  1. Spoiler for TLou select to view I think Joel saving Ellie was heroic, and I'm with him on that all the way. What I take issue with is what happens thereafter. Lying and covering it up. That was not about saving the innocent, that was about saving his own relationship with Ellie, which was the height of selfishness and that's where I've lost all respect and sympathy for him.
  2. Captain Kirrahe's speech - Mass Effect Talking with Sovereign for the first time - Mass Effect
  3. Trans Am Racing 68-72 C&C Generals 2 Half Life 3 Squadron 42 Star Wars 1313 Starcraft Ghost
  4. I need to be able to identify with the player character's actions, goals, and motives. It doesn't matter if it's a classical hero, or an anti hero as long as their actions don't go against my own sense of right. This is the reason I despised Geralt in the Witcher series, because his attitude (mostly towards women) was just plain unacceptable to me. As for Joel I think at first he was a cynic, who later turned into a coward, but I could still like the game because his individual actions were morally justifiable even if he was doing things for the wrong reasons.
  5. @The Blackangel @Shagger Buzzkills, you must be fun at parties.
  6. They'll continue to update it, but if you expect it to be significantly better that's months away. If you are one a last gen console I'd not have bought it at this point. On PC you can play. I've heard horror stories but not encountered anything truly game breaking myself.
  7. I played as female, sometimes it felt that male would've been a better choice. But the romance options seem to have no preference in the game. Yes you can change at any time, and there is even an option where the game chooses for you depending on the chapter. But I think switching mid game breaks immersion. I don't like the animus bit in these games to begin with.
  8. Risk does make games a more profound experience. The only game where I felt actual risk was Quantic Dream games. Because in that if you fail at something or make a bad call, you don't get a game over screen. You get consequences. Usually someone gets hurt or even dies . It's not everyone's cup of tea, and some people didn't even realize when playing these games how many actual forks have they passed in the story. In their latest game Detroit Become Human they needed to include a crutch showcasing every little nuance that represents a branch in the story knowing how most players missed that in the previous game, thinking their way of completing the game was the only way.
  9. I don't think that the reviewer must play the entire game to be able to judge it. What is the point? If you hate the game for 10 hours, it's unlikely that your review would change if you waste another 5 hours on a game you don't like. Or vica versa, if you are convinced that it's great then your view won't do a complete 180 on it probably. Do you need to finish every sidequest every activity, and find every collectible too? This is an arbitrary metric that means nothing. Au contraire, if the reviewer forces themselves to try out parts of the game they are not interested in, all they can come up with is a false image anyway. There is no person who likes every aspect of every game. So why force reviewers to test every aspect of every game? A review's purpose s to give an overview of the game and an opinion based on the reviewer's experience. How would it benefit the review if you force the reviewer to play the game after they lost interest or made up their minds on the game? Reviews are a subjective genre, there is no such thing as an objective game review. Of course playing the game should be a requirement, but maxing out every mechanic in it isn't. As someone who also reviews games, I try to finish the main quest of the games before reviewing them, to be able to give an overview of the story. But in no way do I exhaust everything the game offers. But there were a few exceptions where I hated some games so much that I didn't even bother to finish the story. I'd not have changed my view if I forced myself to play another 10 hours with a game I absolutely detested.
  10. It's very rough since the model was created through 3D reconstruction aka. photogrammetry using screenshots from the model viewer. If I could get my hands on the actual models from the game it would be much better.
  11. Alpha Protocol, Spliner Cell Double Agent, Driver3, Splinter Cell Blacklist, of course Cyberpunk2077, Skyrim, Fallout4 I also liked New Vegas, but I don't remember it as that buggy.
  12. Chrome for some people gives a phising warning, which is completelely unwarranted. Probably someone who dislikes me reported the site as a phising site. I've already submitted a false positive report to google but to no avail it seems.
  13. Oh it's so easy to judge people from the comfort of your home 65 years later. They had a choice all right, go with the system or commit suicide. I probably wouldn't have been able to go through with mass murder, but I'm not going to judge people for going with self preservation. And yes some probably wanted to, even enjoyed genocide, but you are literally condemning an entire people. How is that better than condemning the entirety of the jewish people? Talk about repeating history. The past should be remembered exactly, and we should wow not to repeat it. Instead of trying to distort it as "Oh they were all stupid and evil", which brings the risk of repeating it.
  14. Who said anything about depicting concentration camps? Where did you get that idea? And how would that show Nazis as more intelligent. BTW if you were paying attention to wolfenstein the game says the nazis stole all technology from super intelligent jews, (who were hoarding it for some reason, which imo is pretty evil to do, not letting humanity benefit from technology but hiding it away) No we can't agree to disagree, because this is too important. Do you think that all german people were pure evil? And in turn trump voters are also pure evil? Intelligent people can believe in stupid crap as well, as long as they are indoctrinated with it enough. Anti fasiscts are using nazi tactics, which is quite ironic. They literally become what they say they are against.
  15. They just released a fix for the save size limit, so that's no longer an issue. As I've mentioned in my review this should've been a PC only release initially.
  16. If there is anything to learn from Naziism that Wolfenstein forgets, is how dangerous mobthink and demonizing a group of people is. (in that case the jewry). I don't think for a minute that all germans were pure evil during WWII, they were just given an enemy to project all their woes onto. And the so called anti fasists now are doing the same thing, demonizing trump voters thinking they are all vile and evil. They are repeating the past, not learning from it, exactly because they are trying to forget that WWII nazis weren't stupid.
  17. What's an arcade? No, seriously there were never any arcades here. I imagine they are places were people went to play videogames before home systems become common?
  18. I think Wolfenstein is a terrible example, it does a disservice to the cause it wants to preach. Yes I think especially the new colossus is very preachy. The games doesn't take the nazi threat seriously, they are presented as extremely stupid almost infantile. This is a clear example of forgetting the past. The nazis weren't stupid, especially in the game since they won the war there.
  19. I've compiled my version of the videogame awards, where I name a winner in several categories, not all of which are very prestigious. Link here
  20. I don't care about their personality. I just think they are ugly. No offence but to me they look like rats on steroids. Scary.
  21. Yes, present day real world politics is hard to include without it seeming like activism. So it's best avoided. Fictional and past politics is fine however.
  22. They also promised modding support for CP2077 we'll se whether that turns out to be a false promise as well. Although I don't see modding helping the game much. It's not like Skyrim or Fallout that is more focused on exploration and roaming free. CP2077 is focused on its story and nothing else. And the story is quite restrictive in my opinion.
  23. I was planning on using it for modeling but haven't been doing much of that recently.
  24. It's as if people find a bone to chew on from time to time. I don't know what triggers them, anticipation perhaps. It's not that these games are significantly worse than others, it's that people have unrealistic expectations. Mass Effect Andromeda got the same treatment, and I think it was a fine game. Dragon Age inqusition was similarly broken at release yet nobody called it out, it generally was well recieved. Or Fallout New Vegas was a broken mess as well, yet it is still adored and referenced as one of the greatest RPGs
  25. It never was fun to me. I've tried it once or twice and I think it is horrible. But I find multiplayer gaming with strangers pointless to begin with.
