I tend to buy my clothes at Walmart and Torrid. There I look for what's comfortable and what's cute. I'm plus size, so I often can't find clothes at Walmart other than t-shirts and occasionally shorts. Most everything else, I have to spend the extra money and go to Torrid. It's the only straight up plus size store in the area. There are several department stores like Dillards and JC Penny, but their plus size sections are microscopic and way over priced. For me comfort beats everything. Brand means absolutely nothing to me. Hell, I've gotten just about every purse I own at Walmart. They have no real name brand. At least not that I've ever noticed.

Have you ever fallen asleep with the lights on?

More than I can count. Many that I refuse to mention. -
When watching TV do you have the light on or off?
The Blackangel replied to ZandraJoi's topic in Movies & TV
Due to how photosensitive I am, I have to keep the lights off. The only lights I can really use, and not have a shitload of issues with are black lights. Inside my house I wear sunglasses, and have the brightness on all my devices set to the lowest it can go. I have light blocking curtains on all the windows to try to keep my house in eternal night. It helps, but isn't a permanent solution. -
Just a curiousity question. Is there any kind of significant meaning behind the different spellings for the sport? Futbol and Football? Is it a region thing?

Because that's how life works. Things happen without any prior notice. You write with emotion, not intention. The only thing anyone can plan for is death. We will all end up there. It's just a question of how. And when.

Games that you couldn't understand but were still fun to you
The Blackangel replied to Patrik's topic in Video Games
Metroid - I never knew what I was supposed to be doing, or where I was supposed to be going, but still enjoyed the hell out of it. Conker's Bad Fur Day - There's a thousand areas to explore that lead to another thousand areas, with no defined path of any kind to follow. If you stumble on a "boss" of any kind, then so be it. But still one of the most fun games ever made. -
I know my gaming laptop was $4,000. But so far, it's been worth every penny. I still game on the old stuff primarily, but this is the best laptop for gaming that I have ever seen. I made sure to get the extended warranty with it. It cost a couple hundred extra on top of the $4k I paid for the computer itself, but was a no-brainer.

GTA is a series available on multiple platforms, and GTA V is a sequel. Not what this thread is looking for.

I used to meditate quite often. I was even asked to lead a small group, as I knew how to achieve astral travel. But it never actually helped me in resting. -
Post your favorite unique game videos. By "unique" I mean games that appeared once, on one system, and never had a sequel. That one game was it. Games that led eventually to other ideas are fine, but they must not have their own direct sequel and must only appear once on a single system.

Being a child of the early 80's, Atari was king until the NES hit the western market. I was hooked by Nintendo immediately. Their exclusives like SMB and Zelda were instant favorites of mine. They also had a much wider range of games and much more unique games that weren't available on other platforms like Sega. So I was a Nintendo girl from the beginning. And up until the Game Cube, I was loyal as hell. I hated both the Game Cube and the Wii. So around that area is when I started branching out to other systems like Playstation. I've always hated Xbox, but there is an Xbox exclusive that I felt like I needed (turns out I DID need it) so I have an Xbox One for that one single game alone. I have recently become somewhat addicted to RDR2. I have it for Xbox and Playstation. My personal bias towards Xbox aside, I honestly feel that the game plays much better on Playstation. A lot of it is due to the controller design. The rest is things like the game running smoother and the graphics being more crisp and clean. In essence, the graphics are more realistic on Playstation over Xbox. But as for my early years, I was a loyal Nintendo player. Prior to my first NES I had a Colecovision, but didn't appreciate it at the time. What a fool I was.

Does the TV being on count as light? I always play a DVD when I go to bed. Futurama, Family Guy, or American Dad. I can't go to sleep otherwise. The TV distracts my brain and keeps it from running wild, which would keep me awake. I also have never had a problem going to sleep with the light on, as long as I had something to shield my eyes. -
@Empire You're not going to get too much for $400. Decent looks at the moon, and maybe a bit of a clearer look at Mars due to how close it is to Earth. @killamch89 I would recommend a Celestron NexStar. Mine is a 5se which means it has a 5" lens. @ZandraJoi has an 8se which means she has an 8" lens. Hers is more powerful than mine obviously, but I still have a great look at the solar system, and several things beyond, such as nebulae and a few other galaxies. Andromeda is really amazing to see. It's also easy to spot since it's the closest galaxy to the Milky Way. There are others that, if you time it right, you can get a shot of them in one. Here's a pic of Andromeda that was taken through by a simple astronomy lover, like myself and @ZandraJoi through their telescope.

When I had my macaw he would randomly call people “asshole”. It eventually became a badge of honor to have him spontaneously call you one. I recommend against getting a parakeet. They’re panicky, high strung, clumsy, and tend to hurt themselves easily. If you want a bird get something a little bigger like a conure or cockatiel. I have a conure, and my girl has a cockatiel. They’re calm as hell and much easier to handle. The only exception is my conure hates everyone except me. If anyone tries to handle her she will flat out attack them. I’m the only one she will let handle her.

I would go back to the golden era of gaming. The 80's to early 90's. That was the last time games had any individuality or innovation. They were unique, and completely different. Nowadays, everything is a sequel. There's nothing new that hasn't been overdone a hundred times. It's all the same thing rehashed with a new name. I understand that there can be a good idea to follow with a franchise, but at least give it some fucking diversity. Just look at Castlevania. It doesn't exist anymore. The last time I remember a Castlevania game was PS3. That's 2 generations ago. Now, everything is some form of Call Of Duty style game, or Grand Theft Auto game. Why are there no unique games? Everything is a god damn ripoff or a fucking sequel. Game developers need to grow some fucking balls and take a chance with something new and unique.

Naturally, I'm nocturnal. But these days, due the the MD, I'm usually so worn out and tired that I go to bed somewhere between 7:00 to 8:00 at night. Then I don't usually wake up until 9:00 to 10:00 in the morning. I don't have a lot of time awake anymore. Nine hours or so. My body is wearing out. I'm scared that before long, I won't even have the physical strength to handle a controller and play any games. It's already happening with my keyboard. I have to stop what I'm doing, and take both hands sometimes to press down a single key.

I watch NBC. I watch our local news, and the NBC Nightly News. Other than that, I get my news online from a few actually reputable sources. A YouTube channel I'm subscribed to that has reliable sources and gives unbiased credible news is The Humanist Report. His news is well worth watching, and he covers everything from politics, to pop culture. I watch several of his videos daily. -

"State Run" is a term that often means corrupt. Fox is a republiKKKlan corporation. They don't report actual news, they are a right wing heavily biased fake news company. They are heavily run by anti-Democrat, anti-democracy, fascists. These people are wanting to get a system where Democrats are imprisoned, or at the very least barred from being able to vote or run in any elections. They are the same treasonous terrorists that attacked the Capitol on January 6th. They called the attack a "heroic action to save America." They incite the right wing lunatics to pull shit like this, as often as they can, because they are right wing lunatics themselves. It's treason, terrorism, and war. -
