Things that more than enrage you in games
The Blackangel replied to The Blackangel's topic in Gaming Forum
I have no trouble shooting. I've been able to pick off deer from insane distances. I can also hit them in the head while they're running. Not just deer, but small animals like squirrels as well. I don't use the aim assist very often because I'm using either a trick shot or I'm too far away from the animal for aim assist to kick in. I can't stand autosave. It only saves when you're in the middle of something important, like a gunfight against 10 enemies, throws that damn screen up that tells you autosave has saved your game, and thus causes you to fucking die. The first time I had to deal with that shit I said hell no, and turned it off. -
Have you ever submitted a high score to leaderboards site?
The Blackangel replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
I don't know if it's still around or not, but there was a magazine called Tips & Tricks when I was a kid during the NES/SNES/N64 era that did a lot of gamin articles and had a big section with cheat codes and "tips & tricks" for a lot of the games on the systems of the era. They put out a challenge to anyone who could complete Zelda A Link To The Past with a perfect score. I sent in a pic of myself beside my TV with Link on the screen at the perfect score of zero. I don't remember if it was ever published or mentioned in the magazine, because I couldn't afford to buy it very often. But that would be the only time for me. -
If we're considering every console ever made by Nintendo, then no Wii U isn't their worst. The Virtual boy takes that prize without question. I know there's a lot of kids here who are too young to have ever known the Virtual Boy. It was released in 1995, a year before the N64 was released in 1996. The Virtual Boy was a complete disaster. The supposed "headset" wasn't a headset at all. You had to push your face up against the damn thing and hope it stayed still to see what you were doing. The games gave you migraines, and the attempt at 3D/VR was just obscene. The Nerd did a good video on it.

What popular TV shows or Movies have you never seen?
The Blackangel replied to reecedouglas1's topic in Movies & TV
Glee Sopranos Cobra Kai Dr Who Lucifer Smallville 30 Rock The Bachelor/Bachelorette OZ Any and all shows based on or around Star Wars. Disney completely ruined the franchise. It should have ended with episode 6 and stayed ended at episode 6. Fuck. You. Disney. -
I wish I could exercise. I miss going for a run, lifting weights (yes girls do lift weights), or even doing a pushup. Now since the MD has taken a complete hold of my life, the most strenuous activity I can do is climb in and out of the shower. And I have to have a shower chair or sit on the floor.😢 But the thing I miss the most, is going out into the woods for an all day hike. I would give my life and my soul to be able to do that just one more time.

Either way, we're screwed.

It's easy enough to see all this from someone's profile. There's also the leaderboard. You can check things like this there.

Is there anything in games you have become desensitized to?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
If you go through enough violence IRL you become completely numb and indifferent to it. For example, I can sit back and see someone get hit by a car and both feel and do nothing. I wouldn't care in the least. They could be begging me for help, and I would probably just look at them for a brief moment then go back to whatever the hell it was that I was doing before I had to listen to their whining. And it doesn't end with others. It applies to myself too. I've watched people getting attacked by multiples at a time and done nothing. Why did I do nothing? Because I didn't care. It's why I spend so much time on a website that exclusively shows more and more violent videos. Have you ever heard of 3 guys 1 hammer? It's on there. I would recommend not searching for it though, because if you're not numb to the world it will only make you sick. You're better off with 2 girls 1 cup. -
What are some things that set you off so bad that the only thing that would help is to kill someone or something? The ones I’m going to list are all from RDR2 because I’m playing it right now and it’s pissing me off to the point that I just need to kill something IRL. That or grab my hammer and put my head on the table. Find out how many hits it takes to either give me a stutter or knock my ass out, whichever comes first. All of these are related to hunting. Lets count down, shall we? 3) When you have a perfect shot on an animal and as you finger is moving to pull the trigger the mother fucker moves and you either miss, or hit it but ruin the hide. 2) When you have to tell the idiot more than once to drop bait and more than once to apply scent cover lotion. And the number one thing that pisses me off is my horse. Its reaction to predators. Bears, wolves, snakes, etc. she runs like hell from them. All predators. Except cougars. It doesn’t matter how fast you’re going or how far away from it you are. If one comes up the horse will literally stop running, throw your ass, then run off. It doesn’t matter how big or what breed of horse you have. The reaction to predators is universal. Yet coyotes and foxes don’t mean shit. They react to them the same way they react to a damn fish. There was a fourth thing, but I’m so damn pissed off right now that I’ve forgotten what it is. If I didn’t need this hide I would have said “fuck it” long ago, assuming I ever even bothered with it in the first place. I’m so pissed off I’m literally about to puke.

