  1. I've been wanting to set aside a day of the week to only play old classic games. I always think about it, but never do. So I urge everyone to try it once a week and post here to share how it was and what games you played. I've got the Classic Mini Nintendo as well as the original, and I've got the Sega Classic on ps2.
  2. This may seem like old news, but I was looking to play some of the classic Silent Hill games on the ps4 and learned that due to the way the games were made by Konami, it just can't be remastered. They have attempted to, but ended up worsening details. I'm confused as to why that is. I know they had issues with the fog in the HD version. The only option would be to remake it.
  3. Has anyone played this? It is free and part of an update in AC Valhalla. It is a separate story all in its own that has an interesting take on the history of Vikings. I thought this was very unique to offer this. I'm actually learning quite a bit. AC Odyssey had something similar, but didn't have an actual story as this does.
  4. Valhalla does have some excellent gear, and what is unique about that game is being able to change up your tattoos which can replace some of the chest gear.
  5. If an android developed a sense of feelings and you became close to it, would you accept it as something real and as a lover? I'm not talking about a toy, but an actual relationship. Would you believe the feelings were really mutual or programmed?
  6. Wow, to listen to her in that vulnerable state and breakdown while some evil parent in the background kept interrupting is such a damn shame. I even heard the parent in the background yell that this is the indoctrination. lol. WTF? They have absolutely no clue what indoctrination is. To be accepted for being gay or colored or having a disability is not indoctrination. But these things are going on in the school board meetings with parents. And parents are threatening and assaulting other parents. The state of our schools is in chaos.
  7. The most gruesome games I remember playing is Outlast and The Evil Within 2. I just started The Evil Within 1 and so far... it...is...hell...Do you know of any extra horrific games in horror or even military? I'm talking extra blood, guts, bodies, and limbs. Or some straight up disgusting creature.
  8. Monsanto is an agriculture corporation known for Agent Orange Roundup pesticide and genetically modifying seeds. They have caused widespread problems with the use of pesticides creating 'superbugs' that can eventually wipe out entire crops world wide. On top of that, they genetically modify seeds and patent them, hoarding seeds and preventing people from being able to get fertile seeds to produce their own food. And many times their pesticides and GMO seeds get mixed up in organic crops. I believe that eventually we will have failed crops worldwide and not be able to recover due to the lack of seeds that have genetic variability.
  9. Do you know of any games that have a number of cities in them? Which games do you think have the most?
  10. Something I really love about the Assassin's Creed series are all the excellent looking gear. Do you have any favorites or have any pics? The Altair outfit seems to be a favorite since it usually appears as a rare set in each game including all the latest ones. I really like being able to switch out pieces of gear in AC Odyssey with hundreds of options to choose if not thousands. I love the pharaoh set in AC Origins. I'll try to update some pics of my favorites soon.
  11. I would like to give a try. When does it start? After this post?
  12. Definitely horror around Halloween. I also like playing wintery games in the winter, or settings that take place in cold weather. And desert/island type games in summer. In a way it enhances the game if I'm cold and play a game in snowy mountains. But I'll still play whatever whenever. I'll just enjoy the setting more if I'm feeling the same environment.
  13. I always liked the shire in RDR2. I've only seen them used as pulling carriages, but never in the wild. So if I wanted one I'd have to kill the innocent. They are big and powerful horses that are beautiful and rides pretty well. I had an all black one that was my favorite horse. Most other games don't have horse qualities, just a mount that rides but with different appearances. The craziest horse to ride is the zombie horses in RDR Undead Nightmare. You can hardly control those beasts. In Ghost of Tsushima, you have your one main horse that is loyal to you, but if you hop on another horse that isn't yours then it rides a bit wild. Assassin's Creed series usually has some cool looking geared up horses you can switch when you want but they all ride the same. I can't think of any other game that has actual different characteristics or capabilities besides that in RDR2.
  14. After progressing in the story, I find there are actually some subtle prejudice comments I've picked up on. It's making the story seem a bit cheesy now. But the gameplay I really enjoy and the graphics and scenery is beautiful. So, without the dumb things they say, gameplay wise is pretty good.
  15. Actually, in this game the zombies chase around animals and kill them. You even encounter zombified animals.
  16. This time in California, a student recorded a history teacher at Anacapa Middle School in Ventura, California saying that Trump is still president, derogatory comments about Hunter Biden, and hospitals steal babies from unvaccinated parents. All Americans need to record their teachers. States may pass laws seriously affecting schools, but if you record them, you can help get rid of the bad teachers who are trying to indoctrinate the kids. That's how you fight this. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/student-teacher-qanon-video-shouting-b1951071.html
  17. This is an interesting question because I didn't even know what liminal was. But thinking on it, is really a deep question. Game wise, I really liked the safe houses in the recent Evil Within 2 game I've played. You enter a mirror that takes you to some state of mind or realm where you can enhance abilities and weapons, and even talk to your subconscious therapist strapped to a crazy chair. Just being in that safe zone gives a feeling of relief from the evil outside. You even can drink a cup of coffee to regain health. That little perk I thought was cool. I think that counts as liminal because it really is a sort of transition state. On a more physical transition area, I love hallways in scary games. And I love walking down streets in a creepy town. I think every time we put in a game we enter a liminal space because we are about to go through an experience.
  18. If I'm in the habit of gaming at a certain time, then it does help regulate the mood. If I game for an extended period and completely shut out my pets from existence, then I feel a sense of regret; so it deregulates me. Imagine what goes on in a pet's mind while we game. They think we entered the world of insanity and half dead. To pets, it's like an old person staring at the wall twiddling their thumbs.
  19. I think a moral victory is what sells. Imagine a game where there is an immoral victory. It will leave the game seeming unfinished. Even in horror games that seem unfinished at the end hinting that the evil still exists, still has a satisfying ending where there was a moral victory. What would be the point playing a game where you just constantly lose and even ends in a loss. It was all for naught. Optimism is what keeps us playing a game and that is the single most important factor. It’s the basis for every story and for a protagonist’s existence. The majority of people favor moral victories. I’m not sure if that preference is innate or something engrained in us from childhood with all the fairy tales. Optimism and moral victory is what drives life. But again I question if morality is innate or something taught. Being driven by an immoral victory can have the same optimism, but it’s less popular. A society driven by immoral victory could change that trend in what sells.
  20. The Evil Within 2 is one of the best horror games I've ever played and is a very underrated masterpiece. It has all the elements of horror that I like; from the artistic approach like that of Layers of Fear, to the outright sadistic approach both physically and psychologically. The story was intense and the gameplay was enjoyable. The monsters were some of the best I've ever seen, both artistically and horrifying. The game will make you see the mind of true evil and that's f****n scary. I'm really surprised and impressed at the work Bethesda put into this game. Why they haven't made more games in this genre or even a part 3 of Evil Within is beyond me. I think they sorely lacked at promoting this great gem of a horror game.
  21. Have you ever tried gaming within minutes after waking up? They say that if you drive a vehicle right after waking up then you are as dangerous as a drunk driver because your reactions are slower. I’ve noticed that while gaming in the first few minutes waking up that graphics and action in the game is more intense. Maybe because the mind has been at rest and still slightly buzzed from melatonin. To wake and bake could also be more spiritual depending on the game because when you wake, the mind is refreshed and the game can set the mood for the day. So playing in a beautiful environment can give a sense of rejuvenation and grounding with a greater affect than any other time of the day. Dr. Me recommends giving it a try. And try different types of games to see how it affects you.
