    You could try this one:

Or try one of your favorite animals. I have a few other antique emojis (or as they were called back then: emoticons/smilies) that I can upload if you're interested.

My vote is for one of our newer members @Grungie. Not gonna lie, it's unlikely that you'll agree with everything he has to say, but with the amount of thought for quality and foresight and the amount of himself he puts into what he posts, that warrants respect. So despite a couple of rough moments in these early stages, I'm glad to see him here.

It's hard to explain, but I felt like this forum needed you @Grungie, so welcome.

This is the official Member of the Month - June 2022 Nominations Thread. The winner will receive 500 VGR Forum Points which can be used in Bid for Rewards.
Member of the Month is generally awarded to the individual who had the biggest impact on the VGR Forum. This is generally in the form of contributing the most amount of posts in terms of quantity and/or quality, but can extend to referrals/promotion and other efforts to benefit the community.
You only nominate 1 member and you cannot nominate yourself. @Yaramaki won May MOTM and thus is not eligible for this month.
Nominations end June 30 at 10pm EST then a new thread will be created for voting. Please keep all thread replies strictly to nominations - no anecdotal discussions/comments.

All the time, it's why I frequently critique games for being too long. Especially in today's market, too many games go for too long without helping realise the developers' artistic vision, be it publisher pressure to monetise and market it, or the lack of an editor/compromise with an editor who will make the necessary calls to trim it down to its best parts. That's usually single-player games though. Multiplayer games like World of Warcraft have me take huge breaks because I have the time to do the content, but it's 'gated', meaning the game will not let me progress even though I'm available to do it. For all this "always online" business, games sure want me to be online less and less.
I wish I could tell you when gameplay took a backseat for retention, but I fear that goes back further than I'd like it to (see arcade machines).

Anybody else had this problem where even if you have the time to sit down and play games for a couple of hours you just don't feel like doing? I'm going trough such a phase right now i think, played watch dogs 2 and legion back to back probably shoulden't have done that, i started playing trough the story of the "next gen" version of gta 5  and  play a mission or two i just shut the game off and do something else, while it's still one of the best games ever made i'm not really feeling it right now. I don't know what the problem is with this kind of weather i much rather go out hiking whenever i possible can which is my other main hobby. I got burned out on collecting video games a few times where i take a break from buying anything for a few months but with gaming i never really had this problem.
I'm currently installing civilization vi as i haven't played an rts in ages, in hopes it gets me stoked again on gaming.

She gave life a good run and left it at 92. We are sad for losing her. May her soul rest in peace.

I only uninstall a game only if and when the Flying Spaghetti Monster tells me too.

It just so happens that he only commands me to do so when I'm done with a game or if I need the space, but that's just because he is wise.

DC reacted to Shagger in Do you usually blackout when playing games?
I think we have got to a point in this thread where all that needed to be said has been said. To summarise, if anyone is blacking out, getting dizzy, disorientated, headaches or anything of the sort whilst playing games, stop immediately and take a break. If it's a persistent and/or recurring problem seek medial advice. I've never been a fan of people posting medical advice on a public form, especially one where the members are almost certainly not qualified to offer a professional opinion. Because of that and the fact this thread had run it's course and can only serve to repeat itself, I'm locking this. @Icefrost, I know I speak for all of us at VGR when I say we hope this final reply finds you well.

@Yaramaki I understand your suggestion. I am going to brainstorm a solution where users who have made X amount of MEANINGFUL posts and/or have been a member at VGR for X amount of time period have the ability to edit posts for more than 10 minutes. Basically this feature would only be available to those who are considered valued contributors of the forum (which I would categorize you in).

There's enough people on here who don't speak English as a first language, but still post legibly albeit with some errors. Sadly, there is also enough people who post content that's hard to understand because they don't care and are only interested in getting as many posts done as possible. Let me tell you from experience it is very easy to tell the difference.

Posts that you and the other members is who don't speak English as a first language are still understandable. A few minor grammatical errors and spelling mistakes isn't going to bug anyone. It is perfectly acceptable and isn't actually what makes there "other" people's post hard to read. It's more about thier post being structured badly and convoluted because it's the act of someone typing in a rush. The act of someone who hasn't thought it through and obviously doesn't proof read anything before posting it. I believe that you make fantastic posts, and you do, because you take your time. Just because the reason you take your time is because of language difficulties, doesn't change the positive effect it has. Hell, even as a native English speaker I can take just as long as you on a post because I'm a horrible typist and make errors all the time, but taking the time I need to get it good enough, just like you do, helps a great deal. You should have seen the mess this very post would have been if I hadn't gone back... twice.

