Aye, my dad and I used to play the OG Super Mario game back in the day a lot, too. He doesn't game so much anymore though I think he plays the occasional mobile game like Monument Valley on his phone.

Great choices! The Resi games have always done atmospheric sound well. You’re right, RE2 remake and RE7 in particular are both superb.

Yeesh, 3 weeks before you ate solid food again. That must’ve been real tough. I’m hoping my recovery doesn’t take that long (my hankering for a burger is growing exponentially by the day!)

I think Silent Hill does a brilliant job with its atmospheric, ambient audio. Akira Yamaoka’s sound design in those games are legendary. Still hoping he returns to the horror genre agai (the last horror/action game he scored was Shadows Of The Damned I believe).

Family-wise, I don't have many people who game with me except for my dad back in the day on the SNES. These days I mostly just game on my own or sometimes with my best friend once every few weeks.

I usually surf the web with an iPad or MacBook. I sometimes use my gf's laptop occasionally.

PCs are definitely better for gaming. Personally, I own a MacBook purely for word processing/work.

I don't think it's out quite yet but it does come out soon apparently. My gut says it's going to be disappointing (like the second one) but hopefully it's decent. I liked the first one back in the day.

I feel kind of bad for the Forsworn IIRC. Isn't there a quest where you can join them? I think I joined them but other tribes still ended up attacking me.

Weirdly, in the UK Pac-Man was pretty rare to find in arcade cabinet form. I rememeber playing it a few times in the arcade but my fondest memories personally was when I owned a copy of it on Amstrad. Good choice, though!

I have 8gb of ram in my macbook air which is fine for me mainly because I mostly write and don’t do much video editing. If I was in your shoes, I’d definitely consider purchasing an extra 8gb ram to help you edit stuff. Ram is generally pretty cheap these days and easy to install IIRC.

My pupils used to play that Run game when I used to teach in High School. Initially I’d get cross because they weren’t doing their work. But then I’d have a cheeky go and show them how it was done, lol!

Not seen the Days Gone walkthrough but seen the trailers and it looks really intriguing. It’s one of my most anticipated games of this year. Sony Bend are a very talented developer (they made Uncharted Golden Abyss for Vita).

I think it would be mostly on the technical side of things. Smoother framerates, less crashes, some more interesting quests with a couple of NPCs who aren’t robotswould be nice and plenty more bugfixes etc. Oh, and quicker load times would be a nice addition, too.

Just try and relax as best you can. Games are sometimes designed to defeat you at least once - whilst teaching you at the same time how to overcome it. That’s the beginnings of good game design. Try not to worry too much about it and remember to breathe and stay calm. You can do it!
