  1. I usually don't review the games I've played, but since I have been focusing a lot on my Youtube channel as well as community I might start writing reviews of games I've played for the first time. (I might get around to making reviews for my favorite games but I think I'd be too biased if I did that.) I usually just sit down, play a game and if it's one I really like I'll end up playing it to the end and maybe just voice my opinions on the game while playing it just not online.
  2. Honestly I would either wait to save up for a Series X or S, but you could also just stick to PC gaming since pretty much a good amount of games from Game Pass are on PC Game Pass already. Ultimately it's up to you, but I wouldn't bother getting a used Xbox One when the Series X and S dropped in price recently. (Well the Series X did at least, but the Series S is pretty cheap for modern consoles.)
  3. I find myself doing this more often these days. I've started a good number of games, made it halfway through the games and put them down never to return to them. The latest one was Final Fantasy VIII, I started playing it at the end of 2022 when I was off work for a few weeks due to a shutdown. (It was somewhat Covid related, we just weren't getting enough orders at the time.) I picked up the game and played all the way until I was about to rescue Rinoa but I stopped playing and haven't picked it up since. I'm not sure why I haven't, I've been wanting to play through the entire game. I think I was under leveled and didn't want to grind.
  4. I think it's a positive thing, it makes it much easier to play with friends who own different game consoles. Back in the day you'd have to tell your friends to get whatever console you played on in order to play with or against them, even if they didn't really want to go with that platform. Even older you had to get together and bring your consoles with you to have a lan party in order to have a competition, I'm sure it was fun but also very hot in a room with a bunch of tvs/monitors and consoles/pcs.
  5. Yep I've received two NES clone consoles. The first one was when I was 12, I seen it at a mall kiosk and it was one of those Super Joy III consoles. My grandma got it for me since I thought it was cool, and she gave it to me for Christmas. The other time I was 28, so it wasn't too long ago. I wanted one of those Coolbaby NES mini clone consoles and I got it for Christmas. I knew what I was getting, but I didn't mind it being a clone console and not being able to actually hack it. I thought it was funny, both consoles actually. I wish I still had my Super Joy III, it had a few roms on it where the letters would be mixed around and Golf was one of them. Instead of saying "Water Hazard" and "Bunker" the N and T were switched around and so it said "Waner Hazard" and "Butker." xD Dig Dug was another rom on the clone console that had letters mixed around, the letter R and S were mixed around so whenever you got a game over the text would read "Game Oves."
  6. Sky News is absolute trash, it honestly doesn't surprise me this was their reaction to the news of this kid beating Tetris. Anyways I think it's cool that there's someone who finally beat Tetris after all these years, kudos to him! Plus his father passed away last month too, so he dedicated this to him. It's unfortunate his father wasn't alive to see him reach this goal.
  7. It's funny, I feel like ever since Sega made a Sonic toaster a bunch of other companies came along and made toasters. I never got the Sonic one unfortunately, but I don't eat toast that often to be bothered to get one. I'm sure there's going to be people who get this and already own the Xbox Series X mini fridge. It's a bit overpriced and can only toast one slice of bread at a time so I'll pass on this.
  8. Does anyone here have an account on Retro Achievements? It's a cool website that allows you to earn achievements from your favorite retro games. All you have to do is sign up on their website, and use a emulator that works with their site. You just have to log into your account using the emulator, and you can start earning achievements. You can take a look at their website to see which emulators are compatible with their site and what games have achievements. I have been working on Gex 3 lately, but I ran into a glitch where I couldn't get all the fly coins in Gangster TV due to a glitch so I haven't played it in a while. I'm wanting to get all the achievements in the game but until I can stop this glitch from happening I can't get all the achievements.
  9. The most I ever spent on a game was $70. This was on a copy of Mega Man Legends 2, and it was the disc only too. I kind of regret getting it since I wish I got a complete copy of the game. However it doesn't seem like the price of this game has gone down in a decade, so perhaps it was a good investment. A complete copy goes for over $100! It's nothing like The Misadventures of Tron Bonne though...
  10. I would love to see a sequel to Bully but at this point I don't think it'll ever happen. I can't really see them making other games just to hold people over until the newest GTA or RDR. This is because they make so much money off GTA V alone and that's why it took them over a decade to make a new one. As long as they're making money off that, I don't really see them developing games other than GTA and RDR.
  11. I think it's hilarious that they used his mugshot in the trailer. Should he get a little bit of compensation? Nah, mugshots are uploaded into the public domain and are free to use until you request that it gets removed from the public domain. If he didn't want his photo out there for people to use, he should have requested to get it removed from the public domain.
