  1. One game that springs to mind for me is the OG Silent Hill. The iconic fog was there to hide the fact that the PS1 could only render 3D environments at a very short draw distance. Funny because it actually made the game more atmospheric.

    Reading

I try and read as much as I can because I adore reading. Michael Crichton (Jurassic Park/Sphere), Kurt Vonnegut (Slaughterhouse 5), Stephen King (The Shining, The Mist) and Alex Garland (The Beach) are some of my favourite modern authors and novels. Some older stuff like Jane Eyre, Macbeth and The Catcher In The Rye are classics, too. Gaming-wise, I do like reading IGN, VGR, WGTC, N4G and Bloody Disgusting. Reading is awesome and it really helps your writing as well.
  3. I loved I Am Setsuna. Great JRPG with an incredible soundtrack. Here are a few of my personal recommendations: 1.) Octopath Traveler 2.) Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle 3.) The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 4.) Lost Sphear 5.) Super Mario Party 6.) Into The Breach 7.) Bad North 8.) Dark Souls 9.) Resident Evil Revelations 10.) Hollow Knight Hope that helps!
  4. I was around 4-5 years old and the first gaming device I owned was an Amstrad CPC 464 home computer.
  5. Personally, I find first-person style games are the most immersive gaming experiences mainly because that viewpoint feels like it puts me more into the protagonist's shoes. Not knocking third-person and other perspective style games, of course. Just find first-person games a wee bit more immersive.
  6. Personally, I think I spend around £250-£350 a year on video games. If a new piece of hardware comes out that I need, though, that amount goes up significantly.
  7. Depends on what kind of genres you're into tbh. Here are a few games I wholeheartedly recommend off the top of my head: 1.) The Last Of Us 2.) Silent Hill 2 3.) Super Mario World 4.) Dark Souls 5.) Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion 6.) Dead Space 7.) Heavy Rain 8.) Bioshock 9.) Resident Evil 4 10.) Limbo Happy gaming! 🙂
  8. I generally play at night but have a little bit of light so that it's not too dark in the room I'm playing games in. You probably are already aware of this, but watching TV/playing games in the dark is terrible for your long-term eyesight. Like you said as well, I tend to get headaches if I'm playing in a pitch black room. So, yeah, I tend to play video games in a room with a little bit of light.
  9. So much content for such a wee price! https://www.instant-gaming.com/en/2671-buy-battlefield-1-revolution-xbox-one/
  10. I was the same as you. My first reaction was pretty negative. After getting to understand the strategic depth, however, I learned to really appreciate turn-based combat. Now I’m a proponent of it in many games.
  11. Best price I’ve seen yet. https://www.simplygames.com/search?keywords=dark sider
  12. REVII, Thumper and Until Dawn Rush of Blood are the most impressive vr games I’ve played on PSVR.
  13. I adore video games. Helps me unwind after a tough day and I love doing stuff I don’t get to do in my everyday life. I also love the community/social aspect, meeting new people and playing games with friends.

  16. Oh and I forgot to mention Alien Vs Predator (2010). Easily plonked down 500 hours in that bad boy's MP and SP.
  17. Probably either Skyrim, Call Of Duty: Black Ops or Pixel Junk Monsters. I've clocked up over a thousand hours in each three.
  18. This is a fun RPG and these are good prices. https://secure.shopto.net/video-games/ps4/PS4SO05-south-park-the-stick-of-truth-hd

  20. I own Talisman but haven’t fully got into it yet. I do adore a tabletop PS4 game called Armello. So addicting and I love rolling the dice with the touch pad of the DS4. Very well designed and a lot of fun. You should check it out!
  21. The elevator pitch sounds intriguing. Will check out some gameplay and see if it’s my kind of game.
  22. I sometimes feed my guinea pigs some cucumber during long load times. Pretty sure they look forward to me gaming as a result, lol.
  23. Will keep my eyes peeled for a good deal for ya 😉
