  1. @Steerminator OMG, THIS. Yes, the person who I watch play most often has this same issue. I think anxiety in general often boils down in part to poor self-esteem, so that is a factor here. And you end up with either 1-the person beating themselves up for being bad (when they are often actually just learning and are doing fine), or 2-the person blames the game, because the only way they have learned to feel OK about themselves is to outsource blame and perceive something else as Not OK.
  2. Exatly. I can relate to this too. Like, if someone is managing their resources inefficiently, it is so hard not to be a backseat driver and pester them about it. This is very me.
  3. Standard price at Walmart 🙂
  4. Thanks! I didn't realize how much Skyrim was already a focus in this thread, so hadn't thought to click on it (and this thread is a great idea, btw).
  5. Since I skipped the PS4 generation, I have a pile of PS4 games waiting for me. Top priority is to play the Trepasser DLC for Dragon Age Inquisition if I can to wrap up the story. I'm also eager to play remastered BioShock. After that, TLOU II. For open world games, it will be either this one or The Outer Worlds first. Haven't decided.
  6. If you are stuck on a desert island with no chance of escape, what video game character would you choose as your companion? I will pick Ellie from TLOU, since she is good at finding meaning/value in harsh circumstances.
  7. I’m having deja’vu, so I hope I haven’t asked this. But what video game character would other people in your life say you are most like?
  8. Makes sense. I think I am going to place my PS5 vertically, but I don't know how to keep my cat away. There are only a few spots in my tiny home where it can go.
  9. Is there a video game character you feel is your polar opposite? I might pick Vivienne from DA Inquisition.
  10. As it says in the title, which character would you want to have with you for a prison break, keeping in mind you cannot use their magic/powers to cheat (and no special weapons or equipment)? I will pick Leliana from DA Origins, as I feel her cunning will come in handy.
  11. Are there games where the menus/controls still elude you? Like, I understand Oblivion’s menus, but I STILL push almost random buttons trying to scroll through all the screens.
  12. What is your favorite game to watch someone else play?
  13. If it is an option with your console, do you position yours horizontally or vertically?
  14. Digital, alas. But these days, I'll take it =D
  15. What do you regret from your time in an MMO? In the game I was in, if you killed an AFK character, they progressively lost levels down to zero unless someone else did something with their body. I really regretted doing that for someone once. In hindsight, I so should have let them drop to zero.
  16. What do you miss most about your earliest days of gaming? I think I miss how hard we sometimes had to work to solve puzzles, weirdly enough (no YouTube videos to watch). Sometimes I’d actually had to collaborate with friends to figure stuff out.
  17. Is there a simple feature you overlooked completely in your favorite game for years? Like, for example, my brother did not realize you can cook in Skyrim.
  18. A PS5 is on the way to me. At Long Last. … That is all.
  19. Why are windows in ES and Fallout games opaque? I guess it is because the buildings load as separate zones, but would it really be that hard to make them part of the zone around them?
  20. My brother is playing DA Origins for the first time. Like me, he tries to make ethical choices in video games. So, it is hilarious watching him make almost completely opposite choices/assumptions as me. It seems like watching how two players tackle the same scenarios in a game sheds interesting light on what divides their personal ethical systems.
  21. Weirdly enough, I see the appeal in what @Razor1911 says (probably because gaming and dreaming feel similar to me), and totally relate to your reaction at the same time.
  22. What are your favorite Skyrim mods? @killamch89 Particularly wanting your feedback here. I'm guessing if I get the Skyrim Special Edition, I could use PS4 mods on PS5, so I am excited to potentially mod Skyrim for the first time.
