I miss the community aspect of the games and the over-reliance on graphics to be the standard for a good game.  I will never forget the evenings spent with a microphone, my Xbox 360, and a group of friends playing together and meeting new people while playing grifball.  Gaming has followed everything else in life.  It's about the money and notoriety.  Casual gaming is no more imo.

It's been raining all day here. yet still it's booming all over. The thing about the fourth is that people buy so many damn fireworks that takes them over a moth to set all of them off. And I have to listen to this shit literally all night long. It never stops until the tents are down for the year, and people have blown up all their stash. Which usually lasts until the middle of August. So these days I have grown to hate fireworks, and dread the fourth.
But I'll be in KC next weekend for Crypticon, so hopefully it will die down a bit after that.

I see continuous remakes, and next edition of games that should have been done ten titles ago. Things like Mortal Kombat. I get that it's an extremely popular series. But it's getting to the point where it's like "Ok. It's time to stop. We don't need to see Scorpion taking a shit, since that's all that's left." I'm personally getting really sick of it. Hell due to this constant "next in the series" shit, I almost can't bring myself to play the original MK on my SNES anymore. It's like Friday The 13th. There are literally 10 sequels and one remake. Can we say STOP?

I couldn't stand FF9. For the very reasons you gave. It was nothing but a shitty cartoon. And the storyline? 🤮

FF8 definitely. Though in terms of the story, I'd still vote for the recent FF that was released. Though it's not exactly RPG form for recent FF.

The Blackangel got a reaction from DylanC in Illegal Immigration
It all depends on the reason for the immigration. If you're coming from an extremely poor, shithole country then welcome to America. If you're seeking asylum to save your life because you're a certain religion, LGBTQ, severely against the regime of your home country, in a war torn region, or anything else that threatens the life of you and those you love, then welcome to America. If you just want to jump the border for no reason, then get the hell out. But if you want my opinion, immigrants are the best thing for this country. Those of us that have lived here all our lives take a lot of things for granted. Whereas the immigrants that come here don't. The take those things with so much respect that it actually opens our eyes a bit. I know someone who is an immigrant, and he loves the freedoms and programs that the rest of us either complain about all the time, or just flat out don't notice. Just because we were born into it.
Immigrants can only improve this country, unless they're a drug cartel or some terrorist group. We have our own terrorist groups here. We don't need yours.

Can the reverse fit into this conversation? I was a pro-am snowboarder when I was younger. I’ve always hated sports games but I love snowboarding games. I played basketball all the time as a kid, but that doesn’t mean I want anything to do with NBA 2K19.

The same game I've talked about many times here. Blaster Master. If I couldn't play it ever again, I would simply go nuts. I probably wouldn't be able to bring myself to get on my NES ever again.

@DC I would take some friends who have become family to a car lot to get them a reliable car since theirs is about to completely crap out on them.

For me, the biggest 2 that I can think of are Zelda: Majoras Mask and [I[Zelda: Links Awakening[/I]. They both begin incredibly boring with no real direction laid out, and are just slow as hell. But once you spend an hour or 2 playing around and get a feel for the game and make a little bit of progress, they become really fun and actually quite addictive. The first disc of FF8 is slow as hell, but I can't say it turns me off from the game the way the other 2 do.

The Blackangel got a reaction from StaceyPowers in How much are you willing to pay for a console?
That depends. Are we talking next gen consoles strictly, or are we talking any console from any generation? If it's next gen, then it depends on all its capabilities. Is it reverse compatible? How far? Is it DVD/Blu-ray/4K DVD?  What are the specs? Will a rerelease have more capabilities (think Xbox One X)? Are there any add-ons that I would have to buy?
Previous generations, it depends on what comes with it. How many games, controllers, cables, memory, etc. If it's a cartridge system, say SNES, is it the first series or second series? Is it complete in box, or just a loose console?
It really varies on SO much.

If I have any interest in new generation consoles, I always wait at least a year to buy one. The price will have gone down after that, bugs will have been fixed, and there will be more games available. It’s a win/win to me.

The Blackangel got a reaction from killamch89 in WHO now officially lists "gaming disorder" as a disease
The problem there is that SJW's are completely bigoted and intolerant. They go nuclear if something doesn't fit into their tiny bubble of "ME ME ME". In their eyes every last person on earth is required to conform to what they want at all times. Individuality is a crime now. If I wasn't in a wheelchair, I would like to stomp every one of them I see into the ground. They are doing nothing good for the world. They are only fucking up literally EVERYTHING they touch.

@StaceyPowers You knew this was coming. It's almost like you baited me.😉 Final Fantasy 8. It has great quests and side quests, also if you want to stop at pretty much any random point and power up your characters, you can do that as well. Right now for example I'm at the end of disc 2 getting ready to go into Galbadia Garden. but I stopped to play Triple Triad to get some cards so I could mod them into items I needed so I could improve everyone's weapons. I'm also just running back and forth on the Hasberry Plains beach killing Fastitocalon-F's and Adamantoise's to collect AP to learn a few abilities. I have the first 9 GF's, and I'm going to be collecting 2 more when I get to Galbadia Garden. I play and replay this game hundreds of times a year. I can't say definitely for sure, but I think this is most likely my absolute favorite game ever. There's only one reason I can't give 100% yes on that: Zelda. If it wasn't for Zelda, then I could say that FF8 is my absolute favorite game.

Went to see it last night. It wasn't as good as I was hoping. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't good enough that it's something I can see myself watching again.

I could almost say Ocarina Of Time, but my problem is that I'm a lousy shot with the bow and slingshot. So, I've never gotten the biggest quiver or seed bag. But that also kept me from getting a couple heart pieces as well. So I'm almost there, but not quite. Hell just killing big poes to get the 4th bottle was a pain in the ass for me.

For me that would have to be FF8. I always end up feeling close to the characters. Like they're family, or like I was at the orphanage with them. Like I'm the 7th member of the group. The story is just so captivating that the world around me ceases to exist. But I know how to keep myself in the real world. I have my babies (4 dogs, 2 birds, 1 rat) and they always come first.
This is my macaw. His name is Dante's Inferno. He's an evil little bastard, but he's still my buddy.

Gaming gave me an escape from an abusive home. I was able to become someone else, somewhere else. So there's a chance gaming helped keep my mental state somewhat together, and saved my life.

Not as good as the first one but still funny as hell. Ryan Reynolds always does an amazing job in roles with characters who are complete cynics.

All the fist weapons in Castlevania: SOTN. They are absolutely useless. Sure some of them up your attack in the beginning, but you have to be so damn close to the creature that you're gonna take more damage than you're going to deal out. That's why I keep my Alucard items in the beginning.
