Lamarr the strelok reacted to Heatman in Embracer Group completes acquisition of Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal, and Square Enix Montreal and more
It's not just Square Enix only that trying to move everything to NFTs and it's not a good sight for us gamers to see them go down that path. We are going to be the one's suffering it for a long period of time while they make their cool money off of us. Ubisoft is pushing for the same thing with NFTs too.

I didn't watch the main video and seldom watch that hack Dr. Phil. I'm not a perfect parent at all but if that was my kid His console would be taken away and he'd be pulling weeds in the yard for a few hours every day for a while . The important thing is it's worthless parenting. And the kid didn't just start that shit at the age of 12. He was allowed to do this type of shit from about the age of 2.I've seen this kind of worthless parenting and it's ALWAYS the parent's fault. Kids' job is to try getting away with everytrhing and it's the parents job to discipline their kids and not allow a kid to run their household.Your kids aren't your friends. They're your kids.Make them listen .

I think these studios are relieved they're not with Square Enix anymore. It seems SE is going full on with NFT and blockchain BS. I'd be very worried if I was a fan of Square Enix. Hopefully the new tomb raider won't have always online requirements for their new game.

There's a lot they can work on. I hope they do that and do a lot of the other ips that have long stayed dormant for years now. And of course I'm always ready for more tomb raider and hitman games.

I hope that's what they're like. I still worry about big companies like this and how they run things. But if they can do good on protection for workers and allow due time for development to happen.
As well, they said there was 50 other ips they got in the purchase, so if they start to produce content from some long gone series, I'm all for that. Just don't be an EA, Ubisoft, Activision, Blizzard, Rockstar just to name a few. Lol

True, and Embracer group seems to be serious about working on a lot of these old ips. Tomb Raider was mentioned in their press release. I they mentioned a few others. But I think that also gets them Hitman. I hope they continue to make that series or add to it.

Well it looks like this sale is complete, as Embracer Group now owns Crystal Dynamics, Eidos-Montreal, Square Enix-Montreal, and possibly more assets to come. You may have heard a while back that Embracer was attempting to purchase all of these studios. I don't know what Square Enix Montreal does, but I imagine it's not all of Square Enix correct? Eidos Montreal I believe made Hitman for example. It's said to include 50 other back catalog games, so we might be seeing some old titles from these studios making a comeback. Would be cool.
Here's their press release on this:

Lamarr the strelok reacted to Shagger in Sony, You Idiots! PS5 Price Increase Announced
After a video game console has been out for a number of years, price changes are not out of the ordinary, but it's usually the price going down, but now Sony has decided to increase the price of the PS5 in pretty much every region except the USA by equivalent of around $40-$50 US. More from PlayStation Blog.
Here's a breakdown of the new prices;
Credit to IGN, who first made made me aware of this via this video from Gamescom. They also break down the price increases in more detail, so it's worth a watch.
There's only one thing I wanna say, Sony;
I don't care about thier excuses revolving around the state of the world economy or inflation, this is same Sony that once sold the PS3 at a $300 loss per unit because they understood how important it was to get the console into peoples homes. The rules have not changed, so why would Sony make a decision that will decrease sales of the console (because it will)? It's not like they ever made much money of the hardware sales of the console itself anyway.
More importantly, how can Sony do this to people, especially with this console? A console that has been scarce for buyers to get a hold of and has been scalped to hell? It's almost as if of Sony are punishing thier fans for not being able to buy one yet, like thier fans have done something wrong and it's thier fault.
This move is rancid on Sony's part and I'm furious, and I know I won't be alone in this. What makes this more insulting for me is that I had a time slot booked for me by PlayStation to have a guarantee to be able to buy a PS5 yesterday. I didn't do it because money is not in abundance right now, but it feels like a slap in the face. It's like, "Oh, you're not buying on now? Well then fuck you! Now you'll have to pay more when you do want one!".
No Sony. Fuck you, and you alone. I hope thier is un uproar and you are forced to reverse this decision.

