Well here's some Nintendo Switch related bullshit to brighten up your day:

In case your not aware the Anniversary Edition of Skyrim is basically the same as the Special Edition except it's got The Creation Club content included.  Creation Club is where you go to pay money for user created mods instead of going to Nexus Mods to get far superior content for free because.... your a jackass. The Anniversary Edition is something like £15/$20 upgrade or £43/$50 full purchase on PC Steam for this over a decade old game and it's almost universally agreed by Stream users that this clearly not worth it.  Yet not only is it $70 on the Nintendo Switch, as I can tell there's no option to upgrade either!  It's the full whack $69.99 even if you own the Special Edition already.

I genuinely don't understand how Nintendo keep getting away with charging such a premium which has happened multiple times.  Why are games so expensive on the Switch when in many cases the ports are inferior?  This is ridiculous.

Small Correction here.  I couldn't see it on the browser version of the EShop (probably because I don't have the game on Switch) but it turns out you can upgrade for $20.  However, the upgrade path is still cheaper on PC and the other consoles.

  2. I'm fucking sick of Apple.  They keep coming up with really dumb anti-consumer ideas that everyone inevitably copies..  They took away removable batteries, they took away the SD Cards, they took away the headphone jack and now their doing away with physical SIM cards.  So in future if you want to switch networks or use an alternative SIM going abroad or international calls were going to have to go through some god forsaken online verification process.  Not to mention you can now officially forget about any SIM free options or choosing your own network.  FUCK THIS!!!!!  Apple can take long walk off a short dick!

I don't want to imagine lol. On Ultimate it must take like hours to take down some late game boss machines.

It doesn't really extend the time it takes to take down the biggest machines by very, it just makes it more difficult.  Their more aggressive, do more damage, spot you from a further distance, the health bars are removed, stuff like that.  Weather you kill them or they kill you most fights are less than 5 minuets.

  4. I don't know but I think it will vary from game to game.  Steam does have optimization options for different controller sets including PlayStation controllers, but in my experience (again, it varies from game to game) XBox orientated controllers tend to work better in terms of functionality.

When it comes the particular issue of sensitivity, I've used both XBox and PlayStation controllers and they tend to be about the same.  Even if you do find the sensitivity not to your liking most games have sensitivity adjustments in their own in game setting options.

Dude search around, you wouldn't see one around, this is a new English football season, we can't continue bumping new thread for a new season. We still have football lovers in here, allow the post to be. I understand that VGR is a gaming forum, but their is nothing wrong to talk about sports as an off topic discussion in the forum. If such isn't in need, DC' wouldn't include the sports section here.

Well it's a continuous event so I think you could without any issue.  I think you could include Scottish, International, European and other leagues in the same thread without confusion.  I'm not trying to take a dump on this interest, I'm actually trying to help.  Spreading multiple leagues and tournaments over multiple topics will only result in most (if not all) of them flaming out.  Having one or two threads dedicated to the discussion will keep active for longer if not indefinitely.

I didn't find any thread to discuss about ongoing Premier League 2022/2023 season actions. Let's use this thread to talk about all actions in this season's premier league 2022/2023.

I have to disagree.  There are lots of threads discussing the topic that this fits into and I personally don't feel like one this specifically is necessary on a forum that isn't focused on this sport.  It's like having a thread on a forum for Manchester United exclusively about the heavy metal band Alestorm, how much traffic does that really need given the nature of the people involved?  One topic under the banner "Heavy Metal" would be more than enough.

I still use a guide to get through the water temple in Zelda OoT. That temple is so vast and such a maze that after more than 20 years, I still can't find my way around by memory. Add in having to change the damn water levels and your boots all the damn time, that makes it worse than any other temple. It is all but impossible. For the rest of the game, I have no problem. They're easy as hell. It's just that damn water temple that causes me to break out the guide.

I've heard endless complaints about the Water Temple in OoT and at risk of pissing some people of, I've never seen what all the fuss is about.  By my recollection all you really have to do is sink to bottom, explore every accessible room, raise the water level, rinse and repeat.  Sure you are punished with some pain in the ass backtracking if you miss something but if you just follow that pattern that won't happen.  I always remember the Spirit Temple being more complicated and the Shadow Temple being more of a mindfuck, I mean the final boos is literally a bongo playing penis with disembodied hands!

Same, I mean I thought that the 4000 series would use more power and yet they said only by 100watts - In fact I was pleaseed about that 🙂 however the cost of the new cards are just too much, the cost of them what shocked some people. I'm also after a new card and might stick with the 3000 series. Yet even so my max is £700

Nvidea are being very disingenuous when it comes to their marketing on these.  There are variants in the line up that have different amounts of RAM on board.  That's fine, we've seen different amounts of memory being put on the same chipsets before.  What they are being really sly about that they different boost clocks and CUDA core counts as well.  So the 4080 12Gb isn't really a 4080 at all because it has 26% less CUDA cores that 3080 16Gb.

