  1. Apparently this has all been a misunderstanding.  According to Ubisoft the ESRB and PEGI ratings are pending and expected to be Mature, not Adults Only and their is no "real" gambling in the game.

I know Ubisoft aren't exactly credible but it doesn't make any sense for them to release this game with that rating as it would hurt the sales badly.

First of all this was my post. Second of all since there seems to be such a strict policy on what I can and can't discuss within a thread I think I'm just gonna go ahead leave the site. I can't handle having all my threads nitpicked & being threatened with having my posts deleted. If it's that big of a frickin deal then have at it. I'm done.

What?  He wasn't accusing you and I don't recall you ever doing anything like this.  It's up to you but there's really no need to abandon ship.

  3. Well number one is obviously Trevor Vs Foot...

    Ha HA🤣!!

Ok seriously, my top 5 (in no particular order) would be:

Cloud Strife and Sephiroth (Final Fantasy 7):  I know this one is a bit obvious but I don't you cant include it.  It's personal, deep and the battles are undeniably epic.

Velvet and Artorius (Tales of Berseria):  With you on this one @NightmareFarm.  Deeply personal and compliments the motivations of both extremely well.  I really enjoyed the fact that in many aspects, Velvet is perceivably kind of more the villain of the piece with Artorius being calm and rational and Velvet being reckless and emotional.

Aloy and Sylens (Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbibben West):  This is very different from the typical "Hero Vs Villain" rivalry, it's almost more like student Vs Lecturer.  Aloy needs Sylens' knowledge and experience even she clashes with him constantly to the point where she cant stand him.  As for Sylens, Aloy may the only person who has ever truly challenged him intellectually and he needs that drive.  Even though neither would ever admit it, they need each other their is healthy respect there.

Solid Snake and Liquid Snake (Metal Gear Series):  They are two sides of the same coin yet maybe the only thing they truly have in common is that desire to break that bond.  So predictably sparks fly across multiple titles in the series and it's awesome!

Basch and Gabranth (Final Fantasy XII) (Yep, I'm staling another one from you @NightmareFarm):  I see a lot of similarities between these two and Soild and Liquid snake that I just mentioned.  Cut from the same cloth but when their homeland of Landis fell to the Arcadian empire they took vastly different approaches to deal with it after the fall.  Gabranth, seemingly putting the blame for Landis' fall on his brother joined the Empire.  Basch fled to Dalmasca swear fealty to Protect another Kingdom form Arcadia to restore his honour.  It's part of why, in my opinion, has one has of the best stories in the franchise.

Yeah, he has very creepy and sinister mannerisms. I liked his design it looks very regal. His hair may have been weird but it also looks stylish imo. My only problem is his poorly written motive where people dying causes suffering so his solution is to just kill everyone so no one dies anymore. But on every other front he is a great antagonist. Come to think of it he's kind of like a proto-ardyn when it comes to his role in the plot.

To be honest, as much as I love Final Fantasy X I don't think Seymore was a particularly good villain, especially in hindsight.  His motivations made little sense, he was melodramatic, over the top and even kinda silly at times.

oh it has something wrong with it alright. it can't run anything game wise except candy crush.

If the laptop is otherwise working fine outside gaming their maybe a solution but we need more details.  One probability could be that the laptop deflating to run off the CPU internal graphics instead of the discrete GPU which would explain the poor game performance.  I maybe a power setting that isn't allowing the GPU to pull the power that it needs.  Could be issues with the graphics drivers or the GPU itself.  Windows updates just don't suddenly stop GPU's from working.

The first thing I wold like you to is type dxdiag into the search bar and take screenshots of the system and display Tab(s), they should look something like this:

I bought one a couple years ago. It cost me $1200 on sale and it's now decoration. I won't ever buy another gaming pc again. It was a gaming laptop. It sucks. And Microsoft has totally screwed it up with the updates and the thing can't handle the games.

You have to understand...I don't earn much money. So for me $500 is a helluva lot to spend on something I may not be able to use 10 yrs from now.

If I spent $500 and got 10 years use out of it I would consider that money well spent!

But yeah, as @Shaggersaid a $1200 gaming laptop 2 years old shouldn't be redundant by know unless it's has something wrong with it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, unless an official announcement comes from Konami there are no Silent Hill projects in development.  Although when it comes to Silent Hill the fanbase seem to continue to be wildly over optimistic and have zero capacity to think things reasonably despite rumours of a new entry in the Silent Hill franchise turning out to be false countless times.  They just jump right on the bandwagon over and over again, I don't know what to do anymore.

