  1. I remember emoticons quite well. The first time I ever saw them was in a Yahoo! chatroom. I kept asking people how they made the little smiley faces. I was probably somewhere around 17. The internet was only probably 5 years old at the time, and really small. The same sure as hell can't be said now.
  2. Any room is a panic room if you've lost your phone in it. But I think I have you beat for losing things. Because I can't tell you the number of times I've lost my glasses, only to find them on my face. I lost my phone one day, only to find it in my hand. There's a hell of a lot more, but with my memory being what it is, @Rain Dew would have to tell you them.
  3. I'll be honest with you. All I see are colors, numbers, and letters. I have no idea how to read any of that. It's well beyond my comprehension. Now as for what I'm doing this weekend, I'm looking for a spat with a clear view of the sky with as little light pollution as possible to get my telescope out. I've signed up to host a get together, and that was what I chose to do. It's sometime next month, and I just need to find a good place. I have a couple in mind, but haven't been out to fully check them out yet.
  4. Ave This band of lunatics will give you no shortage of engaging discussions. There are a few people that could be something to worry about as we’re all crazier than the rest. But if you’re civil everyone else will be too. If someone is unduly an asshole, the staff is quick to nip it in the bud. In essence, we’re always welcoming to new members, so I’m sure you will make some good friends here. Ave
  5. Killing 20 of you guys? Well I guess it's worth it to get the tonberry king. Is that you? Are you the tonberry king? Whether or not you are, I have to agree with @Shagger on this one. Just don't come up to me, stab me, and yell out DOINK, please.
  6. Hunting here requires 4 things: a hunters safety course, a gun, a license/tag, and land to be on. I got my first and only deer when I was 16. I used an open sight 30-30. I used to go bird hunting all the time. I would get our hunting dog, and go out hunting quail. I've hunted a hell of a lot of different game. Deer, turkey, quail, rabbit, squirrel, raccoon, and pheasant, just to name a few. That said, hiking was always my passion above all things. It's why I would disappear into the woods for a month every summer. I can't do that now, unfortunately, but I always loved being out in nature. All I took was a hatchet, survival knife, and my .410 shotgun. I built my own shelter, fire, and ways to cook. It was absolute bliss.
  7. I agree with several of these choices. Actually, I agree with almost all of them.
  8. If people are dead set on gaming only being for kids, I want to meet the parents who would let their 7 year old play RDR2, so I can slap the shit out of them. The language, violence, sexual content, and alcohol/drug use is really something I would consider to not be lessons for a child of that age. I haven't played it, but I would assume GTA5 would be in that same boat. Then there are horror games. A child would be so freaked out that they would sleep between their parents for 3 months before going back to their own room. Especially with the more intense horror games. Games are rated for a reason. And many are geared towards adults. Because (typically) we are able to see the difference between the real world, and games. While some a re a real world representation, they're still games. If you have such an issue with gaming, then stick to Candy Land.
  9. I usually have 2 running while I play on one of my classic systems or one of my PlayStation's. The second game running is usually a phone app. Sometimes I may have something running on my Switch. Like farming items in FF8.
  10. I know little to nothing about RE. @Rain Dew would be the one to talk about it. I've watched her play a few horror games, so I'm sure I've seen her play RE a couple times. If I remember right, she can't play the new one because it's a first person game. First person games freak her out, especially if it's a horror game. She had an instance years ago that scared the hell out of her. That's all I'm going to say though.
  11. I have several streaming apps on my phone. Netflix, Hulu, Shudder, ESPN (hockey nut), DirecTV (don't use though) and My Movies. Since so many movies come with a digital code, there was no reason not to get it. I also have YouTube and RDR2 apps, but that's another topic for another time.
  12. When I was a kid I was an avid hunter, and I've played several hunting games. Cabela makes good games, and they're usually pretty realistic. Their first ever game was on PC, and it had CGI and sometimes even actual footage for you to shoot when the animal was found. I haven't played any hunting games like that in decades. Now considering how much technology has advanced since then, I would bet the games are much more interactive. But if you're not an actual hunter, I wouldn't see any reason to open them. You could always bundle them and sell them on Craigslist. You could probably get a pretty penny for them.
  13. I would say RDR2. In the beginning of the game, everyone is tighter than blood. But when you reach Chapter 4, everything starts falling apart. Everyone is turning on each other, and betrayals start to happen. Not to mention several gang members abandoning the gang and running away to save their own lives. What was once a family, completely dissolves, and those you previously loved and trusted, end up being the ones you're running from as they're now trying to kill you.
  14. Layers Of Fear isn't an action game. It's a psychological mess-with-your-mind kind of horror. A lot of people want action horror games, and that's fine. I hope you have fun with Outlast 1 & 2. But I like the psychological kind of horror best. It messes with your head while you're playing it, and sometimes it stays with you after you're done playing. If this were a movie, I would compare Outlast to Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Layers Of Fear would best be compared to Rose Red.
  15. I got it July 25th. As for plans of changing anything, @Rain Dew bought me a red controller. Other than controller colors, I don't plan on doing anything else to customize it. That may change in the future, but for now I'm not altering it.
  16. What country are you from again?
  17. Netflix was on Switch at one point a few years ago. But for some reason Netflix and Nintendo apparently had some issues between them, so Netflix isn't available anymore. All I'm aware of at this point is YouTube and Hulu.
  18. They can help learn critical thinking and decision making, but most notably, hand/eye coordination.
  19. One of the most easily modable games from what I can see is Skyrim. So you might check it out.
  20. Favorite: fantasy. Zelda for example. Least Favorite: military games. CoD for example.
  21. Google Glass anyone? I see their possible attempt at a VR device following it down the same rabbit hole.
  22. If you're talking about Nintendo Online, you don't have to have a Nintendo account. You just have to have a Hulu account. If you're talking about ability to use the eShop, then you would need to set up a profile. That's all it takes. It's a free download, so you're not needing money to get it on you're Switch. I just wish Netflix was still available on it. But they pulled that one a couple years ago. At least YouTube is still on there.
  23. Ave You will find no shortage of things to discuss here. So kick back, reply to threads, create threads, and have fun. Ave
  24. I have to ask: what is IMO? Unless you're saying "In My Opinion" I don't get what it is.
