Do you prefer reviews that focus on gameplay or themes?
kingpotato reacted to StaceyPowers for a topic
Continuing off of the discussion here, a review cannot possibly cover everything, at least not in-depth. So do you usually prefer: 1. A review which tries to cover everything, but can only do so with a small amount of detail. 2. A review which is focused primarily on elements like gameplay, graphic quality, mechanics, etc. 3. A review which is focused primarily on elements involving story, characters, and themes. Or, does it depend on the type of game you are playing? In my case, I think it depends on what type of game it is and what makes me interested in it. If a game interests me because of its gameplay mechanics, that’s probably what I want to read about. But if it is a game’s story that sounds interesting, then I am more interested in hearing about its themes and writing quality. In both cases, I prefer in-depth reviews that focus on just a few things. @Alyxx @The Blackangel @kingpotato @killamch89 @DylanC @skyfire1 point -
Bioware Moves Lead Devs From Anthem To Dragon Age 4

My case exactly - If they botch the Dragon Age 4 launch they'll do the same thing and leave the game in its unfixed state. You learn to expect this from EA.1 point -
Bioware Moves Lead Devs From Anthem To Dragon Age 4

Good thing I waited until at least a couple weeks after a game launches before I even consider buying a game. I also learned from the whole Star Wars Battlefront 2 fiasco so I know to give any EA title at least 2 months because they'll start to ruin the game within that timeframe.1 point -
Bioware Moves Lead Devs From Anthem To Dragon Age 4

Yeah saw it coming. Anthem has been left in the dust like an abandoned baby since launch. And it's sad cause people like me who genuinely loved the game get robbed of the chance to see what more content they had in store.1 point -
Nintendo Has Jumped On The Bandwagon...

You have a valid point there and I really hope they don't go full EA on us because Nintendo is one of the few top gaming companies that I still love for the quality of their games.1 point -

Probably about 10 hours several times, back when I used to play Halo 3 on the online multiplayer.1 point -
What video game companies treat their employees best?
killamch89 reacted to skyfire for a topic
I think most of the game companies are in rush schedule and they tend to make a lot of mistakes and issues on the human resource front because they have deadlines. So I think treatment and other things are likely to have their share of the issues in near time too. I don't think any company for that matter would be perfect.1 point -

Raptor claw, during my childhood I was a big fan of Dinosaurs and obviously because of Jurassic Park the Velociraptors where always the most badass predators.1 point -

If you were given the option of owning the largest Megalodon tooth ever discovered, or a Velociraptor claw (depiction from Jurassic Park) which would you choose? I'll throw in for this question that neither will cost you a penny, and both are absolutely priceless. 50 tons of gold aren't worth a fraction of what either is worth. Why would you choose one over the other? Something you might find interesting, is that I have a 5" Megalodon tooth, but unfortunately no raptor parts.1 point
