I don't know about that. I would give that credit to Doom. Sure, Halo is a massive game that has eclipsed Doom at this point, but I think Doom should be the one that would be the catalyst for FPS games.

Mario 3 was often difficult in several areas. The hardest were the ones that automatically scroll. World 8 was almost impossible at times. But there are items you can pick up all over to skip worlds entirely. You can get a whistle in the very first stage in world one. Use it and you can skip to world 2, 3, or 4. Use one in any of those worlds and 5, 6, and 7 will be available. Use on in them and world 8 would be available. And whistles are easy to come by. If I remember right, there are actually two of them in the first world, but off the top of my head I don't remember where the second one is. I know where the first one and the one in world 2 are. I haven't played the game in forever though, but all the talk of the game lately has given me the itch to hook up my NES and get back into it.

Could you learn to fly with Microsoft flight simulator?
The Blackangel replied to Kane99's topic in Video Games
It could lead you to getting a few pointers, but there's no way you could actually learn to do it from a game. That's like asking if you could learn Ninjitsu from playing TMNT. -
Henry Cavill Wants A Red Dead Redemption Movie
The Blackangel replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
There are only 2 people who could have any chance of playing Arthur correctly, but one is dead and the other is retired. John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. John Wayne would have been my number one pick. There's no one else besides them who could have a chance of getting Arthur right. And there's no way a 91 year old man could pull off a 36 year old man. -
I don't know who else has seen this one, if anyone here even has, but this is one of the best videos The Nerd has ever made. It's so damn funny you will honestly have difficulty processing how to laugh.

Game Boy add-on could have had online capabilities?
The Blackangel replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
AVGN did a video on all the crazy things Nintendo came out with for the game boy. Some of them were so far beyone insane, that I honestly can't believe they were even thought up. -
Henry Cavill Wants A Red Dead Redemption Movie
The Blackangel replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
I don't know. I love RDR2, and play it and replay it all the time. But I think a movie would kill off a lot of the charm that the game has. Especially since the actors would most likely be different people if it's a live action movie. So we would have to figure out different and new voices, which would never work for die hard fans. And it would stray so far from the storyline of the actual game, that it would just ruin it. Every movie that I have seen that was based off a game has just turned me off completely. ANd I'm not the only one in that boat. I used to be obsessed with Mortal Kombat, but after the original two movies, I quit playing it. The new MK movie was good, but it didn't make me want to play it again. So if they draw some inspiration for a western movie from RDR/RDR2 that's fine. But if they base it solely and entirely on the game, I have to pass, no matter on how much I would want to see it. The only thing that could talk me into seeing it would be if either Tim Burton or Johnny Depp were involved in the movie. So, like I said, I hope not. -
I played someone in a fighting game on SNES once when I was younger, and absolutely slaughtered them. I don't remember if it was SF2, MK, or KI. But hey was so pissed at a girl beating him that he stormed off cussing and yelling that the game had fucked up and caused him to lose. Needless to say, he never played against me again, because he KNEW that the game was going to fuck up again. It's just as funny now as it was then. And I'm so rusty at this point at fighting games, that a chicken could beat my ass.

I agree with everyone on the scalpers, but I'm going to focus on a couple other points. 1) I'm a pro member at GameStop as well, and was told the same thing about special events, and early access when they got consoles in. I've never received a single email from them. Maybe @Rain Dew is the email they have on file, but she never clears her inbox, so it could be fucking buried in there somewhere. 2) You should wait anyway before buying one. Sure it's tempting to grab one as soon as you see it. But if you wait, the price will have gone down, there will be more games available, and bugs that have been found by gamers that Xbox missed will have been addressed and fixed for the new systems coming out at that time. Yes you can still down load games that should have no problems, but a lot of games that have exclusive special features only have those exclusives on a disc version. RDR2 Ultimate Edition is one example. So you would fare better to be patient. I know you don't want to. I don't want to either. But I have no intentions to buy one this year unless I know that those things have been addressed and I see a lot of PS5 games on the shelves.

TV Shows you watched when you were younger
The Blackangel replied to Joshua Farrell's topic in Movies & TV
I have a season of Spongebob on DVD for one reason and one reason only. Johnny Depp did a cameo in the episode Spongebob Squarepants vs The Big One in season 6 as Jack Kahuna Laguna. Which I also find interesting, maybe even fate, as I'm obsessed with both Johnny Depp and FF8. I also have season 8 of King Of The Hill for the exact same reason. Johnny Depp did a came in it as well. He appears in the episode Hank's Back as the character Yogi Victor. -
One of my favorites is this one: It's moving a lot faster than it should for some reason, so I'll see what I can do about slowing it down, but no promises.

