You disappoint me. With a name like Kingpotato it just feels wrong for you to anything other than ruler of couch potatoes. Joking aside, good for you mate.
  2. I assume you're talking about the 2600. Atari launched three consoles through the 80'. First, the very successful 2600 (Originally launched as the Atari Video Computer System or Atari VCS in 1978. Rebranded as the 2600 in 1982); The cumbersome and rubbish 5200 in 1982; And the decent, but somewhat overshadowed 7800 in 1986: Because it was by far the most successful of the three, I'm gonna assume you're talking about the 2600. The 2600 was actually my first console. I think is was about 1989 maybe 1990. We were living temporary housing, basically a caravan, because our house was being renovated. We got this a Christmas present and remember playing this "32 in 1" cartage with games like Combat and a number of spots games on it.
  3. Rockstar has issued an apology for the state of this game on thier official website alongside announcements for planned fixes and patches alongside an announcement the original, classic versions titles are going to go back up for sale on PC and offered freely for anyone who purchased the definitive edition on PC. I love how they worked in the phrase "unexpected technical issue" like they didn't know the games were busted when they released them. As apologies go, this feels weak to me, but at least they are putting the old games back up for sale again on PC (even though only through thier own store and not steam or anything), but what about the mods they were taking down? It is also disappointing, but not surprising, to learn that developers are being harassed online and there is never an excuse for that and it needs to stop. It only make it less likely these ass holes will actually listen when people do that.
  4. Algebra was always a strong suit of mine. My mind just clicked to it. I just got the idea that the number is a letter easily. That problem you posted, however, is unsolvable, only half the sum is actually there. As for the rest, there isn't much I can say as the way further education in America is funded in terms of what financial support can be made available looks quite different to what is available here. All I can say is seek advice from whatever agencies are out there to offer said advice.
  5. I've given it a go, but very recently. Maybe the game hasn't aged well, but the controls felt very basic, yet very vague. The set up and story seemed sound and was looking forward to seeing more, but I couldn't get over how the game felt to play.
  6. I think is is a good idea. I'm not sure how well this would fit on a forum for a website that publishes gaming articles already, but I do like this. The tools seem to be thier on the forum already to recommend posts and so on, so this would be fairly straightforward to implement. What do you think @DC?
  7. I've got a few retro consoles tucked away, but right now I'm only really active on XB1, PS4 and a gaming laptop. In total, maybe around 10-12.
  8. Oddworld: Abe Odyssey is the sort of difficulty that I really hate. It's the "From Software" approach gone nuts. Everything and trial and cryptic bullshit I hat that approach because it isn't a test of anything that is of value to a gamer. Not skill, not timing, not strategy, just patience. All you need to beat them is time. Because of that that, I refuse to even call games with that approach to difficulty "challenging". Battletoads is worthy of a number 1 spot on that list for sure, but as least that game is hard because it demands skill, timing and good command of the controls, rather than "Here's two levers. One will kill you, the other will open the door. Pick one."
  9. Since when were EA and Ubisoft popular? Gamers the world over despise them and for good reason. They're the unwanted entity involved with publishing popular games, but those companies are not popular.

    Ask DC

  11. No, I do not. To me, religion is for people who want to relinquish responsibility for what they say, don't say and even what they think and feel within themselves to some, so called, "higher power". I just don't need that. Reality asks the provocative questions and simultaneously provides the most evocative answers. Don't get wrong, I see Christianity, Islam, Judaism or any of the others as "evil" or anything, far from it in fact, it's people that twist thier teachings and lessons to suit thier own agenda's, but I just feel I need them to guide me.
  12. I remember @Crazycrab posting about this game. Something that loads into an empty webpage when the internet is down. Of course, that would have to be somewhat limited, right? Well, Opera GX now have thier own equivalent and, em, let's just say it's more ambitious... You can try it out here.
