  1. NO!!!!  Really!?  The Silent Hill rumours that I and everyone else semi-sensible been saying were bullshit this entire time were in fact.... bullshit?  Well consider me spiffled!!!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this fanbase nobody but themselves to blame.  I think it's about time they finally got their head out their asses and took some responsibility for their own gullible optimism.

They believed Abandoned was secretly a Silent Hill project even after Konami and even Kojima confirmed they have nothing to do with it.  I remember (and even getting some flack for) saying at the time there was nothing suggesting that this had anything to do with Silent Hill and fuck me, I was right.  The fanbase even had the nerves blame the the dev's because when they saw the viral marketing they voluntarily cherry picked it apart letting them think Abandoned was something it wasn't.  Fucking pathetic!

Then some time later Boober Team confirm they are partnership with Konami and they do a hop, skip and a jump right back on that train screaming "Silent Hill!  Silent Hill!".  Then of they course they are forced to make a statement saying that there is no Silent Hill project in production back in June.  Then months later these "leaks" show up and they let themselves get wound up, AGIAN, expecting some announcement at TGS which of course, never happened.

What is wrong with these people!!  The rumours of a Silent Hill game from Bloober were confirmed to be wrong months before any of the "leaks" and you still believed it.  To tell the truth, I actually commend this guy for exposing just how narrow eyed and gullible this fanbase truly is.  The fact he can post a rumour that had already been debunked months earlier and it can still such a huge amount of traction is mind blowing.  I sure as hell wouldn't be sorry for it, I'd be like:

WAKE UP!!!!!  Until Konami confirms otherwise there are no Silent Hill projects in production.  End of story!

Next time there is a Silent Hill rumour, ignore it.  So when it inevitably doesn't pan out you might come out of it not looking like a bunch of fools.

  2. I know some people who have were bit by the gambling bug badly, spending at times hundreds of pounds on a single bet.  There is no doubt in my mind it can be just as addicting as Drugs or Alcohol but people generally don't seem to take non-chemical addictions as seriously and that's part of the problem.

  3. I've downloaded and seen some of the leaked footage now and I seriously cannot believe some of the complaints that people have been posting.  I'm not going to get into to much detail since it's a 3.2GB package with 90 videos but I've taken a couple of screenshots:

In this video it seems like the devs are testing aspects of the AI with a robbery scenario.  I think this one is from an earlier build because you can seen in the corner that it's running on a GTX 1080 whereas most of the rest of the test footage is running on a 2080 Super, but even that is a hardware from a couple of years ago.  So I would say this is probably from around 2020 if not earlier and considering how early in production it is It's actually looking way more polished than I would have expected.  I mean yes as you can see there are some missing textures especially in the NPC character models but the game looks in terms of functionality like it running pretty well.

In this one the protagonist is having a shootout with some cops.  I think this one is probably from a later build as the textures on the NPC's and other objects look more complete and the animations seems a bit smother and more refined.  Other mechanics like the wanted system seem to be functioning and there are placeholder text boxes with stuff like "calling for backup" so it seems like there are other mechanics and AI responses that have been programmed as well.

Considering that this footage is obviously way pre-alpha I'm actually quite encouraged.  There has clearly already been a lot of work done with the AI, there's already voice acting and music and the visuals although not complete in this leaked footage are looking pretty good.

After skipping fifa for a year for the first time in like forever, i feel like i'm going to get fifa 23 aswell, it's hard to admit it but i kinda miss playing a few matches of football here and there in between games and you know manager mode and career mode seem to have gotten an upgrade so it made me kinda curious wheter or not it's going to be any good but I usually got my money's worth out of fifa games.

It's the same game it was two years ago.. it's the same game it was five years ago!  Emporio Armani's new face has moved  from Barcelona to Madrid.  Nobody in a gaming mind frame gives a crap but sport gamers continue to pay full price year after year for them to make some edits using Microsoft Word.

  5. My penis has leaked... I expect a like from everyone who cares....

Now GTA6 is in production as we know but (much like my penis) It's going to be a long time before it secretes anything useful if it ever happens at all until release.

The game is not going to get an AO rating, anyone who has been paying attention to the topic would know that. I'm not sure what went wrong with the promotional material and trailers that shipped with the game's announcement, but it's becoming clear that one of two things have happened.

    1. Somebody made a mistake and showed the wrong rating logo in the trailer and the accompanying material.
    2. The ESRB did give the game an AO rating based on what they knew of the game initially and Ubisoft would then (obviously) make changes to the game to avoid that rating, but were unable to present these changes to the ESRB before the game's announcement.

Either way, the AO rating is clearly not going to happen.

