StaceyPowers Posted October 21, 2021 Posted October 21, 2021 How do you feel about the gaming convention of the silent protagonist? Do you like the protagonist to be silent as a rule, never silent as a rule, or silent in some types of games but not others?
Head_Hunter Posted October 21, 2021 Posted October 21, 2021 I wouldn't like such either, I love my main game character to be expressing him or herself vividly in the game. Let my character gain the spotlight via dialogue and not just being on the shadows or fringes.
killamch89 Posted October 21, 2021 Posted October 21, 2021 Personally, I'm fine with whatever persona the protagonist has as long as they're well-written.
Justin11 Posted October 22, 2021 Posted October 22, 2021 I simply love my character or protagonist being captured many times by the camera, such is what drives me buying video games because more of the attention will be focused on my own player.
Head_Hunter Posted October 24, 2021 Posted October 24, 2021 I love the game story mode to be centred around my pro player in the game. When I am.woth player career mode, I love it when the story deeply involved my player.
Boblee Posted October 25, 2021 Posted October 25, 2021 Does it really matter the kind of personality the protagonist carries? As long as he or she was about to do what's supposed, I'm good with it.

Laughs, provided it's performing what it's been expected from em then their is no problem at all controlling your favourite protagonist in the game.

I'm an explosive extrovert personality and I also prefer my protagonist to be the same or even any other characters that I'm going to role play.
m76 Posted October 26, 2021 Posted October 26, 2021 I think the only game where it worked because it was a novel idea was the original half-life. In half life 2 it was already detracting from the experience, not adding to it.
Boblee Posted October 26, 2021 Posted October 26, 2021 Personally, I think that the loud protagonist are a lot more fun than the silent quiet ones. Sometimes, the loud ones are very annoying.
Head_Hunter Posted October 26, 2021 Posted October 26, 2021 Yes, when the game is focused mainly on your pro then it brings tremendous gaming experience and not the one that is very much poor and bored due to quiet gameplay and lack of attention to your pro.

Do you think it's worth playing from your experience with it?

I finished Half-Life at least 10 times, and only played HL2 once or twice.

That shows it's almost an irresistible game and far more better than HL2 for you to play it twice.
Head_Hunter Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 It's simply my first time hearing about Half-Life. With the comments I've heard from members, it seems that the video game is simply superfluous.
