  1. I usually only like food names for pets, human name for pets just sound weird to me. It's not cute, just imagine calling over this little cute kitten and his name is Bob or Oliver. (Oliver is a very popular kitten/cat name and it makes me cringe every time I find out someone named their cat that lol.) Right now I've got a kitten named Mochi, it fits him well too.
  2. One of my most favorite PS1 games is Digimon World 3! I remember my best friend got a copy of the game, shortly after he did I got one too and got another one of my friends hooked. (She was actually my childhood crush lol.) Anyways Digimon World first made it's debut on the PS1, but there were a few other titles in the series that were released on other consoles. The first four games are different types of RPGs, the first one is a rogue like where you have to make sure to feed your Digimon, just like the virtual pets the series was originally based on. The second game is a dungeon crawler with turned based battles, the third game is just your run of the mill turned base RPG, and the fourth one is a hack and slash. Did anyone else enjoy these games? I find myself going back and playing DW3 the most, I would like to finish the second game someday. (And try to get through the first one as well.)
  3. Oh man there's so many songs I can listen to over and over again and never get bored with them. It really depends on my mood, right now it's Seether's Driven Under. I actually just learned that they used to go by a different name, Saron Gas and there's an earlier version of the track. It isn't as good as the version on their Disclaimer album, but it's still a banger. Here's the Disclaimer version:
  4. I'm not sure if anyone was aware, but a fan was porting Portal over to the Nintendo 64. However, the project was taken down since it used proprietary libraries and Valve didn't want Nintendo to come knocking on their door and try suing them. Someone else is working on removing the proprietary libraries so the project could potentially continue if all the proprietary code is removed from the project. Usually I do get upset at Nintendo when ROM hacks are taken down especially if people aren't making a profit off the hacks, but this time it makes sense for Valve to be cautious.
  5. I don't think most of them will become collectibles, they're mass produced these days. Now older bootleg consoles like the Super Joy III are getting difficult to find, I wish I kept my Super Joy III. It was harder to sell bootlegs back in the day, but now since Temu, Wish, and Aliexpress exist there's always people selling these bootlegs on those platforms.
  6. Honestly sometimes I get the same excitement as I did when I was a kid, but it's rare that I do. If it's a game I really love or have been looking forward to for a while, then I get that same thrill. I think when I was younger it was more thrilling to get a new game since I was a kid and obviously didn't have any money to buy new games so it was cool to get a brand new game that your parents or relatives think you'd enjoy, and then you get to read the back of the case and read the manual to see what the game is all about. I do miss those days.
  7. What's your favorite video editor? I use DaVinci Resolve and it works great! It's a free software too, the only thing is you can't use too many effects otherwise you have to upgrade to their paid software. Though honestly I don't use too many effects, so the free version works fine for me. I do like that they have a one time fee and you don't have to pay a monthly subscription fee like you do if you use Adobe's products.
  8. Think back to the first time you ever went to a concert, who did you see and what year was it? The first concert I ever went to was Pointfest which is a local concert that has a few different bands, this was back in 2008. I got to see Seether and Puddle of Mud live, which was amazing! I was 18 years old and I went with my best friend at the time. Seether is one of my favorite bands of all time and they were great live. Hard to believe it's been almost 16 years ago!
  9. Nope I don't have a game room, I just do my gaming in my main living room. I have two tvs and my games are on a shelf right by the door that leads upstairs. (I live in my inlaw's basement.) When we lived at our previous place, my spouse and I did have a game room that was right across the hall of our bedroom.
  10. Oh man I always wanted a 3DO for some reason, when I was a kid I wanted to own ever single console ever but we all know that would be impossible unless you've got lots of money! I know the 3DO doesn't have many games and only a handful of them were good, with most of the good ones being released on other platforms like Gex and Doom. I always wanted a Sega CDX too, even though I own a Sega CD and it still works fine.
  11. Yep best to just replace the battery at this point. The Vita is already 12 years old now, rechargeable batteries usually don't last that long. Hopefully you didn't have to wait too long for a new battery, but I know it can take sometime depending on where you bought the replacement battery from. At least now you've got multiple cables if the other ones ever break!
  12. While looking up information about Palworld, I came across another monster collecting game that came out last year called Cassette Beasts. I'm thinking about picking this game up as well, since I love turned based RPGs and monster collecting games. Has anyone here play Cassette Beasts yet? It's only $20 so it's not too expensive. I'm enjoying Palworld of course, but I might get around to getting Cassette Beasts whenever I'm done playing Palworld in the future and I would like to know if it's good. Judging by the ratings lots of people enjoy it.
  13. Palworld is out now! I decided to go ahead and purchase the game on Steam to see what all the hype is about. It's a good game, if you're into survival games that is. I'm enjoying it but I usually don't play survival games often. I only have one pal so far, and I keep missing my pal spheres every time I try to catch another pal. >_> I'm playing on easy and only on single player. I might get around to playing multiplayer in the future, but for now I'm content with playing the game by myself. I'm only at level 4 and I haven't explored much of the island yet since I need to craft better tools and make sure I have enough food with me.
  14. I have a gaming channel, most of the videos I create are unboxing videos though. I have been recording more challenge videos lately, I have a few I need to finish editing and upload to my channel. I already posted a Pokemon Red Randomizer video on my channel, a lot of my older videos are just video game music reversed though. (A lot of my older uploads aren't really gaming related though.) I only have 316 subscribers currently, but I've only been really pushing myself to work on my channel more within the past year. I just do it as a hobby though so I don't mind the view counts, if I get picked up by the algorithm that's cool but if not then that's fine too!