  13. No problem. In reply to what you actually asked, he defiantly should. I can't believe the board is standing with him on this. He lied to them! Every minute that monster is still the CEO of Activision is proof that company couldn't care less about how they treat thier employees. Sexual assault, pay discrepancies based of gender, harassment and bullying to the point employed commit suicide and even Bobby himself trying to sweep it all under rug to the point of even personally threatening the life of someone for speaking up. What the hell is wrong with this company?
  14. @Heatman Again, a thread discussing pretty much this exact same thing as this already exists, so I'm merging the threads together.
  15. Needing to log into Facebook to use Oculus Rift was a steaming pile of bullshit from minute one and I'm glad they're getting rid of that. A VR headset and a social media account don't connect in any at all, so why they decided it was necessary to log into to Facebook to use the damn thing was mind boggling and I guarantee you that hurt the sales of the Oculus Rift headset.
  16. @killamch89 I've merged your thread with this already existing one as the two threads were about basically the same thing.
  17. I just want to point out the game is also available on PlayStation and Xbox if that's what you prefer.
  18. I saw ReviewTechUSA report on this as well. Why am I not all suppressed to find that this man is a monster? Why am I not surprised to find him to be a big part of the problem? However, why am I surprised to see his board and Activision's shareholders defending his and insisting he is the one to lead Activision toward a better image and to goal of creating a better workplace? They can't be this stupid! The man is a monster and he's going down. His personal reputation amongst his employees was already on the floor and if Activision is gonna survive this with even a shred of dignity intact, Bobby needs to go. People, and I do mean people, as in gamers of world need to stop buying Activision's games. Clearly the power that be at Activision don't care about workplace sexual harassment even up to the point where employees are driven to suicide and getting death threats form the CEO himself to keep quite about such harassment. All that matters is how much money Activision make with this monster at the helm.
  19. I published an earlier draft of my Review/Synopsis/Analysis of The Last of Us on reddit and/or on another forum before I came to VGR. If I understand the comment that @StaceyPowers made on the version I posted here (again, link above), she must have read that earlier draft from... wherever it was I posted it. Obviously, only @StaceyPowers herself can confirm if that's the case, but that's what I think happened. I will say this, VGR is only place to see everything I've written fully up to date.
  20. This has been discussed on VGR already, so I'm locking this thread.
  21. UPDATE: I've starting playing some of the endgame stuff and a rather pessimistic prediction I made with regard to the levelling system; Is, unfortunately, starting to ring true. It's maybe not as bad as I feared, but it is still going to be something of a nightmare. I'm at level 56 and know of challenges facing off against enemies at level 95. It may be the case that one will have play the game with New Game Plus in order to do some of this stuff.
  22. As I as sure most of you are aware, a collection of the PS2 era GTA games that have been "remastered" for modern hardware was released this week, and it's been a train wreck. There has been bad remasters before, Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning and Warcraft 3: Reforged come to mind, but I'm think this may be the worst. With bugs, glitches, performance issues and strange graphics that that make the games almost unplayable, that alone would be enough, but like KOA and Warcraft 3 they almost managed to ruin the old games buy pulling them from sale or "replacing" them with the new, inferior version. Rockstar have taken this even further by sniping mods for the old games as well, mods that look a hell of a lot better than what Grove Street Games could deliver. It only gets even worse from there. First there's the snarky attitude from Grove Street Game's CEO; The fact that PC players who bought the game can't access it right now and how Take Two and Rockstar are stalling on refunds, this really could be the worst. Anyone who, like me, almost bought this really dodged a bullet. This goes to show why you should never pre-order. Even when it's games that were "finished" 15-20 years ago, you can still trust the "AAA" game's industry to completely cock it up.
  23. Yeah, that's a slightly convoluted way to go about it. Honestly though, I'm still a very long way from convinced the anniversary edition is worth it anyway, especially on PC.
  24. I wouldn't call myself a reviewer, I've just done a handful for fun and out of passion now and then. Still, I'm very honoured @StaceyPowers that really means a lot to me.
  25. Emulation is not illegal in itself, but we are discussing emulation of PSP games and we all know that there is only one way to play such games on other devices unless they have been released on other platforms. So I must insist that this as far as this discussion goes on VGR.
