In what must have been a shocking revelation at the time, Overseer Jacoren in Fallout: A Post Nuclear Roleplaying Game refuses to give the Vault Dweller the recognition and respect they deserve. While I can understand the Overseer's complaints, his dismissive attitude tells me he was trying to save his own rear more than his fellows. Still, had it not been for Overseer Jacoren's choice, Fallout 2 would've looked very different.
Apologies for the vaguery, I'm unsure how to hide spoilers via formatting if such a thing is possible.

The demos of Bioshock and F.E.A.R: First Encounter Assault Recon made me the most excited for a horror game I've ever been, and likely ever will be. Nothing has come close to the slow build of tension and spine-tingling fear than those two on the Xbox 360. That said, I'm currently enjoying Call of Cthulu (2018) and have to say I'm loving it!

I think most of the Bioshock games did an excellent job with it. I can't really think of any other game that got me like that except Nightmare Creatures, but that's a really old game and if I play it now it's more funny than creepy.
To be honest I think minecraft does a good job with their music. I vividly remember the first night in the block world, I actually got chills. Sound does make a lot of the games stand out in that way.

I think what you say here and go on to say in your next paragraph is a fair assessment. I brought up the selfishness (again, survival if boiled down to its most raw substance) as an additional angle to the heroic/cowardly spectrum, like I typically do law and chaos to the debate of good and evil. Joel can be considered heroic for saving a life at the risk of his own, and that was likely the intent because it makes for a more dramatic story. Much as I disliked Joel's actions and wouldn't call him a hero, I can't call him a coward for the aforementioned risk of life and limb. Plus he's a human with limited time to act; logic doesn't fare well in such circumstances. To quote Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, "love makes you do the wacky."
My apologies, I meant the latter. I feel as though fighting 'evil with evil', in the sense of Lawful Evil versus Chaotic evil, or Chaotic Good versus Lawful Evil is a much more interesting story than Lawful and Chaotic good fighting one another. But even while I use those terms liberally they're still only archetypes and still require competent writers to flesh those roles out, or add their own perceptions to them as you do. ^^

I believe it depends on the publishers/devs making it possible to port the save over. I know some games are offering a feature to port your saves, but I don't know if all saves will. But, I suspect the cloud saves will be usable on both.

@StaceyPowers made a post about transferring PS3 files to a PS5. It got me wondering about the same thing but slightly Being that the PS5 is fully reverse compatible with PS4, would it be possible to just move files from the PS4 straight to the PS5? Like through an external hard drive type thing? The same way you would with a thumb drive or microSD card? I'm curious because at some point in a few years I wouldn't mind getting one, but I don't want to lose all the files I have on my PS4.

Overall, I do think this is a correct description of him. But I feel there was more to the ending than that, and it took me a second playthrough to be sure I felt that way (and a couple of playthroughs of Left Behind). The imagery at the start of the game and the imagery at the end of it are close mirrors, and it seems to me that protecting what is innocent was a motive alongside survival. The soldier who shot Sarah was doing something pragmatic and logical, but also unnecessary. I got the impression what the Fireflies wanted to do with Ellie was potentially likewise. Plus, Riley seemed a clear source of virtue, and her words at the end of Left Behind were also similar to Joel's at the end of TLOU. I kind of felt like they reached the same decision point in different ways. Selfishness may not be heroic, but a character being selfish doesn't necessarily make him un-heroic either.

Note: I haven't played TLOU II yet. For all I know, all of the above is wrong.
In terms of being effective against that leader strategically, or in terms of good storytelling? Honestly, lawful good leaders sometimes irk me, as they often tend to have a black and white view of the universe that just doesn't fit with real life. While trying not to dirty their hands, they end up causing more harm than good sometimes. They don't make good soldiers. They are more worried about protecting their egos than protecting others.

It's very rough since the model was created through 3D reconstruction aka. photogrammetry using screenshots from the model viewer. If I could get my hands on the actual models from the game it would be much better.

The Walking Dead game series had a lot to do with human nature or their struggles with morality and against each other about as much if not more so than the zombies. Under certain circumstances, anyone can change and become 'the threat' to survivors whether in their own group or on the road. Trust, decision making, leadership, competence, integrity and morality and many other qualities are presented in the game. Even though it's just a game, it makes me think about those real behaviors in people and how they would act in crisis mode including my own self. We all think we are fully capable of handling situations but we never truly know. And it's weird to think about family and friends. Everything you know about them; how will they react with a group of people in a desperate survivor mode?
Is someone very controlling who may want to dictate the group and not listen to everybody's input? Is someone a coward and throw you under the bus? Is someone immoral and may steal food, drugs, or supplies? Is someone a showoff who may murder to look tough? Is someone fearful and paranoid that may ultimately harm another first in false judgement? Is someone super quiet and self isolates from the group who creates distrust? Are you surrounded by man dogs that would take another's innocence? Or is there someone that you know you can count on?

Magic Carpet 2 (DOS PC). EA was EA long before most of us knew it. This is truly a gem of a game, but playing it was like siting on ticking bomb with no timer. You knew it was going to blow, but the trigger could be anything from your toenails growing one billionth of an inch to a massive earthquake, then it would crash. You were afraid to sneeze playing this game. 25 years later, and it's still just as busted.

