Yeah, it's been like my next life and I have a stuffed trophy to show for it. It's my own team created when I download the game that I'm managing.

I'm still alright and going strong in it 😂 but I'm planning on retiring after my 100th season.

I like the movies, episodes 1-6. After Lucas sold it to Disney, the entire franchise was destroyed to nothing but a money grab. Hell I refuse to watch Return Of The Jedi on anything but VHS, since they replaced Darth Vader with hayden fucking christianson at the end on the DVD's. And I left his name uncapitalized intentionally. I absolutely hate him and his pathetic attempts at acting. Aside from him, episodes 2 and 3 were good. They would have been better if they replaced him with a rabid monkey. Hopefully the remake 2 and 3, with someone WHO CAN ACTUALLY ACT.

    Having checked the Steam Listing for Halo 3 and seen the PC specification requirements;

My conclusion is that @Terry94's laptop is probably using integrated graphics, in other words it doesn't even have a GPU. The GeForce GTS 450 was launched 12 years ago and it's a 1GB card, and the CPU's listed are dinosaurs as well.

Exactly, it wouldn't be like I'm testing new waters like it would be if I decide to go for the recent one's.

Halo 3 is a brilliant game. I sometimes play it on my laptop, but it just barely runs so isn't the greatest experience.

Is anyone here a fan of the gaming series Football Manager? (previously known as Championship Manager)
I haven't seen anyone discuss this on here but be cool to see if anyone else does play it. I'll be honest, I don't play any of the newer Football Manager games as they're too complex for my liking. I much prefer the older ones and I'm currently playing the 2011 version, managing my home town club of Gillingham. We are in League Two so 3 leagues below the Premiership. My aim is to make them the best team in the game... Going to take a while!

I had a beating of my life from my mother the very day I forgot to what she asked me to do all because I was playing games. It practically unhooked my deep connection to games. I still feel the pains of her beating today 😂

I'm in my 30s and I still don't have a kid as yet but once I'm financially stable enough to support one. Then I'll discuss it with my partner.

It's a coin toss for me because I'm not certain which one I'll buy either or maybe you could get lucky and end up with both. Now wouldn't that be great?

Even now, a lot of gamers still take the game very seriously. It's still among my top 5 best racing video games.

It still holds up relatively well in terms of graphics even though it was made 15 years ago - I'd go as far as to say EA peaked with Most Wanted because not a single NFS game that came out after was better than it.

As @Shagger said, if you have any questions, all you have to do is ask a staff member.

You sound like you have a good situation at home. Making sure you have family friendly games due tot he age of your child, is a good course of action. If you want something more adult oriented, you could buy a cartridge and just keep it where you child won't find it. That is unless your interests stick mainly to, as you put it, "kiddie games".
The forum is well educated on the gaming industry, so you should be able to find answers to most everything. Everyone here has their specialty. Personally speaking, I'm viewed as our classic gaming expert. So if you want anything from Atari 2600 era to PS5 era, there is someone who can answer your questions.

Maybe 5 years would be considered not too old but 10 years is definitely a long time ago. There's no dispute in that one at all.

Hey everyone. I'm Terry from England.
I've been browsing this forum for a while and finally decided to join so I could join in with the activity. It's nice to see a forum that is so popular. I much prefer using forums than discord and other messaging apps.
I own a Nintendo Switch that I share with my wife, we mainly play kiddy games due to having a two year old at home. Mostly Lego games and Mario Kart. I also own a laptop that I sometimes game on but it doesn't have the best specs so I can't play any newer games.

You will be in for a shock if you do decide to try one of the newer ones. I personally prefer the old ones so currently playing 2011. The newer ones to me have too many features I don't care for, like hundreds of press conference questions, being able to use body language when communicating to players and stuff like that. I like to be able to just sign players, play matches and have fun.

Yes, the feeling is so real that you sometimes feel like you're even ready to take up an actual real life managerial job if you can get one.
The last one I played was FM 2012. I haven't played any of the recent one's in years. Talking about the game is already making me consider getting back into it.

What I love doing so much in playing Football Manager is scouting players, making press conferences and chipping in their names in it and watch them react to it. It's a robust game.

By old I mean 10+ years ago. For me; as my laptop can't handle newer games I mainly play games I grew up playing. Currently I'm playing:
Football Manager 2011 - Specifically 2011 as it's my favourite game in the series and 2011 was also my last year in school, so I have a lot of memories reading about the game instead of preparing for my exams! 😂
Left 4 Dead 2 - On Steam this game is still extremely popular and always in the top 50 most played games. It's a great game that I first played on the Xbox 360. Only down side is my laptop's video RAM is slow so by the time the the game starts everyone is already in. Thankfully 90% of people that play L4D2 wait for every player to be ready.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005, classic) - I'm a Star Wars fan and this game is just brilliant. Also, when they remade this game in 2017 the servers for the 2005 game were activated again.

It's been a while I played it, not on console, but I did it back then on a mobile phone. I enjoyed the game back then, just that it was on 2D viewer's mode.

I'm into some old PC games from the 90s/early 2000's like Dungeon Keeper. C&C Red Alert 2, Decent, Magic carpet 2 and the Wing commander series. Some of them are a bit of a challenge to get to run properly on modern hardware, but it's a labour of love.

Whenever I have a fun save going on Football Manager I tend to think about it a lot. There's so much to think about from signing new players to seeing how the NPC teams are getting on.

That's very funny but I know that feelings so well because it was the only way I could make any progress then in the game.

I remember the first time I played I would summon people to help me for every boss. That includes Pinwheel who is notoriously easy! I spent hours waiting to summon for some bosses. Once I got familiar with the game it became almost a sin to summon people so I never did unless it was a NPC like Solaire.

Who never played Dark Soul's would never understand the level of difficulty and frustration it comes with. If you're not wired hard, you can't keep it on for too long.
