Games where you feel the contrast is too high or low

I’m playing The Outer Worlds, and I feel like the contrast is too high, but there is no way to do anything about it. What are some games you have played where you feel the contrast is too high or low?

I can't think of any specific titles off the top of my head at the moment, but a lot of the old stuff had this problem. Games from the Atari 2600, NES, and SNES are the main culprits. They started fixing it around the N64 era, but before then the contrast was a bitch.

I usually don't mess with it, not because I can't be arsed but because it's usually already 'correct'. Sometimes I still have to turn it up a bit though because the designer's idea of dark area sometimes end up being pitch black, I need to at least see something dammit.

Yes, I've noticed that from different set of horror games especially when I played 'silent hill, during my early childhood. The background contrast is low.

They are actually set up in a way that the lighting of the game's setting would be freaky too.

This is quite the reality with most horror games and Silent Hill is one good example.

A perfect ghost town if you would ask me about my views on the trailer setting. It's been a while since I played Silent Hill.
