Yeah that design is not great, that's for sure. They claim it was so heat can be dispersed easier, but I'm sure they could have figured out a better solution. Then again, the PS5 isn't too far behind it imo. That thing is going to take up a ton of space. These new consoles are going to be tough to place around your tvs. And yeah, the exclusives also going on PC is kind of annoying, but the Series X doesn't necessarily need them to survive. They will have backwards compatibility plus game pass, which is what they're main focus seems to be on these days anyway.

True. I'm not saying right away though, maybe sometime down the line. Microsoft has closed many studios before, of course none as big as Bethesda, but we don't know how things will be in the next few years. Anything could happen.

Has anyone heard or played of this game yet? It's been blowing up on Twitch and YouTube as of late and I have been considering buying it for the Halloween season. Anyway, it's a 4 player co-op game where you essentially play ghost hunters. You can die though and become a ghost yourself. I haven't watched too much on the game yet, but it does look kind of fun. We all know Microsoft bought up Bethesda recently for quite a bit. When it happened, I was kind of psyched about it, but looking at it now, I am somewhat worried. I know Bethesda is in good standing, and has many games planned, but could MS at some point decide to shut them down like other studios? The big reason I don't think that will happen, is because of how big Bethesda is. But, don't count out Microsoft, because they could easily close a studio down whenever they please. But I hope they don't do that with Bethesda or any other studio they own for that matter, because right now, MS needs the games.

Does anyone here ever play rhythm games? I used to play DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) years ago to help me lose weight. And it did help for a while. I don't really play the game much these days though, as the dance mat I got recently stopped working. 😞 And mats are starting to get more costly these days. Anyway, what are some of the rhythm games you remember playing? What are some of your favorites?

My nephew has been playing Alan Wake since I got him into it last weekend. It got me thinking though, the game is looking a bit old in some places, so wouldn't it be cool if they did a remaster of Alan Wake? Imagine if they brought it out on new gen consoles with ray tracing and better lighting. That would look like a pretty game I bet. Anyway, I think for the most part, they wouldn't have to do much to get it to work. What do you guys think? Would you like to see an Alan Wake remastered released?

If you got a copy of the Japanese SourceNext PC version of Dino Crisis, well you can now download a patch to include updated graphics and enhanced AI. This patch is called Dino Crisis Rebirth. I'm not sure if this works with an PC version in the US, but maybe they will make one for us. Or maybe we can figure out how to get the Japanese version to take advantage of this patch. I think RE7 can be considered a contender for the best ever, mainly because it reinvigorated a dying franchise. RE6 wasn't well received by critics or fans, and RE7 blew away people's expectations. Now Capcom is doing their remasters and bringing classic RE games back to the new generation and fans too. Anyway, RE7 is up there for sure.

You are correct, so any games by Nintendo I probably won't be able to stream. But third party released games on the NES should be fine. As long as it's not a Nintendo owned game, I believe I can stream it. I'll certainly look into PSP.

I think the intention with those games was to be random, weird and offensive. Once it got press, it blew up. Otherwise I don't think this game would have made it very far. I think they actually used the negative press in their reviews as well, but I may be thinking of a different game. If they did, it's smart on their part.

Oh for sure. I have this feeling often with a few games. The big game that comes to mind is Grand Theft Auto. I used to play it like crazy back when I was younger, but these days I can't be bothered with it much anymore. I blame it on the fact that each GTA before it, I would stay up for long hours into the night, doing the same thing over and over. Eventually we're going to tire of it. It's just like when I complete a game's story, I usually don't play it for much longer. Which is why replayability is key in gaming, because if you can't keep them coming back, what's the point right?

I haven't been playing much, but I got my nephew to try out Alan Wake for the first time, and I think he's in love with it. So when he comes over, I watch him play some Alan Wake. Other than that, I played a bit of THPS 1+2 remastered. Closing in on 100% for both sides. And once I am fully upgraded, I'm going to take my guy online and see how I do against everyone else. 😄

What were some games you were psyched for, but they never came out? I remember when Rockstar announced Agent. It was supposed to be a PlayStation exclusive, but it never saw the light of day. It I believe reverted to L.A. Noire later on, but there was rumors that Agent was still in the works. What are some other games that never came out? I think Fable Legends was a game that was announced, but I think it got cancelled. List some of the ones you can remember.

Well, it seems Nintendo and their Joy Con drift issues aren't just theirs anymore. Microsoft is facing a lawsuit over 'drifting' issues to their Xbox controllers. This has actually been a problem since the 360 days. I don't know how many controllers I had that ended up with messed up analog sticks. This is why I can't stand Xbox controllers, because they break down so fast. Each controller I've had since the 360, always have problems with the analog stick. Eventually the stick does start to drift and I then have to buy a new one, or stick with the faulty one and hope for the best. Anyway, it looks like Microsoft might be forced to repair some of the elite series 1 and 2 controllers. I don't own either, but have dealt with this with standard controllers since forever now. And the odd thing is, it only seemed to happen for the Xbox controllers. I never had that with the PS2 or any other console with analog sticks. Maybe this will result in free repairs of Xbox controllers. If so, I'm taking advantage of it to get some Xbox One controllers fixed. Super Mario Maker 1 & 2 are hugely popular games. It got me thinking when I played it a while back with my nephew. Why don't we see more franchises step into this genre? I could see a franchise like Sonic getting a Sonic maker game. That would actually be cool. I'd try that out. I imagine people could make some unique levels. That's just one idea, what other franchises would you like to see do a game like Mario Maker?

What would you guys say are the best games in the Yakuza series? I only played Yakuza Zero so far, and I only played it for a couple hours at most. I want to get back into it though because what I did play, I enjoyed a lot. What is the best in the series? Should I start from the first and go from there?

I've never been one to spend much on mobile anything. I tried one of those online claw machines and paid maybe $5 max. I considered buying coins and stuff in some games, but I never go through with it. I just see no point in it personally. But, to each their own.

I didn't see any previous topics, and I made sure to search just in case. I didn't notice any with any similar titles to this one either. This topic differs in that it's about what we consider to be the "Best" in the genre, so this would likely fall in line with like a top 10 list of the best horror games. Essentially what is the best horror game ever? Disregarding favorites and going by popularity, review scores, and overall standing. Which horror game should be called the best of the best? I can see most people saying something like RE2, RE4, Silent Hill 2, and a few others. I really think Resident Evil 4 might be regarded as the best, but I don't know. It's tough to say which should be the best, because there are so many great horror games that came out.

Depends, because for one, I like to be told how the game works and what I need to do to get things moving. But of course, I like mystery and like to learn some games on my own. But, I don't want to get stuck running around a big map trying to figure out what to do next, it doesn't really work out so well. I could see it working if the objectives were, for example, on a sheet of paper you have to look at in game or something. At least that won't take you out of the game like seeing an objective marker on your map or in your sights. I like games that give you enough details to know what you're doing.

We're talking about Smash Bros here, I think the realism is out the door. 😄 It's different, but Smash Bros has a play n watch character, Soldi Snake, and other characters. Steve should fit right into the mix. It's going to look weird, but that's the charm in it I think.

Not all of us are pro gamers like yourself. 😄 Maybe I just suck, but still, I would have loved to beat either game. Maybe if I replayed them again recently, I might have a better chance. Yikes, I think I'll pass on playing that one. I still have yet to play it. I hear it's notoriously tough, but it's all about timing and precision. All of which I don't have these days lol.

What would you guys say is the easiest games to get involved in for esports? I am by no means a pro gamer, and I doubt I could actually win an actual esports event, but I think it would be quite cool. Anyway, what are some games that are easy to get into and maybe even master?
