  1. That is exactly why I was hesitating. I didn't want to miss out on other upgrades. Though I think the Survival tier should be useful all around.
  2. ohhhh thank you so much. I could not find a reference to that anywhere, and I did not want to buy upgrades until I knew.
  3. There was a rumour at one point that the next BioShock game would be an open world game (at least, I think it was a rumour). How would you feel about this? Considering that BioShock games have been built up around “place” as a central concept, it seems like it could work. On the other hand, they are strongly story-driven, and I can’t imagine BioShock without that.
  4. Are there songs from video games that you love, but can’t stand being stuck in your head? Like I really like the theme song for Dragon Age: Origins. But I get so annoyed when it gets lodged in my head and refuses to come out (what a coincidence—it is there right now).
  5. Are there any video games that you would absolutely not want to be made into TV shows or films? Which games, and what about them makes you feel they would not work well in those mediums?
  6. I read that Dualshock 4s are getting harder to find. And I’d say this has been true of Dualshock 3s for a while. Has anyone here had a hard time hunting down controllers (these or others) before?
  7. Did a reviewer ever help you see a game or something about it in a new way?
  8. What do you personally want from VR? Mostly, I want an ultralight headset.
  9. In what ways has being part of a gaming community enhanced your gaming experience? For me, it has helped me discover games I might have otherwise never known about or overlooked. Sometimes other gamers have also drawn my attention to details and interpretations I also would not have noticed or come up with on my own.
  10. I think we have talked about games with beautiful lighting before. But which games feature the most realistic lighting?
  11. Did a preorder ever let you down so much that you are hesitant to do it anymore?
  12. Are there toxic messages you feel are still embedded in a lot of video games these days? What behaviours/beliefs do these messages perpetuate?
  13. Are there games you have bought and tried, but haven’t played since?
  14. If you run out of supplies and are low on health in a game, do you reload a previous save, or do you find a way to forge on?
  15. I am new to TLOU II. So, I saved up a bunch of supplements so I could get the +25% health perk for Ellie under the Survival upgrades. But for some reason, it is grayed out and marked as locked? As far as I know, one does not need a training manual for this. Am I missing something here? Like do I have to take them in a particular order? @Shagger can you please help me with this? I don't want to spend my supplements on other things without knowing what is going on.
  16. What games have you played that you feel featured pacing that was awkward or annoying in some way? What bothered you about the pacing?
  17. When there are optional areas/dialogue, etc. in video games, do you ever skip them? If so, why?
  18. I don't think the ending is about the gamer. It's about the characters and their choices.
  19. I wouldn't call them conclusions so much as just a summary of my subjective perceptions and experiences. I'll have to look up the games you mentioned to check out their POVs!
  20. Would you ever be willing to work crunch time on a game? How much would someone need to pay you?
  21. Is there a game from the modern era that would have changed your life had it been available to you to play when you were a little kid? I think the BioShock games would have probably been life-changing for me as a kid. I think Dragon Age and Mass Effect might have been as well, though for very different reasons.
  22. What games have you managed to beat at the hardest level of difficulty? How long did it take you/how challenging was it? On a related note, are there open world games you have played or do play at the hardest difficulty setting?
  23. If a game has really solid gameplay but the other elements are tedious to you (i.e. the story, setting, characters, or art), can you enjoy it? Does it depend on what type of game it is?
  24. If a game impresses you sufficiently with respect to its setting, characters, story, ambiance, or other qualities, are you able to enjoy it even if the gameplay itself is not outstanding?
  25. Does anyone here have issues with RSI, carpal tunnel, or anything else that makes your wrists/hands swell or hurt? What are your strategies for dealing with this and continuing to enjoy your games?