I think one of the things that triggered this situation with Cyberpunk 2077 is the amount of outlandish promises CDPR made up to the release and how the game would be "released when ready". The media also is a contributing factor as they have wanted the game to fail before it even launched with all their fake stories and CDPR handed them the ammunition by releasing an unfinished, buggy product. The third factor is that CDPR releases great games (Cyberpunk despite all its bugs, is a great game with lots of customization in terms of playing style as well as story) without bugs so I feel like some people feel really betrayed by them (I can't disagree). If it was EA, nobody would be surprised because they always release buggy unfinished messes so the bar is set quite low for them. CDPR adheres to a higher standard so people are holding them to it.
I agree with you and one of the ways CDPR could have taken advantage of this is pull a Bethesda - what do I mean by that? Let the modding community have access to things like the Creation Kit so that they can mod Cyberpunk 2077 and they'd iron out most of those bugs. Fallout 4, Oblivion, and Skyrim are primary examples of this. Without the modding community, these games would be decent at best but the modding community are the ones that made these games become as famous and revered as they are. Ironically, Dragon Age: Inquisition is also another example of this - I know it's EA but this is a similar situation. I'm not saying CDPR isn't supposed to fix the game but by giving the modding community a bit of leeway with Cyberpunk 2077, they could easily bounce back from this.

It's as if people find a bone to chew on from time to time. I don't know what triggers them, anticipation perhaps. It's not that these games are significantly worse than others, it's that people have unrealistic expectations. Mass Effect Andromeda got the same treatment, and I think it was a fine game. Dragon Age inqusition was similarly broken at release yet nobody called it out, it generally was well recieved.
Or Fallout New Vegas was a broken mess as well, yet it is still adored and referenced as one of the greatest RPGs

I have to agree here - I think Medal Of Honor has done the Nazi a bit more service in terms of making them seem like an organized threat. I don't think I've seen a game actually depict the Nazis accurately as in the concentration camps, burning Jews alive, the various experiments done on said Jews. Most video games just skim over the details.

Even though I learned a great deal about World War 2 through books and documentaries, a part of that information also came from games like Medal Of Honor where they actually took elements from interviews with surviving WW2 vets and incorporated it into the game. It's a shame that EA didn't see the goldmine they were sitting on although the next Medal Of Honor game will have actual interviews with some of those people.

AC Odyssey has a whole in depth learning experience in its options menu where you go to actual historical locations and tour it moving your character around and so on. And while in the actual gameplay historical sights you come across are noted and you get XP points. And it has a brief summary of it in the map. I thought that was very unique. Some of it has to do with politics because Greece was the beginning of democracy and so there is a lot of history there as well as the olympics which they reveal as well.

Yes, all of these observations are spot on. And with BioShock Infinite, a friend in Europe asked me to explain religion's role in America's politics, and I just wanted to tell her to play that game, because I feel like it showcases the culture very well and explores some of its roots, values, claims, and appeals to its adherents.

    Sometimes games are even prescient!

So in other words, even though most political games that are historical can also have significance in today's politics. Like in Wolfenstein fighting them Nazis. I can definitely relate that to today's climate. So even though it is based on an alternate history of the Nazis taking over America in the New Colossus, the little collectibles in the game such as post cards and letters have writings that actually depict fascist agendas that have historical and present day relevance. And I say that as the game came out a few years ago and still in 2020 we have heard the same things said in our current political environment almost word for word from trump and party. Such a weird deja vu to hear your government repeat such vile antics. While games shouldn't be used as a political prop, historical games could be relevant today for that simple truth to the matter, history does repeat itself.

RDR2 deals a good amount with racism. It takes place in 1899, and a lot of NPC's are still on the fence. Some of the characters in Arthur's gang still have the 1825 mindset. There are NPC's everywhere that think the south won the civil war. One of the black characters in Arthur's gang, that he's really good friends with, makes the statement in conversation between the two of them that a lot of people would call Arthur a "nigger lover". Those are the exact words the game used. Those words came from a black character. So the game helps people get a look at how people thought a mere 30 years after the war. Then there are female protests all over in all towns about getting equality and the right to vote, that are often met with violence from the men.
It really shows how archaic the minds of people were 121 years ago. There are a lot of other instances that show the barbaric political climate in the game, and none of it is pretty. But as ugly as it is, it's an eye opener.
As the saying goes: Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.
I just wish that applied to progressive history as well.

I actually have a 3D printer, that is what I used for my Abby figure. But extruder printers are a hit and miss for the most part, it is very sensitive to the actual model you are printing, as they can't print in mid air. So there is a lot of optimization and tweaking involved. It's good fun if you are patient and don't mind having a few bad prints. But don't expect it to work like a inkjet printer where you press print and voila. Even if everything is perfect printing a 20cm tall human figure can take about 10-15 hours. Then a lot of manual labor cleaning it up, and painting it.
Then there are resin printers that are much more versatile and can print almost anything, but in return they are more expensive use more power, and the resin is slightly toxic until it is cured.
Printers of other exotic materials like ceramics and metals I think are currently only viable for commercial enterprises as they are prohibitively expensive still.
