Y-yeah, sorry about that. YouTube age-restricted the video making it not playable without signing in. Still, glad you enjoyed the trailer.

I don't really want a Soul's games that's easier. Some members may remember I can't stand these games not because of the difficulty, but because of their approach to difficulty. It's all about trial in error a deliberately unbalanced combat scenario where enemy vaurnabilties and attack patterns are cryptic and explotitive of conventional player strategies. That's a cheap and low method to increase a difficulty to me. I'm even tempted to say these games aren't challenging because it's a test of patience rather than skill or strategy and all one really needs to beat them is time, time that, in my opinion, these games don't deserve. So my advice to anyone who wants a challenge is play something like Hellblade, Horizon Zero Dawn, The Last of Us or even Skyrim with the difficulty turned up to max. That way you get a game with a challenge to match any Soul's game, but also a game that doesn't sell itself only on basis of how it hard it is, it actually has other qualities. HZD in particular on Ultra Hard, especially with The Frozen Wilds expansion, is the hardest yet most satisfying game I've ever beaten.

Here it is, after over 20 years Mortal Kombat is coming back to movie theatres, and I gotta say, it's looking damb good. The original movie from 1995 I actually really enjoyed. I found it very funny with good action, impressive special effects for the time, a compelling story and an astonishing soundtrack. However, I do understand why that film divides opinion mostly because I'm willing to admit its catastrophic flaw, it was made for too young an audience. I don't blame the movie for that, it was 1995, and back then the relationship between video games and other media wasn't like it is now. Anyone proposing a movie based on a video game, even one as infamously violent as Mortal Kombat, made for adults would have have been laughed out of any Hollywood producers office. This new movie, quite clearly, has fixed that issue. The violence is as brutal as it always should have been. I hope it doesn't take itself too seriously and makes room for a bit of that dark comedy, but overall I'm looking forward to this. (You'll notice I didn't reference Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, it's better for my mental health if I pretend that movie never existed.)

I can't pretend to know what you're going through right now, but please know, whenever you're ready, we're here for you. I'm so sorry for your loss.

For their own sake, scalpers need to stop talking to the press and boasting on social media. Most conmen and crooks at least have enough common sense to take the ill gotten cash and keep quiet. We all know, and they all know, exactly what they're doing and why it's wrong, so that they would try to justify themselves is simply amazing. It actually goes beyond belief. For somebody to be that arrogant and successful, yet so delusional and stupid, I'm almost impressed.

Hi and welcome to VGR. First, I'll move this to the Video Games Sub-Forum as that is section to discuss specific games. As for the topic, I'm not much of a Battlefield fan, but I can say with some confidence that success in those kinds is game com from teamwork and practice. The main difference as far as I can see between COD and Battlefield is the team size, so if there's something you need to adapt to, I'd say it's that, but I'm not an FPS expert in any way.

Just some visual representation, here are Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey; Overall, I'm fairly happy with this choice. Assuming this is based on the first game, I may have chosen someone a little bit younger to play Ellie (Bella is 17, whereas Ellie was 14 in that game), but that's a nitpick and what's more important is that they've found two very capable actors. This is looking promising.

Did you notice that cheat codes aren't a thing anymore?
Shagger replied to Patrik's topic in Gaming Forum
Pretty much this. Some games still have modifiers and fun things to adjust (TLOU2 and Tales of Berseria come to mind), but what we used to recognise as cheat codes mostly take the form of microtansactions these days. -
Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning. I posted about this in detail for a "Shagger Says" style review, but the TL;DR is the game runs like ass on PC because the original game engine was not updated to load the larger, higher res' textures and by playing console I found the game has way more graphical glitches that I remember the original having. All that for a game that looks almost no better than it did on a PS3 or Xbox 360. It's a great game, just a shame the remaster has been botched the way it has.

Everyone is suing Activision for copying characters
Shagger replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
You have a point. GI Bro was meant to be something of a cliché. Put any muscular black man in a camo vest and it's going to resemble GI Bro. -
What? First, assuming you're referring to an accidental discharge or misfire of a gun, that would be a mechanical failure, not a human error. Second, what has any of this got to do with cyber attacks or EA?

Nintendo Forced Cancellation of Near-Finished Goldeneye 007 Remake
Shagger replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
Not necessarily. Nintendo have an unfortunate, but very well earned reputation for being over zealous when it comes to protecting their IP's and not understanding ho bet use modem social media and media sharing to mutually benefit both themselves and fans. They've made more than their fair share of mistakes (cough.. cough... WiiU... cough) and can't seem too adapt to change as easily as other companies. -
Hello, I'm the forum moderator here at VGR. Firstly, you have actually put this post in the wrong section, but don't worry, I'll move it for you. Second, in what do you mean "how things work"? Without a more specific query, it's difficult to know how to help you.

