Underrated games when it comes to difficulty

I never thought that Hitman Blood Money would be so freaking hard even on the easy mode, like OMG, how i'm supposed to know i should wait for the guard for couple of minutes in a closet to get in the room to replace his gun with a real one to kill another guy in the teather!

But i still love the game hehe

I always remember seeing The Witcher 2 on many top ten rpgs of all time lists, but it has since been completely overshadowed by 3. I adore TW3, but I think 2 still deserves to be talked about more. Also Endless Legend, strategy games in general are more niche, but I think a lot of people should try the Endless series (especially Endless Space 2).

I would add "Masquerada of Songs and Shadows" as my personal 'most underrated game.' That game is depressing, because it shows that you can make an awesome game, but that doesn't mean anyone will buy it or play it. It is a 'real time with pause' team based rpg set in a Venice inspired world with a linear story. There are no dialog options you just watch the game like a movie.

Godhand also deserves to be on this list. It's a 3-D beat em up style game with a ridiculously steep learning curve. On top of that, the enemies do ridiculous amounts of damage and are quite smart so it was pretty difficult game.

I was never able to complete Ninja Gaiden II even at the normal difficult level. Once I hit the master Ninja, death is all but certain for me because they attack relentlessly to the point of paranoia.