You know what, let's just be honest here, even if Konami do announce another Silent Hill game, is it REALLY worth getting excited about?  Konami's track record since Kojima left has been, frankly, fucking appalling!  Every game release following MGS5: The Phantom Pain has been a critical and commercial disaster.  Seriously ask yourselves, Do you even want the publisher behind Metal Gear Survive, Contra Rouge Corps and eFootball anywhere near Silent Hill?

Imagine the PC version with mods, people are going to get crazy with their games. You thought seeing Homer and Bart in God of War was one thing, wait until you see what people cook up for the last of us part 1. 😄

Considering how pervy many mods are... I'm a little concerned.  I'm sure their will be some cool stuff as well.  The game was seemingly developed on Havok Engine or at least on Havok Engine Suite so it should be pretty moddable when it comes out on PC.

  11. I remember back when The Last Us Remastered first came out for PS4 there were a lot of the same arguments.  I actually defended that re-release back then because it made the game accessible to a lot of people who were previously on the Xbox 360 and didn't want to waste their money on a PS3 when the PS4 was coming out in less than a year, and I still stand by that.  Now however, I think it's fairly safe to say that player-base gap on consoles has been filled and this PS5 version isn't needed, especially at the price their asking.  The only justification for this that I can see is the PC release which is "coming sometime in the future".  That's a platform where the player base have actually been wanting it and it would be cool to have the potential for mods and stuff.  On PC I would consider it but evenm if I had a PS5 I would still just stick to the remastered version I already have.

I can see some seeing pong as a boring game in some regards, but is it really the worst thing you've played? I understand why people wouldn't like it, but I figure even the Atari version of pong plays fine enough. I imagine it'd be a lot better on an arcade machine though.

i wouldn't have posted it as being the worst game i ever played if it wasn't.

Well it's Pong....  I don't think I'd have much more to say about it.

It's probably just a case of an arcade game moving to consoles being a bad idea. If they don't change anything, then of course it's going to be short. Arcade games to my knowledge are usually made tough so you have to keep spending quarters. So my guess is that the game is a lot shorter than a traditional game, because it wasn't meant to be played on console where you can constantly re-play it.

Is it a port of an actual arcade game? Because if so, it would make sense as to why it's shorter.

There was an arcade unit but only in japan.  I'm not really harping on the game for being short because, like you said, it's in the same ball park in terms of game time as Time Crisis or House of the Dead. I'm harping on it for being shit!

for the sake of perspective I'm going to tell a little story.  I always remember as a kid I was at a holiday park that had an arcade area and in there was as a machine for Time Crisis 2.  I was playing it with one of my brothers and we were doing pretty well.  We'd gotten to maybe half way through where we, inevitably, started to run out of lives and continues.  It wasn't often you see people get this far and by this point a small crowd had gathered around the machine,  I figured it was just some people waiting in line but then, without us asking, some of them actually started to put in money out of their own pocket so we could keep playing!  Thanks to the contributions from our unexpected sponsors we ended up beating the game.  So why did these people pay for someone else to play an arcade machine?  It wasn't because of us, it was because they wanted to see the rest of the game, to know what happens.  I know this because later in the week I saw the same thing happen several times.  That's the mark of great when you can get people even for a short while, that invested in it.

Now @Kane99, I don't really know what the arcade version of Resident Bitch Code 2 Balls X (I can't be bothered to remember the title anymore) was like but I'm going to a wild guess that it didn't get the reaction that I observed with Time Crisis 2.  I mean if you were in an arcade and you watched some play Code Veronica's Zombie Lap dance would you pay to see level 4?  Almost certainly not.  If the arcade was even half decent money maker they'd have surely released it outside Japan.  So fuck Capcom's President's Lively Wasteland Survival Guide, both versions, Hard copy and Paperback!

I was thinking you guys and gals were maybe being unfair to older games because of their older tech. Then I saw the Veronica video and changed my mind. That game looks like it's a ps1 game.Duck hunt had better weapon handling. None of the guns  even have a reticle! It was so bad I couldn't help but watch the whole 28 minute video. The actual game is longer than 30 minutes though right? Just hilariously awful.

Nope, that's the entire arcade mode (campaign)!

This was obviously an experienced player who knew where to go so a first time player would probably be about 45 minutes to an hour. Also there's a secondary survival horde mode that puts you in a gauntlet against waves of enemies but that is still inexcusable.
