Name a game you've played you doubt anyone here has heard of
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Video Games
Yes that's the Mario Bros I'm talking about. people ALWAYA assume I'm talking about SMB, and try to convince me that I'm wrong. It seriously pisses me off, when I can show them the god damn game cartridge and they still say I'm talking about SMB. -
FF8 for several hours today, then Castlevania: SOTN for the last few.

Snacks, Junk Foods and Fast Foods perfect for gamers

Zaxby’s boneless nuclear chicken. It’s more addictive than crack. -
Where are some unusual places you’ve been?
The Blackangel replied to Aerielle del Rosario's topic in General Chat
I would say that one of the most unusual places I've been was an old forgotten cemetery that was way off in the woods. The most recent tombstone had a death date in 1927. It was also the only marble headstone. The rest were all limestone, and quite a few of them were civil war soldiers. -
How much are you willing to pay for a console?

What is the actual difference between the new Switch and the initial Switch? So far I haven't found anything that makes me think the new one is anything special. -
Possible Gaming Trends This Year?
The Blackangel replied to Aerielle del Rosario's topic in Video Games
Daniel Logan was telling me a few days ago that he did some voice overs and his face was used in a game recently. I don't remember the game, and I don't think it's been released yet, but it's most likely a Star Wars game. -
The reboots I think are entirely aimed at the gamers that enjoyed the game the first time around. The developers are using updated technology, and slicker graphics to try to capitalize on the success they had when the game initially came out. Remember FF7? That game was so massively successful it pretty much blew the world away. I could be way off on this, but isn't it listed as the most successful Final Fantasy game to date? So they look at that, and think "Lets do it again! We'll be wiping our ass with $100 bills just for fun!".

Name a game you've played you doubt anyone here has heard of
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Video Games
OMG I had forgotten all about Pooyan. I played that game so much I had dreams about it for weeks on end. My fingers were moving in the motions of playing the game all day even if I wasn't anywhere near a video game. Like when I was at school. I would drift off and start playing the game in my mind and completely blank out from what was happening around me. I wish I still had it, but at the same time I'm glad I don't -
Yup. I knew that would be an easy one. WEGG

I have never heard of Underta. I tried googling the game, including screenshots but couldn't find anything. What kind of game is it? -
Let’s play a game. The rules of the game are quite simple. You post only the initials of a movie and people have to guess what the movie is. For example Star Wars: A New Hope would be SWANH. No words can be left out if they’re part of the title. The movie must have a minimum of 4 words in the title. Ready? Set? Go! KKFOS

Depends. Are you looking for specifics for a certain situation or mood, or something that encompasses everything? If it’s something that encompasses everything, then look no further than a white pit bull named Lady.

I think there’s an even balance between PC gamers and console gamers. I’m not going to pretend I know why one person prefers one platform over another, but I think one possible reason a lot of people prefer PC is because it’s a lot easier to modify and upgrade a PC than a console. Nostalgia plays a role too on the other side. I stick to consoles, because I want the memory of playing some of my favorite games as a child. With emulators it’s just an empty waste of time for me. It’s the same reason I can’t play flashback systems. It’s just not the same because it’s not the real thing. It’s the sort of the same reason a lot of people are going nuclear about so called “frankenfoods”.

I’ve been at Crypticon for the last few days so unfortunately I don’t really remember the last game I was on. I’m not all that big on mobile games, with the exception of things like Game Boy and other hand held systems. But I left them at home because I couldn’t find my god damn games.

The Reason Why Lootboxes Need To Be Banned
The Blackangel replied to killamch89's topic in Gaming News
Diversity is not a bad thing. There’s going to be things that one demographic will be interested in that another won’t. It’s a good policy to include everyone. Also, no one is forcing anyone to buy anything. If it’s something you don’t want, don’t buy it. -
The only food I ever wanted to try was escargot. I got the opportunity to try it a few years ago. Once you get past the fact that it’s a god damn snail, it’s actually really good. As for food that I still want to try, I would love to try rattlesnake. I would try a Carolina Reaper, if I wanted to die an extremely painful death. One thing I have had that’s really good, provided it’s cooked right by someone who knows what the hell they’re doing, is mudbugs.

Legacy Of The Wizard Blaster Master Mario Bros (NOT SMB!!!) Taboo The Sixth Sense (supposedly a cursed game) -
Sad, but true. The old games like that just don’t have enough action to entertain the current generation of gamers in even the smallest way. Kids that are used to games like Skyrim, would never be held by SMB1, or Sonic.

It’s chunky, spicy-sweet, and really smooth.

When you're not the hero of the story?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Video Games
A lot of the games I play aren't hero based. They're old classics like Galaga, Bubble Bobble, & Q*Bert. There's other games like Conker's Bad Fur Day, Earthworm Jim, & any cartoon based game. The hero based games that I do play (Zelda, FF8, etc) I'm always in full control of the character. It's basically an extension of myself into another universe and time. I honestly can't recall a game that I play regularly where I'm not in full control. -
What do you miss most about older games?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Video Games
That's true. I grew up in the Atari and Colecovision era. The NES didn't come out until I was in grade school. And I remember everyone being blown away by the graphics because they were so detailed and so advanced. A bit of a joke now isn't it? And the library for the system was absolutely enormous. To this day I'm always coming across games that I've never even heard of. For example there was one a couple years ago that I hadn't heard of. Everyone has played Contra. A lot of us have played Super C. But how many have played Contra Force? That is one that I had never heard of and, yes, it's on the NES. -
Favorite cold item to make on a hot day?
The Blackangel replied to killamch89's topic in General Chat
I always doubled up the recipe for Kool-Aid. 2 flavor packets and a minimum of twice the sugar. Unfortunately I can't drink it now simply because of the sugar. I got told several years ago that I was in the pre-diabetes stage, which scared the shit out of me. I cut sugar out of my diet almost entirely. To this day I'm actually afraid of sugar, because diabetes is one disease that I've been afraid of getting all my life. The only other one is Alzheimer's. I'm not worried about anything like cancer. That and heart disease run in my family. So I expect them eventually. -
I wanted some nachos one day when I was a teenager, but wanted something that was more than just melted cheese. So I got a little of this, and a little of that, and ended up with one hell of a nacho recipe.

It's an absolutely gorgeous part of the world, but can be lethal for people who over heat easily, like myself. I start overheating at about 75°. I went back a couple years ago, but it was over xmas, so the temp was significantly lower than before. The funny thing is that the day before our flight a sheet of ice hit the entire state. All planes were grounded. It took, if I remember correctly, more than 30 crews working on the runways constantly around the clock to have the runways clear enough for incoming planes to land. There were planes coming in internationally that had no idea of the ice until it was too late. All national flights to St Louis were canceled. We actually missed the first leg of the cruise, but were able to catch up with the ship at the first docking.
