Just got told about this from my better half. Honestly, I won't shed a tear. I have little love for the royals, frankly the most significant thing Queen Elisabeth II did for Scotland happened about half an hour ago. Not that I'm happy or anything, any death is tragic and my respect and condolences, but I find it difficult to feel sorry for a woman who lived a life of obscene opulence and luxury up to age the age of 96. The only tragic thing about this is that this idiot is now king.

I find it weird to buy a remake and go “it’s the same game!” after buying it. Was it advertised as being different?

I don't mind quicktime events that aren't frustratingly long and annoying. I can handle them sometimes, but it's when they go on too long or don't stop and have annoying checkpoints. Or are the simon says style quicktime events where they have different levels of difficulty. That's not fun for me. 

Another deal breaker is games with drm or require you to always be online. Especially if it's a single player game. I never understood why drm is a thing. I know it's meant to stop people from sharing and downloading these games for free. But I think it hurts more than anything. Because when that games servers are shut down, you can't play it. So I never liked drm and stuff like it. 

Oh yeah, getting stuck somewhere when there's no clear path. I've been there with many games. I hate having to get out a walkthrough for a game to figure out what to do next. But if it's something I just can't figure out on my own, and I have sat there for a while trying to figure it out, I'll use a walkthrough just to get to the next point. But then I always find myself relying on the walkthrough for the next parts too. 

Not a 100% deal breaker, but a major negative for me is when a game practically requires looking at external sources of information because the in-game guidance is so poor. People moan about hand-holding, but there's a line between that and having you wander around for hours, re-exploring old areas accomplishing nothing in a vague hope to decipher what the developer was thinking, if they'd actually put much thought into that bit.

I've got no need to embarrass you, as it appears you're quite capable of doing that yourself without any help. I literally need not say anything.
 
I'm not presenting any kind of argument or debate here, I'm just giving you a very simple instruction from mod' to member. Don't spread hate on these boards.  All I'm asking you to do is not insult fellow members and keep your sexism and homophobia off VGR, something that shouldn't tough for such a well educated individual. Now, can you do that or not?
 
And, try to loosen up a little if possible? I understand you're a bit sensitive (clearly), but try to relax, and thus not get triggered so easily.

It's not ridiculous it all; in fact: it's a pretty normal and basic conquering tactic that goes back literally centuries if not thousands of years to get warriors and men to learn musical instruments and the arts of femininity so that when the population in which they dwell is abused by authoritarian regimes, the men do not resist the abuse.
 
I've mentioned in other topics how human beings can have their minds "erased", or fractured, and then have a new personality sort of implanted via MK Ultra (CIA Mind Control) techniques; and more and more people aren't simply waking up one day and "deciding" that they are queer, or a 3 year old boy "deciding" he is a female one day. This stuff is factually being pushed onto the populace, although its debatable how much and to what extent the content is being pushed. 
 
Even just last night I looked at right wing journalist Andy Ngo's Twitter and there was a fairly outrageous display of full grown men in drag queen strip tease dance shows having a large drag event where they were teaching literally children how to give the drag people tips like a stripper, and antifa were guarding the event with an armed militia with AR-15's, etc. Is this country serious about this stuff? That is pure decadence at its finest, and if and when the country collapses, don't say you weren't warned because the moral decline and the decadence comes before the collapse. 
 
The big lie is that you are being sold some sort of ridiculous "progress", when in fact humanity has likely already gone through various phases of a build up to high levels of technological achievement only to face a great catastrophe (whether it is natural or planned); and then they have to restart everything again. Also known as the great reset and very similar to how there were actually 5 versions of "NEO" before the one in the original Matrix trilogies.
 
Yes, there are conspiracies. And yes there are conspiracies all the time. I study law and conspiracies happen on the daily. All a "conspiracy" is, is when 2 or more people collude in order to commit a crime -- similar in a way to contract law. Yes, yes, yes there are "conspiracies" -- but the various intelligence agencies have convinced people that there's no such thing as a conspiracy and what a ridiculous idea the notion is.

Some of my knowledge is also well ahead of the 21st century, which would technically make me ahead of you; so good luck with that one. Trying to prop up a society that is going to a very GENERALIZED and cookie cutter process of collapse via decadence and moral decline is not some sort of way of traveling into the future. This awesome 21st century future you're bragging about is going to feature your local neighborhood lemings in bread lines after the collapse while things head towards a banana Republic like Venezuela. And chili dogs will, of course, be 200,000 dollars a piece, but since we are dealing with the grand "future" of humanity -- inflation will be so downright spectacular and wonderful in the 21st century version of America that chili dogs will increase in price by the hour (just like they do in Venezuela as of August 29th, 2022). And if you don't like chili dogs being 17 billion dollars, or whatever form of currency they have after a collapse, then snitches will rat you out as an enemy of the state and a person will likely be placed on the terrorist watch list.

