  1. I've written 2 full length novels, several short stories, and a hell of a lot of unconventional poetry. That said, I can offer some advice. I assume you're writing fiction? The first sentence of every story is always the hardest. After that let the story write itself. Never force it. You have to have that itch to get back to writing it. But before you get too far you need to think about a few things. 1) Is it a narrative? 2) Are the characters relatable? 3) What kind of conflict will they be dealing with? 4) Is it told through eyes of a certain character? 5) Have you written a description of all the characters yet? 6) Do you know where you want to go with the story? Have you thought about the beginning, middle, and end separately so you know what you want to tell the reader? 7) Is it engaging enough to keep a person reading? 8.) Can you describe what your story is about to someone who asks? 9) Are you writing just as a hobby, or are you thinking about publishing? 10) Can YOU relate to your characters? For example in my first book, the main character was based off of me. We share a lot of the same attitude and view of the world. The only difference is that my character in that story is male, and I'm female. If you need more just ask and I'll help as much as I can. As a note to what @Withywarlock said, one of my books is currently on its 8th draft ans the other is on its 7th. More drafts will follow. Until it's perfect in my eyes, it will keep getting edits and rewrites. So don't get discouraged if you go to 7, 8, or 100 drafts. If you don't like it where it is, no one else will either.
  2. Loving your own profile that much? That's pretty narcissistic. That was always there. Ever since I signed up almost 4 years ago. It's on every Invision board.
  3. Does anyone live in or near Boston? I'm going to SatanCon next year, and having a bitch of a time finding a hotel that I can afford that isn't 45 minutes away.
  4. This was really stupid on their part. Not only is it being petty as hell, but his videos could easily have driven people to Rockstar and thus increased their sales. There's more RDR2 videos on YouTube than can be counted. Yet they aren't complaining about them. Dumbassery going overboard, as usual.
  5. The apology is too little too late. He never should have said something like that. It's nothing but body shaming. She can't do anything about her height, but even if she is a little overweight (which I can't see at all) he has no right to call her "dumpy". This asshole needs to be fired and blacklisted.
  6. This lawsuit won't even make it to court. It's as frivolous as they come, and will be dismissed immediately. That is if he doesn't have a mole or some way to get inside information to undeniably confirm and prove that they are intentionally overcharging consumers. Without that kind of rock solid proof, he is only making an ass of himself.
  7. That thing is going to carry a million dollar price tag. The only ones that could afford to own one would be Elon Musk, Mark Zetterburg, and Bill Gates. From the looks of it, it's also not street legal. As low as that thing is, the driver better pray they don't encounter a speed bump. Ridiculous as hell, if you ask me.
  8. I've had it Darkwood in my wish list for a long time now. I just don't have the money to spare to actually get it yet.
  9. I posted this on a forum that is strictly RDR2 only, but haven't gotten any responses over there yet. So I'm posting it here too since this forum is bigger and a lot more active. So I hunted him down and killed the vampire. I specifically remember picking up his dagger and saving immediately. I have the bat wings, stringy meat, and drawing of him dead in my journal. But no dagger. I tried checking my weapons locker as well, but no dagger. I also have the army knife as well. But I can't find it either. I've searched all over my saddle, in everything I can find. But they just aren't showing up. They are in my compendium, but nowhere else. The broken pirate sword is on my saddle, as well as the 2 bit hatchet. But neither of these knives are anywhere to be found. What am I missing?
  10. This sucks. The Regal theater here where I live is the only decent one. At least there's one other, even though it royally sucks.
  11. SD cards aren't like thumb drives. They are faster, more reliable, and more durable in certain circumstances. Thumb drives will degrade over time, but I have never had that issue with an SD card. They have a MUCH longer lifespan to the point that they're almost immortal. You want to stay with SanDisk as they're the best on the market. Also, I would highly recommend in not getting one smaller than 256g. The 64g that you have will barely hold anything these days. Even a 128g doesn't hold much. I have a couple, but only use them for documents. In my Switch however, I have a 512g card. As soon as I have the money, I'll be upgrading it to a 1t card, or if I can spare the money, a 2t card. Currently, at BestBuy, a 1t card is $90 (€90.10 / £75.91) and a 2t card is $180 (€180.20 / £151.82) here in the states at least. I don't know where all everyone lives, but as the majority seem to either be from the states, or Europe (or more commonly from what I can see, the UK) I only included the Euro, and British pound.
  12. Speaking for myself, I need some kind of "dark" theme for websites. My eyes are so photosensitive, that I can't tolerate that kind of glare. It's tot he point that I often have to wear sunglasses inside my house. The lights tend to not be turned on, and we only use 40 watt light bulbs. So everything I built was always set to a black background.
  13. It looked like some were domesticated and others weren't. That's the main thing that confused me.
  14. There are features with an Invision forum, related to this, but those forums are expensive. I don't know which package @DC has bought for this forum, but I didn't see any feature that would allow members to choose their own theme.
  15. They do several. Here's a list of some of their more prominent titles. LA Noire Bully Max Payne Manhunt The Warriors Midnight Club Smugglers Run Wild Metal Just a note, they do a ton of racing titles.
  16. I use an iPhone 12 Pro, and have never had an issue running all sorts of games. It has a ton of memory and "disc space" so to speak. It also has a lightning fast processor, which means little to no lag time. So I highly recommend that.
  17. I honestly don't see any way it could help mental health. A headset (gaming or not) isn't going to make a real difference. It could in fact make things worse. For example, I'm schizophrenic. Wearing a headset like that could make the voices and and visions more prominent when you take it off.
  18. I hate it when people say that. "Damn it, I lost my wallet again yesterday. I found it but it was in the last place I looked." WELL DUH! I sure as hell hope so. Terry:"Mike did you find your wallet?" Mike:"Yeah, but I'm still looking for it."
  19. Ok I've been watching this trailer for the last month or so, and I have a question. Are the animals in this game all machines, or is there something else going on?
  20. Cooking standards vary wildly all over the planet. This may be the norm and totally acceptable in India. Hell, things like that are done here in the states in some locations. I know when I worked at Pizza Hut, we weren't required to wear gloves or anything. We used our bare hands to make the pizzas. A lot of mom & pop restaurants are like that too. It is what it is. But at least the guy in the video is using his right hand to cook and leaving his left hand away from the food.
  21. If it doesn't add to the discussion, or follow the rules of the thread, you would be much better off not commenting. You have been doing better about this as of late, but you still continually post comments that completely ignore the thread topic. Either make a post that adds to the conversation, or don't reply and move on to another topic.
  22. I'm giving @Withywarlock a nomination. Since becoming a moderator he's done a fantastic job, and he's also been a quality member for quite a while. He deserves a nomination.
