In reality, compared to general inflation and compared to the cost of making a modern commercial game, video games are the cheapest they’ve ever been. That said, you can still buy a “turkey” or a “bad game” for full price and feel like you got swindled. But games are much more complicated to make and are generally designed to be time-sinks these days. I think overall gaming offers tremendous bang for your buck entertainment-wise.
I really like VATS and think it’s a nice blend of real-time/turn-based mechanics. Definitely took me a bit to get used to it, but I really enjoy it now and find it to be a unique aspect of the combat in the Fallout universe.
In a recent interview, Jim Cameron has stated that he’s “working on” coming back to the Alien franchise. Obviously, this is by no means confirmation but how does everyone feel about the possibility of this news?
Personally, I’d like to see Ridley Scott finish his prequel trilogy *and* see Neill Blomkamp/James Cameron’s Alien 5. Not sure that’ll happen of course, but one can dream, right?
Awesome horror game for a cheap price. https://www.go2games.com/the-evil-within-ii-xbox-one?utm_source=RakutenMarketing&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=3001042:digidip&utm_content=10&utm_term=UKNetwork&ranMID=42957&ranEAID=hL3Qp0zRBOc&ranSiteID=hL3Qp0zRBOc-RHdFPcqNpjjTIR2.GubeMQ
I mostly use VGR, IGN, We Got This Covered, Twinfinite, Eurogamer, Kotaku, Youtube, FB, N4G and Twitter to get my gaming news these days. Used to love Destructoid back in the day, too.
Fair enough, just posting it for peeps who maybe interested. Even with all its issues, I'm still enjoying it a lot on PS4. Yeah, maybe I'm broken, too. lol
This is a comprehensive review roundup: https://www.avpgalaxy.net/2019/01/28/alien-blackout-reviews-round-up/
To be fair, a 72 on Metacritic is decent overall.
I picked it up and I’m really liking it - not amazing - but decent for 5 bones. The voice actor is the same actress who plays Amanda Ripley in Isolation and it ties in nicely with that game narratively. The atmosphere/audio is authentic but the AI of the survivors is a bit basic/rudimentary.
7/10 from me, personally, from what I’ve played. Each their own, of course.
Aye, it’s a really great game to discuss. It’s a testament to the incredibly deep story that we can have so many different takes/interpretations on it.