It was almost certainly number 1.  Don't misunderstand me, Assassins creed has had a lootbox mechanic (albeit a more indirect one) since at least Origins and I, like most most gamers, consider lootboxes to be sleight up gambling.  Here however, we are talking about the subterranean standards of the ESRB and PEGI that only consider it gambling if you can pay real money in AND cash real money out.  There is no fucking way that Ubisoft go anywhere near a system like that in a mainstream release!

Yeah, I followed up on that guy's story and he was horrible at it. Even though IGN haven't always been putting much effort in their reviews, the guy's work wasn't anything to write home about.

I remember that.  He was caught plagiarising a review of Dead Cells from a smaller creator, then after he tried to defend himself by challenging everyone to find more examples of plagiarism his "work".  Of course they did MANY times over which effectively flushed his entire career down the crapper.  Jim Sterling made a quite entertaining video the whole thing.

This morning, Konami showed off a new Suikoden game. They have more games lined up for this afternoon at Tokyo Game Show. But because of their policy on showing violent games, I seriously doubt Silent Hill will be making an appearance later on.

If anything like that were to be shown off at any event, it would likely be at the big one, which is the Game Awards.

I think the main reason they didn't show showcase any Silent Hill games is because they are (most likely) not publishing any!

@Candy Stick I'm only saying this to help, you seriously need to stop!  It seems like every time Konami starts to stand up you think their about to announce a Silent Hill game and you get all worked up.  They they just fart into their chair, pretend it doesn't stink and sit back down!  Outside of blind optimism from fans like yourself I have not seen any activity that suggests that any project under the Silent Hill IP is even in pre-production, let alone about to be announced at TGS, TGA, E3, Gamescom or anywhere!  Yet everyone pisses themselves at every opportunity when it comes to rumours about this damn game, the latest being these "screenshots" from Bloober Team's already debunked "Silent Hill 2 Remake":

    image.png.593c9a55822fe458e3536537662606c9.png

IT'S JUST SOME GUY STARING IN A MIRROR!  But it seems like the only scenario where such a one of a kind dramatic moment could happen is a Silent Hill project right? Even that's assuming the screenshot is genuine which it almost certainly isn't.  I'd call it a joke but it really isn't funny anymore.  PLEASE wake up and start smelling this bullshit for what it is.

  9. I remember hearing that there was a remake of Goldeneye that was planed to be released for the Xbox 360 in the same way as Perfect Dark.  I was complete and even playable through XBox Live developer access, but was never publicly released due to licensing issues.  I'm guessing they have resolved those issues and it's pretty much that version (maybe with some more modern tweaks) that's finally coming out.

  10. I haven't regularly read a newspaper in years, to honest I think tabloids are mostly full of crap.  They claim to report "News" but always from some kind of bias, not to mention printed papers are always at least day out of date not exactly kind to the environment.  I know some of these problems exist with online articles too but you can check their sources and it's just much more convenient.

  11. I wasn't a fan of Breath of the Wild either. The world was far to big and difficult to traverse.  It's a ridiculous amount of busy work to expand the health and stamina gages enough to make any progress.  The Inventory (for weapons in particular) was far to small and badly designed which wouldn't have been such an issue if you have to switch weapons every 10 seconds during combat because they break all the time.  For everything that is great about it like the combat, puzzles and depth of exploration and secrets that Zelda games are known for, there is something else needlessly tedious and/or down right annoying as hell.

That's too bad, any chance this will work on PC? I figure if it at least works on PC, I would consider buying it. I know the Xbox pro controller works on PC, or it should at least. I can see a lot of people still using their PS4s, so if I was Sony I'd make it possible to play on both. Xbox controllers today work on last gen Xbox consoles.

The Dualsense works on PC so I don't see why this wouldn't, there's even a couple of games that support haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.  I was actually thinking about getting a new controller I can use exclusively with my gaming laptop but I think this and the XBox Elite, although very good, are just a bit to expensive.

I've always had a Dell, 2 of them and this last one I have here (it's actually my niece's) is also Dell.

In your opinion, which is the cheapest yet most reliable? I am looking to get a new laptop or Chromebook by the end of the month.

No more squinting and stressing out my neck typing on this phone. Thanks!

In my personal experience the specific brand doesn't make much of a difference. ASUS, Acer, Dell, Lenovo... They are all competing with each other the price and quality doesn't consistently vary much.

Can you give some more details about what you need this Laptop for?  Is it just for internet browsing?  Do you need it for work and if so what kind?  Do you intend to game on it and if so do have a budget and/or targets for FPS and resolution?

If one can afford paying above 500 dollars for a Playstation 5, then affording the pro controller that is just $70 won't be an issue, in my opinion. What matters here is whether you have the need for it or not.

Well it's not going to be $70, that's barely more that the standard DualSense.  In the UK XBox's current equivalent, Xbox Elite Series 2, is retailing at £142 ($163) on Amazon.  I'd expect the DualSense Edge to be about the same.
