Agreed. I myself usually just play a game to finish it and probably see if there is any replayability value. I may have gotten trophies/achievements across several games but I probably wouldn't remember/notice. I do have a friend that will persevere with a game just for the achievements and that's why I started to chuckle because I remembered how he outright hated some games but wouldn't stop playing them.

I've never actually been one to try for trophies or achievements, but your story made me laugh =D

"Further still, much of the artwork interconnects in consistently surprising ways, a little like an interactive MC Escher lithograph."
That may hit the nail on the head for why this game concept fascinates me. I do get an Escher vibe in terms of cleverness here. Nice review!

I like the world and the graphics design. Though it has slow play but in terms of fight and the storyline it looks decent. Something that you can play for once. Check the short gameplay and see if it's your taste.

I have two games in mind which look innovative.
    1. Spirits
    2. Alto's adventure
Both of those games seems to be good at their own way of handling the smoothness with which player move and end up finishing place. The graphics, music and the overall controls are also easy on those both games. I find them innovating enough for my taste in such games.

I haven’t played this, but it’s a puzzle game called Gorogoa. Check out this gif:

The gameplay mechanics look utterly fascinating to me, and I usually don't like puzzles. But between the innovative game play and the beautiful art, it really intrigues me.

Kind of equivalent to the Songbird in Infinite. I spent most of that game expecting to have to somehow fight that thing, so I was surprised by how it turned out. I liked that neither the bird nor the cage represented freedom so much as the bird and the cage combined. I'm pretty sure that also connects to the idea that true freedom of will may entail a combination of choices and occasionally their removal (as Booker and Elizabeth realized Booker had too much choice in his past, and that decision point at the baptism needed to be "caged" to set the world free of Comstock).

Angelo in FF8. He could learn so many attacks and tricks, and was always there when Rinoa needed him.

@DylanC Dogmeat!!! I actually found he stayed alive better than some of my other companions, like Charon.
I also love Meeko and Vigilance in Skyrim, and …. Er, Barbas, in a way. He’s such a pain, but I can’t bring myself to get rid of him.

A good ol' classic that I loved playing in my teen years was the lego games! They were so much fun!

Thank you, yeah I've seen some prices online and its around the 200-300 dollars brand new it makes me really sad since I really wanted a Vita but for that price I might as well get a Switch but it only has a couple of  FPS.

hahahhaha yeah this whole game is so wrong but none can blame the creators for the lack of imagination.

This enemy is wrong on so many levels! Lol. But imagination-wise, this one’s off the freaking charts!

Tonberrys in FF8. Weird little bastards that just want to stab you with a kitchen knife or wave a lantern in your face.

On that note, I think even the castle wolfestein's old warrior vilian at the end is scary too. I have seen some really creepy similar heroes in other games. It'd be interesting to see some of similar such resurrected vilains.

I’m in agreement that the Big Daddies are awesome! At the same time, I have a hard time thinking of them as “enemies,” so much as just something I’m “forced to kill.” If anything, I tend to see them as unfortunate victims. The entire time I’m shooting, I’m apologizing all over myself. And then when the Little Sisters start blubbering over “Mr. Bubbles …” I am in such a rush to click “Rescue,” lol.

I'd say the bosses in Serious Sam seems to be pretty strong on imagination. They seem to have various powers and can be brutal if you ignore them. So I'd say those enemies are definitely bad enough to deal with.

Contra and the Sonic 1 was also easy. I think I have pretty much finished the game in a week. And the gameplay was pretty one dimensional. But it's the thrill that got me to complete the game.

Zelda games. The Legend Of Zelda & Zelda 2 (NES), one of the ones on SNES (Link To The Past), Links Awakening (Game Boy), Ocarina Of Time (N64). I used to be almost unbeatable at fighting games, but since I haven't played any in years a 2 year old could most likely whip my ass now.

In that case, Bioshock Infinite, lol. I mean, it literally rewards you with free health and salts when you die. Sometimes my strategy was just to get myself shot.
