Ubisoft launches 'playable' NFTs in its video games
Shagger replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
I'm confused about this as well. It looks like some sort of attempt by Ubisoft to control the external market influencing their in-game economy's, but as you demonstrate it just doesn't look very well thought-out. -
Sadly, the situation just is what it is for now. The demand will drop and the scalpers will either stop or sell thier stock of consoles at retail or better to get rid of them. But please, as hard as it is, do not give in and buy from a scalper. The console will only be as it's best with selection of games to justify owning it next year at the earliest anyway.

Ah, yes, the Digital Homicide fiasco, they more like Digital Suicide really. I remember that well.

It's never as well publicised, but a lot of shady shit happens within the indie game scene. Asset flipping, crowdfunding scams, prejudice (like denying game keys to people because the support pride on social media), suing over bad reviews, DMCA abuse against YouTubers who call them out, it's all happened before. The Sentinels of the Store and YouTubers like SidAlpha sadly have plenty of to talk about and are kept busy by indies for, unfortunately, very good reasons.

Who wants to spend thier gaming literally doing a chore What next? Wash the dishes simulator? Vacuuming Simulator? I agree with @The Blackangel, this simulation shit has gone well beyond far enough.

Yeah, as @m76 said there are quite a few games that use procedural technology (or more specifically procedural generation) to build environments and place objects within a game world. There even games built up entirely by procedural generation, like No Man's Sky. It is potentially is a very cool Idea as it leaves the potential for a game to be truly limitless when it comes to the size of the environments and what can be found within the game, but of course somebody was going to use it out of sheer laziness like Grove Street Games did on the GTA Trilogy.

Because whilst you got that Senua as mentally ill, you failed to fully understand how that was researched and then incorporated into the game through the story and even the gameplay itself. I can't be bothered explaining this to you because I know it's a waste of time, but check out this kind on mini-review I posted in another topic that I think was before you arrived here, maybe that will help. Now, goodnight.
-
The cut scenes were, not the voices in her head The fitness of Senua was hardly the theme. It get's mentioned a lot in the dev diary's because it changed on no less than two occasions and the wanted to make clear what the focus was with the design (realism over style, mostly), but it's not the heart and soul of the character. We're well aware of how you stand on the representation of woman in video games and you wanted the body of a fitness model over the more regular looking woman. It's embarrassing enough on your part without lying about it. I'm only offering some constructive critique here. It's up to you how you take it it. You can try and learn from it or you can go back to your pram and throw your toys out, it doesn't matter to me. EDIT: I realised I made a mistake. I meant for must last to posts to be one post, I must have messed up. Apologies for any confusion.

Actually, you're the one who didn't research this accurately. They changed the body twice. First they replaced very first digitally created model with a body scan of a fitness model named Vikki Wild, like you said. However, some time after casting Melina a new of scan Melina's body was used instead and that became the basis for the final model. Melina did go through six weeks of training to improve her BMI before the scan, but the body is very much hers, and her physique is different in the way I described even after the training. It's all in the dev diary below. EDIT: I apologise the the video is age restricted.

Take-Two is suing developers of It Takes Two over name dispute
Shagger replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
Nobody would mistake "It Takes Two" the game with "Takes Two Interactive", especially in 2021 because "It Takes Two" is good game, something "Take Two Interactive" has forgotten how to make. This is just another petty, bully of cooperation. It's wrong and they know it. -
I read your review, and there are just a couple of things I want to bring up. Hellblade is very much sold on the mental health of the main character being a massive part of the story, themes and even gameplay mechanics. It is literally the primary theme, but you barley brought that up when criticizing how they handled the combat and puzzle sections. It's difficult to take what you say seriously when it looks like you didn't really understand what Ninja Theory were trying to do. It's clear from this quote, that you just didn't get it. Well, that's not what they were. The voices in her heard were literally that, symptoms of her psychosis and schizophrenia. The second problem I've got is with what you said about Senua's body type; True enough, Ninja Theory did have a more muscular body all but completed, but then they started doing test shots for Senua using their video editor within thier PR department, Melina Juergens. They ended up loving her performance of the character so much they decided to cast her for the role. They then made changes to Senua's body model to better fin Melina's more slender physique. Yet, for some reason, you omit this detail from your review. For someone who claims to had followed the development of the game closely for years, I find it impossible to believe you didn't know this, so why not bring this up? If you thought that using a bigger built body type for the character would have worked better then that is fine, you even be right, but I just think that was little dishonest that you neglected to mention why it was changed. Me though, I'd say the change and Milina's casting was a good call. The more slender physique I felt added a certain vulnerability to the character that suited the very daunting mood of the combat and story much better. Then there wan Melina's performance that was very well received buy both gamers and critics alike that even won her voice over of the year at the game awards. That is kind of the third problem for me. You said you didn't like the voice over, strange to me as I thought it was incredibly well done, with creative shots and lighting that really sold the uncomfortable tone of the story. You barley brought up the story and voice acting in the review and those were too important in Hellblade to push to the back. That is especially true if you're opinion on those elements goes against the grain. It's perfectly OK if you didn't like them, that's your opinion, but you have to explain that better because what it looks like by not explaining it. It looks like you're just bitter over the design change of the character. I'm not saying that's the truth, but that's how it looks. Overall, you review didn't show me that you had full understanding to the game's theme's, the message it was trying to convey and how it all tied into the story and gameplay mechanics. Sorry, but that's the truth.

