I stongly prefer PC gaming, but unfortunately, I think that the price of some parts like graphics cards will cause more people to go for consoles.
skyfire Posted November 26, 2021 Posted November 26, 2021 VR has potential to make the PC gaming turn into arcade gaming era. But VR is expensive it would take 15 years minimum for completely destroying PC gaming.
Justin11 Posted November 27, 2021 Posted November 27, 2021 Since not everyone can afford it, PC gaming will still be in-demand. Unless you see majority of the poor turning over night rich people, then majority will migrate to using more VR than PC.

StormyFire Posted December 27, 2021 Author Posted December 27, 2021 Many PC games can be played with VR, though, and PC runs games far better than consoles generally can. Thus, an increase in demand for VR would logically increase the demand for PC hardware, or so I believe. ^^
skyfire Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 PC is not just for gaming it has multi use. but using dedicated machine like console for gaming is suitable only for 1st world. so that argument only survives in 1st world. rest of the world continues to use PC for multiple use cases.

We may see streaming take over in the next 5-10 years. Which means we could see less consoles. I don't think we'll outright get rid of pcs, but I think consoles gaming will change a lot.

Empire Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 VR will continue to be a gimmick. It is not going anywhere. I think that gaming as a whole will continue to spiral more and more to a sterilized / mainstream formula of games targeted towards twitch streamers in the format of either very highly competitive/social games or very casual/laid back games with the emphasis on driving media platforms like Twitch which continue to grow more and more every year. This means that the best games will eventually become games that provide the best stream content. We are already starting to see this, especially with games like House Flipper.

They're not going anywhere either. And you're also wrong about them going extinct. They are still selling almost as well as they did the day they launched.
skyfire Posted January 1, 2022 Posted January 1, 2022 The malls that I am going around lately has no more of those boxes. They are taking the place in storage rooms now. I suppose this may vary based on places.