True. If I remember correctly, you don't live in the US right? If so, that would most likely be a big factor.

Nope. Yucatan peninsula (Mexico)

Game Of Thrones Grays Anatomy Sleepy Hollow Friends ER Those are the only ones I can think of right now. -
Vigilante justice is the only true form of justice. Euthanasia should be legal for humans as well as animals. Cult members should be locked in a mental asylum for life ad forgotten about. Women have the right to choose without having to read xtian material and and a waiting period. Child abuse is punishable by death. Individuality is to be encouraged instead of being called a freak for rebelling against the corporate masters trying to make us all carbon copy automatons to make them even richer than they already are. 90's "music" should be erased and banned permanently.

It is indeed a good start to the year. My disability check went up $50. So to celebrate I bought a Zippo to add to my collection.

Something I love is how laid back everyone is. Meaning that we can all give each other shit, and typically no one gets riled up by it. We can even give @DC shit and he just laughs. Most of the other forums I've been on, doing something like that, would get you suspensions and possibly even bans. Video gaming aside, this is just a great place to hang out.

The biggest misconception about the Yellowstone volcano is that it's overdue for an eruption. First off, there's no way to accurately predict an eruption ahead of time. You may be able to the day before, but not 10,000 years before. Second, if you go by the math available, we're well within the safe zone for now in relation to an eruption. Scientists are also saying that it will most likely be nothing more than a lava flow. Scientists are also saying that only 5-15% molten (the rest is solidified but still hot), so it is unclear if there is even enough magma beneath the caldera to feed an eruption. Kill us Americans? That's fine with me. It would honestly be one of the best things for this world, and may end up saving it. We're the biggest polluters and the greediest country in the world anyway.

I have no issue on my iPhone with the ad. On my computer both the ad comes up somewhat frequently but it always comes up already muted. One quick click and it's gone until I go to another page. So for though, I can't remember having seen it even once on my phone though. Then again, my memory is pure shit, so that is a factor.

We'll see another variant of Covid come out. We have already seen the Delta strain and the Omicron strain. By years end, we will see at least one more. A heavily anticipated game, think GTA6 for example, will be announced with a release date. But at the last minute it will be delayed another year, and piss gamers off worldwide. PERSONAL PREDICTION: I'll never find the title to my Camaro.

The first time I played RDR2, when Arthur died, afterwards I went for about 4 months or so where I just couldn't play any video game. I was too broken hearted. But I ended up missing him so much that I had to start playing it again.

Games you hope that no one will ever remake?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I'm not saying that remakes should never be done. I have no problem with a remake. But there are some games that to remake them would just be obscene. The original Zelda is one of them. I would be really interested in a remaster/remake of Zelda II, or A Link To The Past. But not the original. One of my all time favorite games is Blaster Master on the NES. I would be really curious to see how a remaster/remake of that one would turn out, as long as it was the same game. There are just some games that are, (for lack of a better term) sacred. In my eyes, it would be like trying to remake the Mona Lisa. As such, they are games that are not to be messed with. Played in the original setting, but not screwed with. You just need to know where the line is and remember not to cross it. Besides, I don't think anyone wants another FF7 occurrence. Or worse. -
GameStop already has the Switch. They have had it for a very long time now.
-
I just realized that I screwed up, and that RDR2 is performance capture and not FMV.

I would have to say PlayStation. I was always a Nintendo chick. It was nothing else for me. Then Sony released the PlayStation the same time the N64 came out. A kid I knew had one, but I thought it was lame. Yet after watching a while, I had to get one. So I saved up from my next two paychecks from Pizza Hut, and bought one with 2 games. Castlevania SOTN, and FF8. Now I have multiples of each PlayStation console from 1-4.

Series where instalments are best viewed as standalones?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Nintendo's two icons. Mario and Zelda. With Mario, every incarnation of the Mushroom Kingdom is a totally different universe. It's the same with Zelda. Hyrule is never the same from one game to the next. And the differences are so extreme, it's like we're playing the game on the multiverse theory. And this is for the main series, and none of the spinoffs from Mario or Zelda.