  15. Man I remember face plates! They were so freaking cool back then, but I never got the chance to ever own any of them. It's a shame you don't really see customizations like this anymore on modern consoles. (Sure there's faceplates for the PS5, but most of them are only one solid color or translucent which is cool but those are third party ones...) I know exclusive consoles still exist, but it was much cooler to be able to easily just swap out the 360 faceplate.
  16. For me it would be both Legend of Legaia as well as Sonic 3 and Knuckles. Legend of Legaia was my first JRPG (other than Pokemon) and I have many fond memories of beating the game for the first time at the age of 12. To be able to experience all of that again for the first time would be amazing. I also remember when I first finished Sonic 3 and Knuckles with Knuckles since I didn't know how to make it past the barrel in Carnival Night Zone as Sonic or Tails. I remember that fight with Mecha Sonic and how he goes super with the master emerald. That was epic and I would love to relive that again for the first time too.
  17. As someone who grew up playing the first one as a kid I am super stoked for these remasters! I've been wanting remasters of these games for years and looks like I'm finally getting my wish. I do wish we were getting The Last Revelation and Chronicles too in this line up but I'll take the first three games. I'll be getting this for my PS5, it feels more natural for me to play it on a Playstation console since that's how I played the originals. Plus these remasters will also have the PC exclusive level packs for the first time on consoles! Unfinished Business, Gold, and The Lost Artifact were extra levels only found in the original PC releases of the games.
  18. I used to have a customized Xbox One controller I made on the official Microsoft website, but I guess I got rid of it when I sold my original Day One Xbox One. It was a green controller with a blue d-pad, since these are two of my favorite colors. As for putting stickers on consoles and controllers I don't like doing that, it's hard to get off later on down the line if you're wanting to sell the console or if you're just tired of seeing the sticker.
  19. I love the snow myself! It's a shame we haven't got much here where I live yet, it snowed a little bit last night but it isn't much. I hope we get a good snowfall soon, just as long as it stays away the weekend of the 27th since I'm going to see the Sonic Symphony in Kansas City that day! Any other time it would be great, especially during the week so I can get a snow day at work if it's too bad lol.
  20. I'm not a fan of the first two GTA titles myself, however it would be nice to see a remaster of these old games to show the younger generation that this is how the GTA series started all those years ago. Plus they could bring in newer fans, you never know. There's plenty of people who enjoyed those titles, I bet there's even a few rare fans who prefer them to the 3D sandbox style we got after GTA III came out. We keep getting remasters of old titles, this would be the perfect time for this to happen.
  21. It's pretty hard to think about what Microsoft is going to name the next Xbox console, but will they even actually come out with a new one next generation? They already have the weakest sales, their PC Game Pass is probably going to be the thing that kills their console market so they'll probably eventually stick to being a software developer like what happened with Atari and Sega. Many people already just use PC Game Pass to get access to the Xbox titles they want to play so they don't feel the need to buy a Xbox Series X. However if they actually do come out with a new console, it's no telling what they'll call it. We got the Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One (for all in one even though it was confusing, still not as bad as Nintendo going with the Wii U after the Wii), and now Series X/S. Their naming scheme isn't as straightforward as Sony lol.
  22. Now this sounds like an awesome idea! If I had a popular community I would love to do this myself, but the thing is none of my communities are popular enough and don't have enough participation to get something like this going. I've thought about trying to integrate tournaments in the past, but it wouldn't be as fun with just three people after all. I do have social anxiety though myself and I am a sore loser when it comes to games so honestly even if I did host a tournament I wouldn't participate lol. I would probably choke up in voice chat most likely.
  23. I'm split on this decision, on one hand these tools can be good to use when voice actors are sick and can't come to the studio to record specific lines for things. On the other hand, certain studios could simply just strictly stick to using AI for future projects and the voice actors wouldn't get paid for their roles if the AI ends up using their voice clips which would be absolutely terrible and not right IMO. AI can't easily replicate the same emotions in voices that humans can, so I can only see AI strictly projects being terrible in quality.
  24. I am not, I prefer to own physical copies of games for not only my collection but also for when you can't easily download games from stores anymore after they get delisted. That's the future we're looking at if things go all digital. Unfortunately Walmart will stop selling physical games soon, and Best Buy did away with physical movies. While delisting doesn't happen as often for movies, it still happens from time to time. Also there's nothing like popping in a new game into whatever console you own, it's such a cool feeling that you don't get with digital games.
  25. Bro Sonic was on the Sega Genesis, Mario was strictly Nintendo. Unless you ended up with a bootleg which in case there is a Super Mario bootleg on the Genesis. Anyways I would definitely go with Sonic, Mario, or even Pokemon for a new gamer. Something simple yet fun and enjoyable. From there if they continue to enjoy playing games you could introduce them to bigger titles. I tried getting my mother in law into modern games since she used to play the NES when it first came out when she was a teenager, but she was eager to play Red Dead Redemption 2 and couldn't really grasp using the PS4 controller since she was used to just the four buttons on the NES controller. Now she's got a PS4 she never uses anymore in one of our spare bedrooms for whenever her nephew comes over during the summertime.