I could care less about your conspiracy theory's. Gay people exist, and if you can't handle that reality, find your own way to deal with it. One think I won't allow though is homophobia on the boards. That's ridiculous. More people come out these days because the human race (or at most of us) know better than we used to and understand that's it's perfectly normal and aren't threatened by the fact it's more accepted. That's the "Captain Obvious" part. There's no agenda, there's no conspiracy, just people living thier lives in a way that doesn't hurt you, so either join us in the 21st century or get left behind.

More people are identifying as LGBTQ because it is likely an intentional push (via the media machine and their cohorts) by the left. I don't watch any Matt Walsh, but I would imagine he is probably pointing out Captain Obvious type stuff, whether people want to hear it or not.
 
 

It depends on which distro you’re using. Ubuntu, Mint, and elementary are pretty set it and forget it. If we’re talking about Arch and Gentoo, then that’s a different story.

There was an arcade unit but only in japan.  I'm not really harping on the game for being short because, like you said, it's in the same ball park in terms of game time as Time Crisis or House of the Dead. I'm harping on it for being shit!
 
for the sake of perspective I'm going to tell a little story.  I always remember as a kid I was at a holiday park that had an arcade area and in there was as a machine for Time Crisis 2.  I was playing it with one of my brothers and we were doing pretty well.  We'd gotten to maybe half way through where we, inevitably, started to run out of lives and continues.  It wasn't often you see people get this far and by this point a small crowd had gathered around the machine,  I figured it was just some people waiting in line but then, without us asking, some of them actually started to put in money out of their own pocket so we could keep playing!  Thanks to the contributions from our unexpected sponsors we ended up beating the game.  So why did these people pay for someone else to play an arcade machine?  It wasn't because of us, it was because they wanted to see the rest of the game, to know what happens.  I know this because later in the week I saw the same thing happen several times.  That's the mark of great when you can get people even for a short while, that invested in it.
 
Now @Kane99, I don't really know what the arcade version of Resident Bitch Code 2 Balls X (I can't be bothered to remember the title anymore) was like but I'm going to a wild guess that it didn't get the reaction that I observed with Time Crisis 2.  I mean if you were in an arcade and you watched some play Code Veronica's Zombie Lap dance would you pay to see level 4?  Almost certainly not.  If the arcade was even half decent money maker they'd have surely released it outside Japan.  So fuck Capcom's President's Lively Wasteland Survival Guide, both versions, Hard copy and Paperback!

I've played a lot of worse games but one game that always stood out to me as the biggest garbage i've played over the years was Charlie's Angels on the ps2 the fact that i paid full price for it made it even worse. Yes shame on me i know.
 

Modern Rockstar/ Take 2 interactive are the definition of greed - they're not really that much better than EA.

A distro or distribution is just a different version of Linux. Since Linux is free & open source, anyone can make their code and alter it into their own version of Linux and call it whatever they want, that's essentially a distro. 
There are many different Linux distros from; Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, Arch Linux, Red Hat, OpenSuse, Gentoo, Fedora and more. A lot of them do much of the same, as they replicate how Windows machines work with their GUI (guided user interface). But it's much different when it comes to installing apps and all that. 
I think of it like having different flavors of Linux. With Windows for example, they are closed source I believe, where only MS and certain licenced companies can put out their version of the OS, and very little can modify it. With Linux, you can modify pretty much anything you want with it. I like to also think of it as anyone being able to make their own operating system. 
I really like Linux, because it allows you to get away some from Windows and it's horrible update options and other problems. The only downside with Linux is that it's kinda tough to get games to work proper. It can be done, but it's not always easy. Thankfully Steam and other marketplaces are starting to support Linux gaming. 

Speaking only for myself but yes modern Rockstar/take 2 are especially greedy.And yes I'd put them in the same category as EA as far as being greedy.No corporation is your friend, but they're both especially greedy.With Sony pulling this crap I have to add them to the really greedy category also.

And yep I forgot Ubi is getting into the NFT crap too.

Yeah - I think we did discuss this in another thread if I remember correctly. Square Enix like a lot of other formerly great developers have chosen greed over satisfying their core audience and a decision that will soon come back to haunt them.