The "Hot Coffee Mod" was a sex mini game in GTA San Andreas, but was never actually released to players to avoid the game getting an "Adults Only" rating that Rockstar and Take Two believed would hurt sales. The mini game couldn't be removed from the game, so code referencing the explicit sexual content was inevitably was found by data miners when the game launched on the PS2 in 2004. The game was released on PC a year later and people immediately confirmed the the exitance of the sex mini game and after just two days a modder by the name of Patrick Wildenborg released a patch to unlock the mini game online. Players, as you can imagine, found Hot Coffee amusing, but Rockstar and Take Two weren't laughing at all. Despite the fact the release of Hot Coffee wasn't actually thier fault, the game was re-rated by the ESRB and OFLC (Australian Office of Film and Literature Classification) to an adults only rating causing the game to be pulled from store shelves and even banned completely in Australia. Rockstar recalled retail copies of the game and released a new version that blocked access to Hot Coffee and also blocked Hot Coffee on PC through patching, but the damage was already done. Take Two, already under investigation over insider trading, face further investigations by the Federal Trade Commission, a number of civil lawsuits, lost over $160 million over the scandal and even cost thier CEO Ryan Brant his job.

As long as the service is only available on PlayStation Consoles, it will have a hard time competing with Gamepass as that also works on Windows PC's.

Horizon Zero Dawn and the newer Tomb Raider games I tend to do this in.

I don't think the fans are frustrated with this Santa Claws skin instead of being focused on the fact the game is broken, I suspect that they are frustrated with this Santa Claws skin because the game is broken. Instead of sorting this out, EA and DICE are coming out with nonsense DLC/microtransactions like this. I don't blame the fans for blowing up about this.

Yes it is available on PC as well Through Steam.

Imagine playing a Final Fantasy game where you didn't play the story at all and were thrown straight into the endgame content? That would be ridiculous, right? Well, that's exactly what PS+ subscribers and Epic Games users can expect when they are offered Godfall this December. A version of an action RPG with the story missions completely removed in what is called "The Challenge Edition" with only the optional endgame content left behind. More details from PushSquare. I was looking forward to playing this, and I'm very disappointed, but more importantly very concerned about this. A lot of games have thier DLC expansions and deluxe editions and so on that offer more content than the base game. That means that game companies can still earn some revenue from the games offered by these subscriptions, and I don't grudge that. Whether you agree with that or not, the fact is they are what they are. It's fair enough I feel that services like PS+ only ever offer the base game, but creating a version with a very deceptive title that's only a portion of the base game for PS+ users set's a bad precedent. Is what we are supposed expect from PS+ and other similar services from now on? Paying to play partial games, because you DO pay for PS+ titles, don't be deluded. So it's obvious what Gearbox are doing, they're offering people a taste in the hope people will then purchase the full game. Well, that isn't a new thing, once upon a time they were called DEMO'S! And they were free! This is not what services like PS+ were supposed to offer and I sadly feel this is the start of a detrimental change to these services. What do you guys think about this?

I'm not sure what is to be said about me with regard to this, but I think this is absolutely brilliant!

WSJ Report Alleges Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick Hid Knowledge of Misconduct
Shagger replied to PGen98's topic in Gaming News
I like to try and remain level headed, especially as a mod, but on this occasion I can't and must ask, what the FUCK is wrong with you?! This isn't employees having a piss and moan about the length of thier coffee breaks, an unflattering dress code or not being allowed pictures of thier pets on thier desk. This is about physical assault, sexual assault, rape, harrasment, discrimination, crunch and a culture at the company that not only did nothing but actually endorsed it through management's actions and inactions. One woman was driven to suicide, another had her life threatened by the boss for daring to speak up and you're gonna seriously say that that they're just supposed to either put up with it or quit? You're disgusting. -
I'm locking this topic as there is a four page long thread already on VGR about basically the same thing.