Then why did you post a reply?

Anything that claims to offer such an opportunity is NOT to be trusted. My better half has this something on her phone that allows her to loyalty points for spending time on mobile games and watching their adds that she can redeem on that same company's other products on the Play Store, but that's very different from actually earning money from playing a game. That dream is nothing more than bait for a hook. That's why I've decided to lock this thread, it serves no purpose other than to offer a place for people to post these dodgy deals. Also, everything that needed to said, has been said already. We just don't need to discuss this any further. Don't fall for these things, whether you see them here or somewhere else. If looks to good to be true, it almost certainly is, especially on the Internet.

Black Myth: Wukong, a new Chinese Action Adventure RPG

The gane would be hard to locate because it isn't out yet. -
What is the most you would pay for a video game?
Shagger replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
True enough, so it doesn't make sense to keep both topics. I'll lock this one and encourage @StaceyPowers and other members to discuss that matter on @m76's thread. -
Is there drug testing to join an esports league?
Shagger replied to Kane99's topic in Esports & Competitive Gaming
I know you're just asking out of curiosity, but aware that, in certain circles, that's a very alarming question to ask. -
Of course you're allowed to post about this, and I'm not accusing you of anything. So, calm down. I'm just trying to get a dialogue going that might help me understand the appeal of the kinds of games, because I just get them. I get the appeal of GTA because that's an indulgence into that fantasy of the danger of being in the criminal underworld. It's a world that's mad, fun, over the top and exciting because it's a fantasy. An accurate simulation of patrolling, doing traffic stops and filling out paperwork is none of those things because it's a simulation. There are indeed people who roleplay as cops in GTA5, but how may more are role playing as bank robbers, gangsters or salt of the earth, good old lunatics? But whatever people choose to do, what they definitely don't choose is to embrace the tedious. Like these guys, they're not doing the mundane stuff, they're goofing around, as so they should: This is what I found when I went to YouTube and played the first video that came up. Another thing that's important, like I said, is world that GTA has explore, it's not the one we experience in everyday life. The very first thing in this clip is a police recruitment poster that reads: Short Career Long Retirement Full Pension Free Gun That's the world of GTA. It's a joke, a parody, a fantasy. That's what makes games fun, by offering all the glamour and empowerments of a roleplay without the without having to deal with the tedium, the consequences and the responsibility. That's why games like Police Simulator don't make sense to me because, as far as I can tell, they offer the exact opposite.

Valve and five PC games publishers fined $9.4M for illegal geo-blocking
Shagger replied to Tool920's topic in Gaming News
I don't get why @Empire and @skyfire are being so negative about this. What Valve and the other companies listed were doing was blocking game codes purchased in one part of the EU from being used in another parts of the EU. Remember, the all of Europe is part of the PAL region, so there should be region blocking for software nor hardware. These companies did this to ensure that people were paying the highest price for those games across the whole continent no what matter what that country's indigenous market, economic status and local law dictates as fair, which is incredibly shady and purpose built to rip people off. As gamers, we should be praising them for taking this action. Quick reminder, as a mod', this is not the politics sub-forum, so please avoid the political discussion. You wanna talk politics, do so on the correct part of the forum. -
Name any of the seemingly endless series "simulator" games out there, odds are this company published it. This is nothing new, and with all due respect, nothing interesting. At least Police 1013's development has been such a spectacular train wreck that it made discussion of the game interesting. Besides, if you're gonna create a game whare you role play as a police officer, why make it a simulation of what is, in reality, quite a boring, bureaucratic job? Games like Farming Simulator and Construction Simulator (1,2 and 3, all published by the same company, btw) are at least boring because that's the limits of the reality they emulate, it's not the fault of the game. But in a police sim', there is no such excuse because there is exiting fantasy lurking around such a concept that this game clearly has no intention to embrace. The trailer makes the game look even more boring that I had even feared. I checked out the developer, and honestly, there's very little to say. Based in Germany with a handle of indie's that don't connect to this game in any way. They're not responsible for this game's identity and were clearly a developer for hire. This just another Astragon "Simulator". It could have been made by just about anyone and it would be exactly the same. Sorry to be so harsh @Kane99, but I don't really understand why you even posted this. Your post reads like a promotion of a dull rendition of an unoriginal concept that'll likely be forgotten even before it comes out. That's why I've gone to this length with this much detail in creating this reply, because I need you understand why I don't understand why you're excited for this. So, why are you excited for this, especially over other police games?

Black Myth: Wukong, a new Chinese Action Adventure RPG

May as well give this a bump as we have a new trailer. Enjoy.