I agree to some extent. I think Goldeneye has aged fairly poorly in terms of graphics though. I think for this remaster, they just updated the visuals/locations and character models. But I think that was it. They may have changed the shooting mechanics, but I don't know, as the Perfect Dark HD remaster didn't change the shooting mechanics. So maybe it won't be the same.

Graphics for PS1/N64 haven't aged well. A lot of the early 3D games look horrible today. It sometimes bothers me to play retro games on these consoles, because a lot of them have aged so poorly that I honestly get eye strain for playing too long. I'm surprised I was able to survive these games back when I was a kid lol.

Considering how life like the graphics are today, anything from the Wii and back has outdated graphics that most would consider extremely poor. I saw somewhere online someone saying that people who play any old graphics aren't real gamers. I let the kid have it. I've been gaming since before a lot of the members here were even born. I love 2, 8, 16, and 64 bit graphics. I'm the type of person who doesn't care what other people are into. For example, I listen to Nickleback. Sure the world may hate them, but I like their music, so I see no reason to not listen to them.

With the PS1/N64, by comparison to today's graphics you're absolutely right. They haven't aged well. The only graphics I can think of that even come close to being realistic, are the cutscenes in FF8. Everything else was pixelated as hell. But that was simply due to the graphic capabilities of the time. Also there were no motion capture games. It was all completely digital animation.

So now that we have actors both in voice and action, the games we have are basically interactive movies.

But, you also have to remember that a lot of us value nostalgia. With me, it could possibly be a little excessive. I listen to 80's rock, play 80's games, and drive a 1987 Iroc-Z.
Have ever I mentioned that I'm a child of the 80's?

The graphics aren't a big issue for me, Like @The Blackangel I find them nostalgic and charming.  The bigger problem is the controls which, I'm sorry to say, nostalgia doesn't rescue.  A the time the controls on Goldeneye were revolutionary for consoles, but since the introduction of twin sticks which have become industry standard across all systems this control scheme is awkward and of putting.  I'm not just saying that out of speculation either, I've played Perfect Dark on the XBox One and it feels really off compared to modern shooters.

P.S:  Out of curiosity when I do a "quote in quote" like I just did do both users get notified?

  11. I remember when there was no internet (at least commercially) but there has a been computers in some form or another since around the middle of the 20th century.  You would have to be in your seventies to older that the first computers, and even that if you disregard other "Computing" tools like the Abacus or the sliderule.

I say we should hang on a little longer. The Game Awards is happening in 3 months.

At least give this tweet the benefit of the doubt until then. 2022 is winding down. So after the year is up, there will be no reason to care, or a reason to celebrate.

For fucks sake can you try to do something that clearly none of these people posting these tweets, articles and videos are doing and think about it!  These ratings are only applied after the publisher submits a presentation detailing all the content in the game.  In order to have enough content to make this presentation the game would have to exist as at least as a fully assembled Beta.  So unless Konami have decided to sit on this for the last 2 - 3 years without announcing or doing any kind of promotional work a all, there is no way that development is far down the road yet.  It just doesn't add up!

I'd be happy if this turned out to be a full console and PC release, I'd be be glad to be wrong.  I'm telling you if "Silent Hill: The Short Message" is real, it's a Pachinko machine, arcade or maybe a mobile game at best.

Another thing, if this is a console and PC release of the next main entry in the Silent Hill franchise, I find it very unlikely to be announced at the VGA's.  I don't know how much of the history between the VGA's/Geoff Keighley and Konami your aware of, but let's just say not exactly tight.

I can't even pretend to be surprised, but Skull and Bones has been delayed yet again. The game was due for release in November, but has now been delayed to March 2023. From Kotaku.

I actually am kinda surprised.  They don't to have much else coming out this fall and I thought that Skull and Bones had become a Albatross around their necks that they would want to get out quickly considering all the problems it's had getting made.

"Uniana" in Korea has been publishing games for Konami for years...

Their recent free to play soccer game got rated as well by the same publisher. So I do think it's a genuine certification.

So far, no-one on YouTube has really been iffy about this, and saying it's all BS.

Let's assume this leak is genuine, which I'm not totally convinced it is. Considering the fact that this certification only seems to have been filed for Korea, it's likely to a product for that specific market.  Like a Patchinko machine or some other sort of arcade unit that is unlikely to see release outside of Asia. There is no way it's a main entry into the Silent Hill franchise because this marketing approach, by which mean not marketing it all, does make any sense even by their subterranean loony standards.

