I've been to every island in the Caribbean except Cuba. I saw some remnants of the devastation of Katrina years after her, and it was mind boggling. I saw the destruction of the F5 after it hit Joplin as that's just a couple hours from me. The entire state of Missouri was freaked out. We get tornadoes a lot, but never any that big. Typically, we don't see anything over an F2. Just something enough to throw light debris around and maybe spin your car around. At one of the lakes here, there was a "ride" called Tornado. What it was, was basically a high pressure fan that would push you up a conical tube that looked like a tornado and shoot you out into the water. You had to be 21 and sign a waiver to ride it. Mainly because you could get pretty damn high, and after you pass a certain height, hitting water is like hitting concrete. It was shut down at the end of the season.

Just when you thought EA and FIFA couldn't get worse... #EAgate

I'm gonna get smacked for this. 2 years at this forum and I have to ask: BF? I know that's not boyfriend. -
Does anyone else here have a game that they want to rave on and on about, but don't because it would involve tons of spoilers and ruin it for others who haven't had the opportunity to play it yet? I do. I would love to go on and on about every part and aspect of Red Dead Redemption 2, but there are members here who haven't had the opportunity to play it, and I would end up ruining the game for them. I don't want to do something like this: There are things I could mention when I talk about the game, but I avoid it. I hate spoilers as much as anyone here, and probably more than some. I'm one of the "can dish it out but can't take it" kind. I'm a bitch sure enough. But I do have a little bit of common sense. So when I talk about the game, I try to choose my words very carefully, so as to avoid any spoilers. I'm sure I've fucked up on that a few times, but I do try my best. Anyway, what's a game you wish you could go on about all day, in great detail?

Why aren’t more games made in first/third person?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
That's something I have pointed out about RDR2. You can customize just about everything for Arthur and his horse, but in first person you can see none of it. There are loads of different outfits, and you can mix and match all you want when you have them in your possession. Stuff you can buy in town or things you can get from the trapper after you have brought him the hides he needs. But if you're playing in first person, you will just be wasting your money doing so. The only thing I customize as far as that all goes is my saddle. Different saddles affect your horse's stats. Everything from the horn, to the stirrups. It all makes a difference. There is one thing you can customize, and for the life of me I can't figure out why. The saddle blanket. You never see just the blanket. You see a microscopic bit of it poking out from under the saddle. It has no affect on any of your horses stats, so I don't know why the hell that one even matters. You can also customize your horse a bit on their mane and tail. You can color it and choose the length and style. I do it with a couple of my horses to distinguish them from other horses. But if you're in first person and would do it cosmetically, that's a moot point as you will never see it. I've been trying to play Skyrim for a while, and I do it in third person, and the controls are so wonky that I have a hard time playing the game. If the controls were better, the game would hold more allure. But even in third person the controls act and look like first person. You can't walk sideways in RDR2. Thankfully. -
What makes you need a break from a particular game?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I think if we spend a full day gaming, then at some point later in the day, we instinctively know when it's time to quit. The game gets boring, regardless of what missions there are to do. So to avoid complete burnout, we just quit for the day. Come back the next day or a couple days later, and we're good to go. For example I haven't played RDR2 for a couple days. I'm going to play it after I get done with the internet for today. But for the moment, there's enough that I want to do online. For example, I LOVE watching YouTube videos about RDR2. There's a lot of spoilers in them for people who have never played the game, but that's a moot point for me, as I have played the hell out of the game. -
Top 20 Worst Movies Based on Video Games
The Blackangel replied to The Blackangel's topic in Gaming Forum
The first Mortal Kombat movie was actually pretty good. The biggest problem I had with the sequel was the recasting of almost all the characters. The only ones that returned for their characters was Robin Shou who played Liu Kang, and Talisa Soto who played Kitana. Everyone else was someone new. -
Pain vocals in video games that sound embarrassingly like sex

I have that game wanking simulator. Lets just say it's different. -
O'Driscolls and Lemoyne Raiders. There's literally an infinite supply of them, so you're never going to kill the whole gang. But god damn, are they supposed to be so stupid that a brain dead monkey could kill them all? They can't ride, they can't shoot, they don't know what it is to take cover, and they run their mouths more than they fight. Give me something else please!

The water temple in Zelda OoT. Changing boots every few seconds, changing the water level constantly, going through the same room multiple times. It's just the same fucking thing, over and over and over. And to top it off, the boss key is so damn well hidden, that without a guide, you're most likely never going to find it, unless you're the luckiest son of a bitch alive.

Quests/areas that over-stay their welcome
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I absolutely hate St Denis in RDR2. That town is the most worthless metropolis any game has ever had. I can't stand it. And nothing good or enjoyable happens there. Unless you're the type that likes towns where every citizen is a karen, and likes to start fist fights with you. And what happens after the fight? I end up with a fucking assault and disturbing the peace charge for defending myself. FUCK YOU ST DENIS -
What makes you need a break from a particular game?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I had to quit RDR2 last night. I guess you could call it rage quitting. I had caught and broke the warped brindle Arabian and broken her. Before I could even ride her, a pack of fucking wolves ran up, which caused her to buck me off and run away. If I had had 5 seconds to switch my saddle from the horse I rode up there (red chestnut Arabian) to her, it would have bonded us. But no. So I have to go through the whole thing again. And I swear if the same thing happens with the fucking wolves, I will put a bullet through my PS4. I was so far beyond enraged, that my dogs in the living room were getting scared. I made it up to the dogs, but I was so pissed off. -
Bizarre games that are supposedly very good?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
One of the weirdest games I ever played was Marble Madness on NES. I don't know what the developers at Midway were smoking when they came up with it, but it was popular as hell when it came out. -
Back when I could walk, I HATED walking. I wanted another way to get around, and I didn't care what it was. Now I would give my arms to be able to walk.
-
I walk or ride at the slowest pace in RDR2 a lot. It's relaxing to just go out on a ride, or to take my time getting to a town. Taking in the scenery, and just a relaxing ride is one of the best things about the game. I used to do it when I was a kid. But I always rode bareback, so that makes a bit of a difference. I just didn't like saddles.

Why aren’t more games made in first/third person?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Probably because game devs follow a specific recipe with their games. I can't imagine someone playing Zelda in first person. To my knowledge AC would be really messed up in complete first person. Unless there's a game that I missed somewhere. It all depends on the specific game. Some can easily support both formats and the game plays just fine for the gamer. Others would just not look or play well in another view. I'm willing to bet that no one here even wants to try to picture what Doom would look like in third person. -
Pre-order benefits that were worth it?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I have two. One that I actually pre-ordered, and another that was a pre-order that I bought off eBay years later. The one I got was For Honor. I got the gold edition. It had special items, armor, weapons, characters, and so on that were only available with the gold edition. The other that I bought later on eBay was RDR2 Ultimate Edition. It also gives you certain items free and unlocks other side quests and stranger missions. The ultimate edition goes a step past the special edition. The special edition does all this for the story mode, but the ultimate also does it for the online mode. Everyone knows I don't do online gaming. The only reason I got the ultimate was because it was the only one that was available that the code hadn't been used on. But even though the RDR2 copy was almost $200, I still say it was worth it. -

We're all basically bent over a table with our pants around our ankles. Our ass is getting smaller, and the dick is only getting bigger as time goes on. -
I can say that arcades are on the way back. Just look at these pics I took at the mall today.
