Which movie(s) have the best sequel?

In my opinion, I would say Rocky, and Halloween. I would go as far as saying Halloween 1, 2, and 4 are all tied, and Rocky 1, 2, 3, AND 4 are all equally good.

What's your take on this? Which movies do you think had great sequels?

I think it's Mortal Kombat 2, on my own opinion. I enjoyed the part two more than the previous edition.

Mickey might have been a whack-job, but he was on point about The Godfather: Part 2. Probably one of the movie sequels that doesn't suck.

I'll also add on a few entries to the list:

• Spider-Man 2
• Toy Story 2
• Captain America: The Winter Soldier
• The Dark Knight
• The Avengers: Infinity War (technically a triquel that doesn't suck)
• The Empire Strikes Back and The Two Towers don't really count in Randy's book in Scream 2 because he said they were part of a "planned trilogy," meaning filmed back-to-back instead of being separate productions/movies
• Logan (more like a requel, but still kinda counts)
• X-Men 2 for original X-trilogy or Days of Future Past for reboot trilogy
• Evil Dead II

I would definitely say that Scream, Halloween, Friday the 13th all have the best sequels as far as horror movies go.

As far as slasher flicks go, Nightmare On Elm Street is number one for me.

Batman and Batman Returns are also on the list.

As for when I was a kid, TMNT (the originals) was also great.

As for kids now, Shrek was really good.

Also, anything involving Minions is great.

Terminator 2 is the best non trilogy sequel. There's also Childs Play 2, which is better than the first.

I got to see the sequel of  365 days recently and though it isn't the best sequel but it came with a lot of plot twist to keep you eager and expectantly waiting for another sequel.