Once we get our hands on a Series X we're not sure what we'll do with this one. We may keep it, or we may sell it. I'm thinking if we do sell it to ask a little less than what we paid for it. Maybe $250. We paid $287 for it. But we were dumb enough to not get a protection plan with it. Neither of us thought to, and the guy ringing us up didn't mention it. But they were busy as hell, so I'm sure it just slipped his mind instead of him neglecting to ask. Either way, we at least got the machine. My only question at this point is about Xbox One games. If you have games that you have that are DDL's on Xbox One, can you download them without having to buy them again on Xbox SeriesX/S? I ask because I have Tell Me Why on Xbox One, so I'm wondering how that will work. Also this thing only has 512g of space, so we're going to have to get an external hard drive to hook up to it. Can anyone suggest a good one? We tried using one before that was 1t, but it would only allow us to put one game on it. I think it was either Resident Evil or RDR2. And I know for a fact that neither of those games take a full terabyte of space.

It may seem as though there’s not many exclusive’s on the Switch, but I’m going to assume that all you have seen thus far is what’s on the shelves at GameStop. If you got one and checked the eShop, you will find hundreds. Especially if you sign up for Nintendo Online. That will give you access to a lot of titles from past systems such as NES & SNES. I currently have 118 DDL’s on my Switch, plus 30 something carts, many of which are multiple game carts. As for the graphics, I think you might be off a bit. For example, I have Skyrim on PS4, and Switch. The graphics are identical. Also have the game on PS3, but that’s another point. So I would recommend either getting one, or if you’re close to anyone who has one, asking them to let you poke around in the eShop on the promise that you aren’t buying but just trying to decide whether to buy one or not. Also it supports online play from anywhere. So as long as you have a good wi-fi connection, you and your friends can game together.

We went to Best Buy today with the intention of picking up some new headsets. By some stroke of fate, there was an Xbox Series S on the shelf. We both want a Series X but figured this could do until we find one of them, so we’re now caught up with the times as far as Xbox is concerned. The big shocker though? It was less than $300! There was no reason to not pick it up at that price.

I’m sure he prefers quality over quantity. But if we all start posting our best things we can, then maybe.

I used to make a lot of gif’s for different reasons. I haven’t done it for several years though as I’ve had neither reason nor need to.

Top 10 Weirdest Super Mario Power-Ups Ever
The Blackangel replied to The Blackangel's topic in Nintendo
The tanooki suit was definitely one of the strangest SMB3 had to offer. The Hammer Bros suit was the hardest one to use in terms of attacking your opponents in my opinion. -
It's definitely a GIF, unless a new file format has been developed for animated images that I'm unaware of.

Are retro games getting even more expensive?
The Blackangel replied to Kane99's topic in Video Games
There's actually very little chance of any being left in mint condition. Like I said, people were desperate to play it, and tore those boxes open before they even got the game home. You have a better chance of finding a rough draft of the constitution in your grandmothers attic. And it's not auction houses that determine the price of a rare and collectible game. It's the collectors. The one who owns it sets his price and refuses to let it go until someone agrees to his price. If they go through an auction house (and that's a big if), they can set a minimum price. If it doesn't meet that price, the item doesn't sell. It's supply and demand. The supply in this case is almost nil, whereas the demand is extremely high among the more serious collectors. Finding a mint condition, graded, CIB, copy of SMB3 is the holy grail. The only other NES cartridge that sells for more is the gold NES World Champion cartridge. It was a single cartridge awarded to the top champions during the NES tournament in 1990. They only made 26 of them. There is one on eBay right now going for two million. And it has almost 1500 people watching it. So there are people with the money that are willing to take the chance of a lifetime. If I had 2 million to blow, I would buy the damn thing. But I'm lucky if I can scrounge up even $2 to blow, let alone 2 millon. -
I'm going to assume that for the GTA Trilogy is encompasses GTA 1/2/3? The real question is with their age, are there any gamers left who even play the first three? There have been a lot of titles in the series, so I'm willing to bet the answer to that question is No. But as I have said before, I'm not the most educated on the GTA franchise, so those who are, I welcome anything you can tell me.

Are retro games getting even more expensive?
The Blackangel replied to Kane99's topic in Video Games
That, and a lot of those plot lines and game ideas have been abandoned since then. There is/was only one single game under that title, so there's no series to speak of. And some companies tried to release games, but with every attempt their games went from bad to worse, so they ended up going bankrupt and we never saw them again. But the good thing about games back then is that developers were willing to take the risk for something completely different and unique. Which is why I miss the era of the 80's to early 90's of gaming. But also why I still play it. -
113k would be great, but I'm thinking that with only 5 more days left in the year, 111k is going to be a more plausible number in my eyes. Sure this forum gets a shitload of posts every day, but being that at the time of me making this post (10:05AM 12-26-21), we're at 109k. So I don't think realistically that we'll pick up 4000 posts in 5 days.

You can buy them just about anywhere here. I don't know about what laws there are, but I do know that here where I live assault is legal. So I doubt there are any special law about the weapons.
