  1. I got one or two games used for the PS3 and PS2, but everything I bought in the last five years was new. I don't have any used games currently as I've sold my game collection with the consoles.
  2. Test Drive Unlimited is the closest thing to that. It has Oahu in 1:1 scale. Of course the buildings and landmarks aren't all included. But you won't get a driving sim any time soon that covers the entire earth. Flight sim is easy. You get aerial photographs it's done, as planes fly thousands of feet in the air. There is not much fine detail needed to make it immersive. Cars drive on the ground, everything needs to be detailed otherwise it would be worthless.
  3. 100k? I'd take the money and run, there is no way to make decent game for that. At least not a complex game.
  4. I prefer classics, when "modern" pop artists try their hand at chirstmas songs it usually is disastrous. But I'm not into the whole birth of Jesus thing, to me christmas is just about good eats, and appreciating loved ones. Not necessarily in that order.
  5. Unfortunately I have a lot of this Prey (the 2017 reboot) This game was praised to high heavens, but it was just a system shock / Bioshock clone, that felt very boring to me Rage 2 (2019) I loved Mad Max, and this game has the same concept, the only difference being the perspective, and it was even developed by the same developer. Yet I had to toss it away after half an hour it was so bad, soulless, frustrating, monotonous. Far Cry New Dawn (2019) I liked Far Cry 5 well enough on a superficial gameplay level, I expected this to be more of the same. I was so wrong. They ruined it with mechanics from the Divisoin, tiered weapons and enemies, and a ton of grind for resources to upgrade a settlement it was all a circle jerk of pointlessness. Ace Combat 7 Skies unknown (2019) I wanted a good arcade flying game for ages, so when this came out I jumped on it immediately. Only to realize that it is not compatible with standard flight sticks. A flying game that can only be played with a few select and expensive controllers. What a joke. I wasn't going to buy a new joystick just for one game. So I tossed it. Mafia 3 (2016) I didn't realize what a terrible untalented developer Hangar 13 is. A boring, repetitive, and uninspired game. Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 (2017) The single worst game I ever bought period. At least it made for a funny article on my blog. There are a bunch of other games that I bought and somehow never got around to playing much, I didn't outright hate them, just didn't find them interesting or special enough to spend more time with, but in these cases I don't blame the games it's probably 50% me, 50% the games fault that I didn't get my money's worth from them.
  6. When the player character makes decisions on their own that I didn't like I do get frustrated. For example Max Payne3 was ruined by the bad decisions and self loathing nature of the main character for me. But I think all Rockstar games are filled to the brim with characters making bad decisions. And that means I cannot identify with them. Each of the GTA games I played I hated the player character, except maybe for Ballad of Gay Tony. It takes much away from the experience when you are indefferent or outright root against the player character. I don't have a problem with characters making bad calls for the right reasons. I have problems when they make bad calls for bad reasons. I can even let slide good calls for wrong reasons.
  7. I don't think there is any game on the menu right now, that people have recommended to me that I haven'T tried yet. I heard murmurs about Ghost of Tsutsima and Death Stranding, but I'm not convinced about either. So far i have a mostly negative track record with recommendations.
  8. Funny enough that was the exact game we played with my co-workers. One day we stayed late and just played through the night. It was 2008 or 2009 I think. My current co-workers are not big gamers unfortunately. But then again, there aren'T many new games that would be fun to play with friends, most don't even have lan multiplayer.
  9. When I burn out on some game I simply stop playing it. I used to play xcom2 almost daily for 3 years, then just stopped. I didn't think about it it just happened, I might get into it again, I might not, It doesn't really matter. I thought I was done with games around 2005 then in 2010 I played more games than ever before.
  10. I immediately stop playing and pause the game when someone is watching, I'm living out my fantasies in games, and I don't want anyone to see them.
  11. Cheating in a competition is not a mistake It's a deliberate act. WHoever is capable of it should not be let near a competition ever again. I don't believe in people changing.
  12. Welcome. Only two types of people on official game forums. Those who have a beef with the game and want to complain, and those who religiously love it and don't tolerate any kind of criticism. So it's always a volatile mix.
  13. My first system was a PS2 Slim that I bought from my first paycheck. And I owned exactly two games on it: Gran Turismo 3 and Gran Turismo 4. Never got around to buying any other games. I actually owned two PS2 Slims, as I sold the first one after finishing Gran Turismo, then bought another about a year later to play it again, the only other game I tried on it was liberty city stories, but I never got the hang of playing an action game with a controller. I used a wheel for gran turismo.

    Favorite party music

There is music that you love to listen to when you are at home, or at work, or in the car, but what are your favorite songs to party to ?
  16. Rammstein actually took their inspiration from Laibach. Some say Laibach is Rammstein for the grown ups.
  17. I've been using cdkeys for years maybe a decade. Never had a problem with them. They buy retail copies of games in bulk and resell the keys online. They are cheaper than b&m exactly because they have no b&m facilities to upkeep. There is nothing illegal about it. You are mistaking it for kingui, g2a and similar marketplaces where they actually sell keys obtained by way of credit card fraud / credential theft / phising. I also used to use gmg, but they went off the deepend with their prices. They are now more expensive than physical copies I can buy locally, so in that case I'd rather get that.
  18. When I first saw Dune II at one of my friends, I thought: "What a boring and pointless game" For the longest time I thought all RPGs are dumb, because it's all about assigning skill points and attributes in a menu, and games should be all action, not fiddling in menus. this culiminated when I first played Mass Effect, as I outright refused to deal with skills and inventory, so I actually finished the game with level1 gear from the first map of the game. I can tell you one thing: It was extremely hard even on the easiest setting. Harder than playing the game on insanity difficulty normally. I think the first RPG that I embraced and played as such was Fallout 3 and New Vegas.
  19. There are too many to count. In no particular order: Ladyhawke - Magic Katie Melua - Nine Million Bycicles Aqua - Turn Back Time Chaos Chaos - Do you feel it? Trailer Trash Tracys - Candy Girl Propaganda - Duel Metric - Governess Anna Ternheim - Black Sunday Afternoon Nightwish - While your lips are still red Mamamà Trio - Vanità di Vanità Omega - Gyöngyhajú lány Enough for one night?
  20. BeamNG Drive, it's not even finished yet I've already spent about 500 hours in it. I was always fascinated with car simulators ever since I first saw a racing game on a computer when I was maybe 6 years old. But my fascination was never with the racing itself, it was with the accurate modelling of car physics and damage. I've always had a go to game that was the pinnacle in car physics, and I'd just drive around in them aimlessly, joyriding if you may. And BeamNG is at that pinnacle currently. You couldn't imagine what were the games that were my goto games for this for shorter or longer periods. The first game I can remember that started it all was Stunt Car Racer (1989) on Commodore 64, it was the first game that actually tried to simulate the suspension of a car. So it immediately grabbed my attention.
  21. Alien Isolation, the whole game is scary as hell, even when you are on calmer levels. System Shock 2. Everything about this game is foreboding, even the AI of the ship, especially after it gets corrupted and starts spreading the word of the many.
  22. Test Drive Unlimited's opening sets the tone of the game very well. It's not just a racing game, it's an immersive lifestyle simulator. When you play it you leave the real world behind and become someone else, and choosing who you become is part of the intro. Mass Effect's opening might not be the most original, but I always said originality is overrated. This opening is effective and in no small part due to the musical score. Even the text exposition is lifted to another level by the music. And then the hopeful tunes set the stage for something grand while you see Shepard purposefully making her/his way to the bridge. It's goosebumps every time.
