I think the loss of the million would be less devastating than the thought going through your mind "If only I had taken the hundred grand..." That to me would be more devastating, because the hundred grand was a guarantee, but you threw it away for bad odds at getting 1 million. And with that $100k, if you invest it right, you can easily turn it into more than 1 million. That amount of bank can grow quickly and massively. So you wouldn't really be missing that million for long.

Games that are harder on console (or PC)?

I thought Halo was an Xbox exclusive? -
Actual classic games. Not new games that were inspired by classic games.

What makes for good or bad AI in video games?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
The only exception I would have is turn based games, like FF8. The enemies do the same things in every fight. So that kind of game is an exception. But open world games if the enemy is completely predictable in every way, then it gets really boring. Hell in RDR2 I've had animals attack me, and I'm not talking about carnivores. Muskrats bite. Elk run you down. Pronghorn and whitetail deer will run your ass over as well. The chance of that happening is another kind of AI that makes the game so much better. -
I'll be in a wheelchair until the day I die. Due to my disease, there is no hope.
-
Would you rather eat healthily or exercise regularly?
The Blackangel replied to killamch89's topic in General Chat
I would go with healthy eating. If I wasn't in the wheelchair, I would be out hiking every day, so I would get the exercise. But I would need a good meal to keep going. So I would still take the food. I can't help it. I'm a foodie. -

I don't know what the thing is called, and due to my phobia I can't look it up because I would have to have the image for reference. So I'll take your word for it that it's the Shambler. And thank you again for checking things out for me. I really appreciate your help. -
Would you rather Live in space or under the sea?
The Blackangel replied to killamch89's topic in General Chat
This should be obvious for me. Space, definitely. No question about it whatsoever. Go traveling around to the different planets in our own solar system before heading out to the rest of the galaxy. After that, if I'm still alive check out other galaxies. Andromeda is really close to us (2.537 million light years) so I would most likely head there. For a little bit of reference, the speed of light is 186,000 miles per second. In the metric system, it is roughly 300,000 km per second. -
Fantasy and philosophy. But above all else would be Poe. His insight to the human heart and mind has never been rivaled before or since. I share his outlook on life, his emptyness. I almost feel like his reincarnation at times. He was a brilliant man. After him would be Shakespeare, Homer, and Plato.

It's the one you had in your post. I think it was the third picture you gave. -
I tend to ramble a lot when I get started talking. I've done it here a thousand times at least. I mean I do have almost 6k posts, so I mean that thousand times literally.

The 50/50 for $1,000,000 is tempting, but I would have to go with the guaranteed $100,000 as well. There's so much I could do with it, that I wouldn't be worried about losing any of it, because I would be investing it through a highly reputable stock broker. The rest of it I would blow on a few toys. Like my favorite car, and a couple collectibles that I have always wanted.

I had my girl check it out first for me, and she said she thought I could handle it. So I checked it out, and the downgrade in graphics is something I think I could handle. I'm just worried about encountering that main creature that is the one that caused me to make this post. -
Those of us that grew up on them that still play them talk about them often, and fondly. Classic gamers typically have no interest in going beyond a certain point, with an exception or two. People hear us talking about these games, and their curiosity gets peaked. Some check it out to figure out what the hell we're talking about. Others check it out to laugh at us for playing 2, 4, and 8 bit games. Whereas they're playing lifelike games. It's what brought out the flashback craze. Curiosity by modern gamers. The big 3 heard about the curiosity, made a mini system with roughly 30 games installed on it, and sold them. It's a shameful money grab, but it made them big bucks anyway. Obviously the NES flashback runs better than a 35 year old NES, but those of us that are 80's children and grew up on systems like Atari, Colecovision, and NES often prefer the old ones for nostalgic reasons. And the majority of us want to puke at the mere thought of a flashback console. I'm a classic gamer because those are the games that I have always enjoyed and developers weren't afraid to be unique with their games. Games like A Boy And His Blob haven't been seen since. There is no game on any disc system where you feed a blob jellybeans to turn it into things you need (ladder, umbrella, etc.) to help it get back to its home planet called Blobonia. Blaster Master had a couple piss poor sequels that flopped miserably. There were the classic beat 'em ups like Double Dragon that you don't see anymore. They have largely (if not completely) gone the way of the dodo in exchange for games like Mortal Kombat and other fighting games. The individuality and uniqueness is what made those games so special. Nowadays everything is a sequel. There's no individuality, and developers are scared to take a chance with something new and off the wall completely different and unique. That is largely part of the reason classic gamers are turned off by the new and current stuff. I won't lie, I play on my Switch constantly. It's great to have something that powerful that is portable. But I also play on my Game Boy. When I'm home I do play RDR2 a hell of a lot. But I spend an immensely greater amount of time on my NES, SNES, and N64 than I do on RDR2. That's about the only modern game I even play. I have 2 or 3 others that aren't on Switch that I play, but that's it. They're mainly system exclusives (GoW for example) but I will never give up what I grew up on. One thing that I look back on fondly is that I saved up literally every penny I could get to buy myself a SNES. I wanted one so desperately that I saved up for over a year. And when I finally brought that thing home, I couldn't get off of it.

Trust me this isn't a dream you want to have. It's the same one on the same day every year. It started when I was 14. And ever since then, I would happily welcome a nightmare, simply because it would mean that I had actually been dream.

Has anything ever offended you in a game?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
It was Fortnite? I thought it was Call Of Duty, or some other war game like that. -
It happens. It's not like we post pics and videos of ourselves on every post we make on here, so it's easy to misgender someone. It's not the first time I've corrected someone, and it won't be the last.

Thank you. You don't know how much I appreciate this. If it can be "downgraded" graphically, then it may be a small possibility. But I doubt it would be possible for me, as I would most likely be picturing the original image in my mind the entire time. -

It didn't bother me in the least. They got blown up. Boo fucking hoo. -
It's just a video meant to be creepy. I liked how somber the song was and wanted to make a video using it. Most of the pictured I found on a google search, but some of them I took myself. There are so many cemeteries and graves that are forgotten that I wanted to make a video incorporating that. That's why it's called Forgotten Sorrow.