  12. I'm going to have to tell one of my coworkers this news. He enjoys playing adult games, though honestly I don't think he really cares if anyone sees what games he plays lol. Though this is good for those who don't want to show others what adult games they play, so good on Steam! I suppose there may be other games you don't want your friends to see that you play, maybe some guilty pleasure ones? Anyways I don't need to private any of my games.
  13. The Genesis version of the Batman game is better than the NES version IMO. I also liked The Adventures of Batman and Robin on the Genesis as well, even though it's pretty difficult. I haven't played any of the newer games myself but I have watched my spouse play Arkham Asylum and it looks awesome so it's on my huge backlog of games that I want to play before I die lol.
  14. At this point I don't think any major game company is going to make a dedicated handheld system. The Switch fills the need for a handheld system since it's a tablet at it's core. You can take it with you and dock it and play on your tv if you wish. So I highly doubt Nintendo will ever come back with a standalone handheld system.
  15. I never really went to any of these parties myself, but I usually don't play many triple A titles. It's a shame that so many people opt to get digital games now so stores don't feel the need to have parties like this anymore though... I'm still a person who prefers to purchase physical games myself, especially of franchises I love. I would say maybe if Rockstar does something to compromise the digital release of GTA VI we might see a release party for that game, but again I bet more people are going to purchase the digital version of the game over the physical version.
  16. I feel like games based on shows really started dying off in the 2010's and you don't really see them that often anymore. Now days I feel like most games that are released alongside shows are mobile titles, and if anything we could get a new Simpsons game via mobile. Makes me wonder if they'll be thinking of finally ending the series soon and maybe that's why we haven't seen much in terms of games based on the show. I know that since they've been doing things like removing Apu from the series and having Homer no longer choking Bart that many people have complained that the show went "woke" so maybe views are down now because of these choices and they don't feel the need to make games based on the show anymore?
  17. I already made my decision by buying a PS5 over everything else. I do have a decent gaming rig now though, but I got this back in April. I don't know anything about building a PC but honestly building your own PC is probably the best thing to do if you have the money and time. Not only will you be able to run the latest games, you can play a bunch of old games too via emulation if you're interested in that.
  18. I see a market for the first Red Dead Redemption on the Switch, but for GTA IV? Eh not really, especially with VI coming out in a few years. If anything they could just wait to port GTA IV and V when the next Nintendo console is released which will most likely be a sequel to the Switch.
  19. Yes but I still prefer the Gamecube because of the design lol. Not to mention the Wii name is still lame IMO, their prototype name was much better than the final name. Sure maybe those aren't the best reasons to not really care for a console, but meh.
  20. Most of the time the PS Plus games they offer for free are okay, but this month's line up was pretty good! I have the highest tier so I also have access to some PS1 and PS2 titles that are on the platform. I wish they would add my favorite RPG on the PS1, which is Legend of Legaia but I highly doubt it. The prices went up though, so it's quite expensive but I think it's worth it since it opens up a huge library of games.
  21. Oh man I wish I had this game. It would make it much easier to play burned games, I used to do the disc swap method when I was younger but I was always afraid that I would mess up either my PS1 or the disc since you have to quickly swap discs. I have no soldering skills yet, so I can't add a mod chip to my PS1. (I got a clock kit though so I can practice soldering for Christmas though!)
  22. The Gamecube will always be my favorite Nintendo console. Sure the Wii is backwards compatible with it, but I never really cared for the motion controls for the Wii. I got my Gamecube before my PS2, so it was my main console for the sixth generation of gaming. I got it for Christmas of 2004 as mentioned in another thread. I think it was a underrated console, in fact I thought the graphics looked better than the PS2.
  23. My prediction is that we'll see more information on Nintendo's next console early next year and then it'll be released during the Holiday season next year. I always thought it was odd that the Switch came out in March of 2017, and not during the Holiday season since most game consoles usually come out around Christmas. Will it be the Switch 2? Wouldn't surprise me if Nintendo comes up with some goofy name instead, since the WiiU wasn't the best name for their Wii successor. (I believe that's one of the reasons why it didn't sell as well.)
  24. I've heard Mega Man Battle and Chase is good. I've never played it myself though, it only came out here in the states via Mega Man X collection and you had to unlock it to play it. This came out in 1997 when a lot of other cart racers came out. I honestly don't think any cart racer beats Mario Kart though. There's also Sonic Drift 1 and 2 on the Game gear, but they're alright. The first one isn't as good as the sequel.
  25. Mine was definitely my Nintendo Gamecube. I remember opening it for Christmas of 2004 and was super excited to hook it up! My grandma got it for me, and after we were done eating Christmas dinner she allowed me to hook it up to her tv and we played Mario Kart Double Dash! It was tons of fun! I believe this was the only Christmas I got a game console for, all my other consoles I got were either for my birthday or they were given to me randomly during my childhood.