I know you're disappointed that your request didn't gather the support you hoped in this this early stage (Ultimately, it's up to @DC, not me or anyone else, so you should not get discouraged anyway), but I can't be anything else but honest and I think that this is a fix for something that isn't broken. Give yourself a little credit, like I said the quality of the content you put on VGR from the very start has been superb. I could be convinced to champion for the edit window to be extended a little bit, maybe to 15 minutes, but I can't get behind 30 minutes, I'm sorry.

*sigh takes deep breath and shakes head in disbelief and bashes hand on the table*
Man why do i keep bothering everithing i suggest just gets slammed anyway, so yet again people who are serious about their posts are getting the middle finger because they want a little more time to perfect their posts all because yet again those so called shit posters who feel the need to make 500+ posts a month.
Don't get this the wrong way but english is not my first language grammar mistakes happen, you may not believe me but some of my posts take me half an hour or more, the least i could get is half an hour the time to edit any mistakes i made along the way.
I could start posting in dutch, french or japanese if you want, maybe then somebody will realise how hard it is to speak/write in multiple languages without making spelling errors.

Ever have a game or a TV show that you remember playing or seeing, but just can't remember what it was called? Well, maybe we can help.

Describe a thing in media that you remember playing or seeing, and maybe people can guess what its name is.

We do have a Cryptocurrency thread for this topic right here. You guys can discuss it there but if you want to get started in Crypto, Bitcointalk is one of the oldest and most reliable places to start. You can find detailed explanations on Cryptocurrency. That's how I became somewhat knowledgeable of Crypto.

The forum's looking a lot cleaner and discussion is far easier to take part in now that the cliques have been mopped up. I look forward to finally being able to rejoin conversation rather than derailing one that's gone on for pages. It's not nice to see full pages of "you've chosen to ignore content from [x]," and I'm glad to see those running the place agree.
I hope this message becomes loud and clear to any would-be points farmers that think this place is easy pickings. For now though, I commend the admin and moderation crew for making the tough - but absolutely necessary - calls to get rid of those users who had been frequently warned.
All of this said, getting back to the original point: there is still room for a chat box or casual message space (see DarkSpyro's walls, etc.). This may well be the prevention before the cure that's needed. Otherwise, my feedback in other thread still stands. I appreciate that it's been acted upon.

I must confess that I was very shocked when I got your PM because I never saw that coming. For a little time I have been here, @Shaggerhave only asked me once to rewrite one of my post as it wasn't clear for easy understanding which I did. Since then, I haven't gotten an warnings or directions on how to get my posting right.
But in everything, I take your update from the PM in good faith and I will try my best to always write something meaningful whenever I'm here.
@Shaggerplease always feel free to put me through whenever you see the need to. I appreciate that and your help the last time.

We do our best to keep conversations interesting, engaging, and clear for all who choose to take part in said conversation. But issues arise with some choosing to post nonsensical replies, that (quite often) have nothing to do with the topic at hand. Some members are worse at this than others. We also understand that English is not everyone's first language. We absolutely do take that into consideration when dealing with part of the community. Language barriers can often have a large impact on how someone responds. But others seem to simply not care. Those are the main problem members that we are forced to deal with. We try to be as fair as possible, but sometimes we simply can't do it anymore as it becomes completely pointless. Not because we give up, but because the member in question refuses to listen after multiple warnings.
So take this to heart: make sure you have read the initial post for the thread and know what the OP is talking about. Read through the replies. And above all, make sure you know what you're talking about when you reply.

    All,
I am working on some changes to address the above issues. Jasmin, Boblee, & Head-Hunter posting abilities have been permanently disabled.
Heatman has been asked to take much needed 'cooling' off from VGR. I will temporarily disable his posting abilities if my instruction is not followed.
I've sent firm PMs to Clasher, Dannyjax, & Aniekwe but have not yet taken action. I am giving them a chance to make a change and will be monitoring closely along with @The Blackangel and @Shagger
As always, we look to the community for feedback. @Withywarlock @kingpotato @killamch89 @Yaramaki @Reality vs Adventure @Crazycrab etc etc
Thanks for your patience and continued support of VGR.