Lamarr the strelok reacted to Gonassis in This is pure bullshit
Reminds me of a documentary on obese children I watched... *sighs
every single time the child whined about letting him having more candy food, or sugary drinks, the parent would either give in immediately, or say no for a bit but then still give the kid junk food.
the kid was very very fat, and not even 10 years old yet...
that's waaaaay unhealthy. 🤷♂️🤦♂️ but parents just let them be. 😑

Any negative effects from video games can mostly be the parents fault. I absolutely don’t get how parents blame games when they fail to be a parent and monitor what their kids do online or what video games they play. We have rating systems for them but they ignore it anyway, and refuse to teach their kids right from wrong so the kid doesn’t learn fucked up things. As with most hobbies and entertainment, moderation is key. Yet parents never teach their kids this.

Lamarr the strelok reacted to Crazycrab in What's the absolute worst game you've ever played?
Nope, that's the entire arcade mode (campaign)!
This was obviously an experienced player who knew where to go so a first time player would probably be about 45 minutes to an hour. Also there's a secondary survival horde mode that puts you in a gauntlet against waves of enemies but that is still inexcusable.

I was thinking you guys and gals were maybe being unfair to older games because of their older tech. Then I saw the Veronica video and changed my mind. That game looks like it's a ps1 game.Duck hunt had better weapon handling. None of the guns even have a reticle! It was so bad I couldn't help but watch the whole 28 minute video. The actual game is longer than 30 minutes though right? Just hilariously awful.
My worst game I've played is from Atari called you are empty. I got it for PC when gamestop had pc games on disc.My PC exceeded the requirements but it would crash often during the first screen before the game even started. I was able to play it a bit and it was sorta cool but the game would just crash almost all the time.It was so bad I didn't even bother bringing it back to gamestop. I bought it for under 10 bux.I still have the disc and box for it and it's so bad I had to keep it. I think I've seen more doors in that 26 minute video of Veronica than I have in over 40 years of gaming. Just awful.

Lamarr the strelok reacted to Crazycrab in What's the absolute worst game you've ever played?
The worst would have to be Resident Evil Survivor 2 – Code: Veronica (PS2).
it's a fucking dreadful excuse for an arcade FPS. Clunky, same objective every level and every single asset was just copied over from Resident Evil Code Veronica X. The first Resident Evil Survivor was a piece of crap but even it had more effort put into it than this, with (shitty) voice acting and some exclusive assets. The abomination doesn't even have that going for it. This is a lazy and pathetic as you can conceive.

I lack having air condition in my room, that's one thing I want to add, since I feel hot at times due to harsh weather condition here in my locality. The ceiling fan makes hell of noise, I don't fancy it anymore 😂.

Lamarr the strelok got a reaction from DC in A good introductory question
Blackangel and DC: I can only speak for my self but I was planning on joining Resetera but they require a different email provider so that was out. Then I thought they must have just a shitload of stuff I may not really be interested in.So I did a Yahoo search for video game forums and VGR was one of them. I checked out a few others but chose VGR because I liked the conversations about games here.Iwas very picky about what forum I was going to join.I'm on the north side of fiddy and been playin teh vidya games over 40 years so I don't need any foolishness . I must go yell at some clouds now.(god im old)

Lamarr the strelok reacted to The Blackangel in Square Enix Sell Crystal Dynamics, Eidos, IPs, & More For $300 Million To Invest In NFT & Blockchain
For the love of....
What the hell were they thinking? They sold off games they were making bank on.... to focus on NFT's? What the hell does Square Enix expect to do with this? Selling nonexistent items for real money? I've heard some dumbass ideas in my 40 years on this planet, but if this one doesn't top them all, it's pretty damn close.

While exposing violence to the kids, even the fictional violence, might not be good blaming teen aggression to video games is just like blaming women's clothing for rape.

Lamarr the strelok reacted to The Blackangel in Atheism
No it's not. In the public school system, it doesn't exist. Teachers can and will teach about racism, but CRT is not a lesson. It is a class in higher education such as college, but is typically only taken by those going into fields that specifically deal within that area of humanity. Fields such as psychology. Some even take it as an elective. But the public school does not teach such a class. You say you live here, but the more you talk the more you make it seem like you have never even once set foot on American soil.