As for there be no YouTubers calling it out, my best guess is most bigger channels wouldn't consider this worth covering because it's not going to anywhere even if it's real.  If it turns out to just another asshole chasing clout it will damage their reputation.  Why risk getting egg on your face for nothing.

    Oh... WOW! 😊

Do you serious.....  Actually hang on a second:

That's better,...  Anyway, do you seriously think a major publisher would have a title in a hugely popular franchise would let development get to a point where the game is rating pending in one country and without even announcing it?  Are you frigging kidding me!?  When are you going wake up and smell the bullshit?!

I know that Konami aren't exactly famed for their common sense these days but their is no way even they wouldn't be de dumb enough keep a money in the bank project like this a secret, there would be trailers everywhere!   I can't.... sorry I gotta go again:

    Hi everyone,

The below might sound like complaining - but it's just my explanation of what I am looking for.

I'm looking for an RPG but I'm not sure if it exists (xbox one, ps4, or Switch).

I've tried a lot of games, but unfortunately I haven't found one that was for me.

I'm looking for an RPG that is simple (in terms of use; not how hard or easy it is to beat).

I just a want a game where weapons don't break, I don't have to craft food or magic, I don't have to repair or strengthen my sword or armor, and menus are very simple.

I find all these things the opposite of relaxing / enjoyable - it breaks the fun of enjoying the game - it's just sort of frustrating (as if I had a loose HDMI cable and had to get up every 5 minutes to plug it in firmly again - that's how annoying I find weapons breaking, armor and shields needing repair, gathering berries to craft food, etc...).

I just need a game where they give me one sword, one shield, 3 or so potions (fire, ice, and healing), a simple menu, no training (like the game makes you do a training course to learn how to do combos or fight or whatever - I don't want to have to that), a quest to complete, and send me on my way.

Just give me the basics I need. I don't need the realism (I'm fighting monsters and dragons: I don't need actual realism when it comes to weapon durability).

Any video game suggestions are greatly appreciated.

*I know I'm asking a lot - but the less cartoony the better.

    Thank you

RPG's vary significantly in complexity but I can't think of any that are THIS simplistic, even as far back as the NES.  You expect RPG's to have customisation, weapon options, crafting, skill trees and so on.  These are features that fans of the genre usually want and applaud and you'll be hard pressed finding one that rejects them.

I think you may be looking looking into the wrong genre here, maybe you should into something like a hack and slash instead.  Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, Attack on Titan, God of War, NieR Replicant, Dynasty Warriors, that sorta thing.  A lot of these games have RPG elements but they more simplistic and combat focused.

I know you are looking for a console game but I would recommend having a scroll through Steam's ongoing "Bash Bash" Event to see if anything catches your eye.  You'll find almost all of these titles are on console as well.

    I have a question.

This is a gaming forum. If we can't "chat" about the games then what is the point of posting? I'm just confused. Not mad. Just trying to understand what it is you want us to do? Is there some formal format for a post cuz I don't know how to post without actually chatting about what I'm posting about. That's what a discussion is correct?

I can understand your confusion, you weren't here when these problems were really profound so it might seem like moderators are being a little harsh and controlling.  As someone who was here when it was it worst I promise you their not and it's nothing personal.  The General Gaming and Music sections in particular were a joke, people would just bump the same topics with generic short posts that barely relate to the topic and post the same music tracks and videos over multiple threads over and over.  We literally got the same users making about 30 posts within spans of about 10 minutes multiple times a day.  It made trying to find the most recent legitimate content an absolute nightmare, burying good threads long before their time.

Here in my demographic, we call it 'pure water', I don't see much in that pure water bottled water. When you carry out test on the water filled on the bottled water, you'll see contamination in most of them. I prefer boiling water and drinking it later.

I'm curious to know exactly what you mean by "pure water".  I wouldn't blame anyone for thinking that pure, no additives, PH neutral, biotic free H₂O is the best water to drink, but this couldn't be further from the truth.  You can get this type of water through distillation or a condenser, the type of mechanism often found in de-humidifiers.  If you have one of these you might have noticed that there is usually a warning label that sates that the water collected in the reservoir is not suitable for drinking and with good reason, it's DISCUSTING!

The truth is good drinking water is supposed to be slightly acidic because the saliva in your mouth is slightly alkaline, the "impurities" are sources of nurturance such as minerals and vitamins and many of the bacteria that breed naturally naturally in drinking water are pro-biotec and aid digestion.  Boiling water the allowing to cool is fine but hope for your sake your not drinking condensed "pure" water, it's not doing you any good whatsoever
