  1. I find your comment strange, as TLOU2 ended exactly like a setup for another sequel. They only said they are not planning any DLCs for TLOU2, not that they wouldn't make a 3rd game. I personally wouldn't want to play as Ellie again. But as Abby any day. Or a new character. I'd love a game where you can choose from multiple characters, and it plays slightly differently depending on your choice. For example one of them is good at sneaking, the other is good at firearms, the third is a brawler, etc. I'd also be down for an RPG in the universe with a completely customizable character, but that's just not ND's style.
  2. We have to separate two categories. Political topics in videogames and political activism in videogames. The first one is OK, the second is not. As soon as it gets out of context and not the ingame character is speaking but the designer / writer through that character it becomes an issue. I don't care what they have so say, don't use the game as a platform for your personal politics, if you are a game designer. Unless the game is literally about your personal political views.
  3. Almost every one of my cats have learned how to open the mosquito net on the door, to get inside the kitchen, the clever ones used their paw to open it, some of them climbed on it and let gravity work for them.
  4. I doubt you can make money with a 3D printer. It's for prototyping stuff and personal one off projects, not for mass production. Not much, printed a few other figures but I'm just too lazy to finish anything.
  5. I'm sorry I don't sign up for nostalgia, games that try to mimic games we played in the 90s are the worst of both worlds.
  6. Loved it in Fallout New Vegas, don't remember any other game doing it right. The sleep to levelup / eat to gain 2 points of HP implementation is worthless imho.
  7. I'm not saying it doesn't have glitches or bugs, but we aren't talking about buggiest game of the year, but worst. There is a huge difference. For all it's glitches CP2077 is the second best game of the year for me.
  8. That's utter nonsense, don't believe everything the mob says.
  9. I actually have a 3D printer, that is what I used for my Abby figure. But extruder printers are a hit and miss for the most part, it is very sensitive to the actual model you are printing, as they can't print in mid air. So there is a lot of optimization and tweaking involved. It's good fun if you are patient and don't mind having a few bad prints. But don't expect it to work like a inkjet printer where you press print and voila. Even if everything is perfect printing a 20cm tall human figure can take about 10-15 hours. Then a lot of manual labor cleaning it up, and painting it. Then there are resin printers that are much more versatile and can print almost anything, but in return they are more expensive use more power, and the resin is slightly toxic until it is cured. Printers of other exotic materials like ceramics and metals I think are currently only viable for commercial enterprises as they are prohibitively expensive still.
  10. What I want doesn't exist. There are a bunch of Ellie figurines out there from last of us 2, but I wanted an Abby figure. I've made my own, but I'd like to have a better quality one still.
  11. Here is my spoiler free review. http://madblog.shacknet.us/cyberpunk-2077/
  12. The closest match to it is probably DeusEx Invisible War. and DeusEx Mankind Divided. System Shock II is also a First person cyberpunk in genre, but the story is completely different. Alien Isolation is also a bit similar in gameplay, but the story is even more different. Alpha Protocol is close in gameplay too, but the furthest from it in story as it is contemporary, not cyberpunk. Outer Worlds a definite maybe.
  13. What I was getting at is that this is not unique to game development, every industry has the same issues. Fofusing on game developers alone is like trying to cut out a tree by trimming a twig. Same goes for so called "crunch" which seems to be a hot topic now. I've witnessed crunch and even participated in it in other industries unrelated to videogames, so IDK why is it singled out as if it's the only industry where it happens.
  14. I don't think anyone should be paid millions of dollars. Not CEOs, not game developers, not movie stars, nobody, while there are people literally starving to death. Or freezing to death without a roof. You think game developers get paid too little compared to CEOs of these companies? How about clothing brands? Where the people in vietnam or china or wherever they happen to be get paid maybe $2 a day? Or Apple selling their overpriced garbage engineered to fail, and not be repairable, that they make for pennies on the dollar in foxconn's sweatshops? Even thinking about it makes my blood boil. And I'm powerless to do anything about it, because when anybody proposes change, they are instantly shut down. And not by the rich, no sir, other people who were indoctrinated to believe in the system. Who will label anyone even midldy criticizing it as a communist or worse.
  15. Yes, it's a very good looking game. I don't think the map is larger. The land mass to cover might be more than odyssey because of less open waters. But I was less inclined to explore freely here than in odyssey. The main story is definitely not an improvement, it's not very interesting and the conclusion is atrocious imho. The side stories are good though, more consistent quality than in Odyssey.
  16. Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout3, Fallout4, basically every bethesda rpg. They are not even worth playing just for the main quest. Mad max is like this too. I kust enjoyed playing it didn't really care for the main quest. Also GTA games, Driver series. And Ghost Recon.
  17. That's actually not a half bad use of blanks. I have a lot of them left over as well.
  18. Soldier of Fortune Strike series (Desert / Jungle / Urban...) Command & Conquer Dune (RTS) Heretic / Hexen Lemmings Unreal Driver Mercenaries Splinter Cell
  19. There is nothing juicy about it. We played GTA, Doom, Hexen, Heretic, Sin, Duke3D, Carmageddon, Mortal Kombat and so on, and nobody I know turned violent. In fact the most cruel and violent kids in school were always the ones with the most devout and conservative parents who kept their kids under the strictest rules not allowing them any access to movies / videogames / limiting their play time etc. I think shielding kids from gore is a mistake. For example the games where you still kill others, but they remove blood and gore. And that makes them kid friendly according to who? That's the worst lesson you can give to kids because it tells them killing has no consequences.
  20. It does get better later. My bleak view of it initially has been turned around. Here's my review.
  21. Yes and I just ordered 3 more recently. I don't like streaming, the quality never quite seems the same as a properly mastered audio CD. And also there is something occasional about taking one of your favorite records out of its case and inserting it into a proper hifi player. Seeing the booklet / cover art also adds to the occasion. Plus I love how my pair of speakers sounds with my home theater amplifier. I got lucky with that combo, as it produces sound well above the quality it's original price would suggest.
  22. I never owned so many physical games that storing them could be an issue. Even less of them had boxes. Games didn't have boxes since the late 90s. Everything since is in a dvd case, that doesn't take that much space. I have a single cabinet that stores all my physical games and it even has room for my audio cd collection.
  23. Undebatably? Talk about being cocky. It is the worst part in the series, and it's biggest failure is what you say exactly. That it wasn't meant to be a reboot yet for all intents and purposes it is one. It was supposed to be a prequel, yet the world feels much more modern than in DeusEx, and the state of the world resembles nothing of the original. It's an utter failure as a "sequel" as a reboot it can at least be judged, but it still fails at that, albeit not so miserably. I have the entire laundry list here. And while we are at it, the sequel prequel, wipes the floor with human revolution, it is a much better designed game, despite of being cut short.
  24. Mass Effect - Originally I didn't like the game at all. It only started to grow on me when I got out of the citadel and started exploring planets. Dune II - I didn't know what to make of the RTS genre. I dismissed the game as looking boring when I First saw it at a friend's. Then got a copy from someone and started playing it. X-Wing
  25. Favorite reboots: Tomb Raider XCOM Least favorite reboots: DeusEx - not that human revolution was a bad game, but deusex did not need a reboot, it needed a sequel. Gran Turismo Sport - An insult to Gran Turismo fans everywhere, added upon the injury of not even releasing a proper gran turismo for PS4.
