. This means we're left with golf. Wait a minute, a golf club is a weapon.

Tiddlywinks is safe, right?

So is baseball out of it too - oh wait, baseball bats are a weapon too! Oh I know, let's try Tenni - what do we even play then?
