  1. And this was because "getting cornholed" is something that might happen to you in prison if you crossed paths with Bubba, lol. I just looked at the pic of the sandals and made the connection. The strap that wraps around your foot and between the toes looks just like the strap that wraps around the waist and between the legs.
  2. Games are just another medium, and all mediums of entertainment are used to try and influence and shape the thinking of others. Music, Movies, and Games are all highly influential, and the people behind these will use them to promote their political and social views. In turn, many of the consumers will adopt such thinking as their own.
  3. This may or may work, depending on the individual. On the one hand, distraction during difficult times is very helpful. But at the same time, isolating oneself is no good for anybody. My suggestion would be to try and get out and surround yourself with others as much as possible. But during those times when you aren't working and aren't hanging out but are home alone, then having a good game to help distract you can prove very beneficial.
  4. I am a Cinemark Movie Club member. I recently noticed this little extra tidbit in my app when I bought tickets recently... That's a heck of a lot of visits to the theatre! In another thread, someone was asking if streaming was killing cinema. According to Cinemark, they have over 1 million members paying the monthly club dues. So I think it's safe to say no, movie theatres are doing just fine.
  5. My son wants the latest Meta Quest. Admittedly I need to research this before dropping the cash, lol.
  6. I'm grandfathered into an old TMobile plan. I have 5 lines, unlimited texts and calling and 10GB of data for each line for $120. Nobody can touch it today and I am not giving it up, lol.
  7. I have admittedly abandoned it. I really sunk a lot of time into it to. I was on level 32 and was in a local group in my town who would message each other to help with raids, lol. My wife and son still play it pretty faithfully. I don't think I will ever cultivate interest in it again.
  8. I haven't given much attention to the Switch. When the kids are on it I just jump on my PlayStation. But sometimes they rope me in to a game of Mario Party or Jeopardy.
  9. This is my problem with it. It was great back in the day, but these days it just makes the game look old, and I am more enamored by the latest and the greatest in technology and graphics.
  10. Back in my younger days, graphics was everything. Each new system brought with it a leap in graphical technology. So today, I am still of the same mindset. I would rather play a game with the graphic settings on high instead of sacrificing graphics for better frame rates.
  11. Cornhole. I was at a restaurant and they had "professional cornhole" competitions on TV. They wore jerseys and everything. I laughed out loud, lol.
  12. No, and I will avoid it like the plague. Tomorrow is black friday in the USA, and so every store will be playing that awful brainwashing crap, lol.
  13. I have a CinemaMark membership. We go to the theatre at least once a month. So I would say No, streaming is not killing the cinema. During Covid, you could rent an entire theatre for just you and your friends. That was pretty cool.
  14. I love broadway musicals, like Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Jesus Christ Superstar, etc. And I like the movie adaptations of these broadway hits also. I generally like musical movies also. When I was a kid I like Pirates of Penzance. Sweeney Todd is great, as is classics like Grease. The TV Show Scrubs had a musical episode. It was hilarious!
  15. So I am really interested in a smart watch. The problem is that I am a tile setter by trade. I tried wearing a FitBit one time, and I destroyed it in just a couple months. Cracked screen, dipped in water, etc. etc. So I don't think it's wise for me to get a smartwatch after that, lol.
  16. This thread needs resurrected 😄 Here's what's going on currently in November 2023...
  17. I'm a little skeptical of this device since it cannot play standalone games like the switch does. Do you have to be in the same home and on the same WiFi network as the PS5? Or can you take it anywhere, like on vacation?
  18. Article Source: https://www.theverge.com/2023/11/17/23966254/the-last-of-us-part-ii-ps5-remaster-leaks It will come to PlayStation 5 with a new "roguelike survival game mode", and PS4 owners of this sequel can upgrade for $10. In addition to better graphics and frame rates, there’s also a new guitar free play mode with unlockable instruments, the ability to experience some incomplete levels that were cut from the original game, developer commentary for those cut levels and the main campaign’s cutscenes, and a speed run mode. For $10, I will upgrade and play it again.
  19. This makes the 3rd one in the home, lol. However, this is our first one with an OLED screen. Each kid has a Switch. But my wife wanted one of her own.
  20. FF8 is one that I missed and need to play still. I was a Nintendo loyalist in the 90's when Square jumped ship to PlayStation. Around the same time I began adulting and partying and my interest in video games fell by the wayside for a long long time.
  21. I will shop my local Best Buy and Micro Center, and also compare it to what's on Amazon. If I can find it on Amazon cheaper, then the local stores will price match and I can walk out with it the same day. I will also buy it with gift cars that I purchased with my rewards card at a local grocery store. I get MasterCard rewards when I purchase the gift cards, and I get Fuel rewards for buying them from the local grocery store, and then I force Best Buy to price match Amazon, lol.
  22. The type of games I like (rich storyline, long campaign) requires me to pay attention to the game itself, so I never listen to music while playing.
  23. Once in a while I think about emulators. I would love to find some decent ones for the older systems I had as a child - ColecoVision, Intellivision, Atari 800, etc. Would you believe I still have my old Commodore 64? I got it out one time to show my kids what video games were like in my childhood, lol.
  24. We have an Xbox One X and 7 games. My wife got it when she started working at Meijer during their grand opening because it was going for a great price. Currently we are trying to get an idea of what it's worth and are going to sell it.
  25. I need to return to Final Fantasy 16 and finish it soon, because Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is coming February 29th and that is the one I am REALLY looking forward to. There will probably be some time between finishing 16 and the release of 7-2 where I will squeeze in a few more.
