Has anyone here ever won an esports tournament? I have never tried myself, but I think if I had the skills and money to enter one, I would at least give it a try. If you won a tournament, how much did you end up winning? What place did you land? And what game was it for?

I think that's because of the limitations in Skyrim, because it was a big game. You have to cut corners somehow, and character animations probably are the less important thing to worry about. Especially, considering how big the game is. It is relatively small compared to the bigger picture. But, I would welcome better animations for future games for sure.

This is great news. Now here's hoping that EA doesn't screw us over by adding in microtransactions and other junk into this. I could easily see EA trying to push for some online mode with microtransactions and loot boxes. Just wait and see, EA could ruin this remaster and a future game.

Yeah, for the most part they're pretty unresponsive. But sometimes you will get the dev who interacts with his/her fans and followers. And I love seeing that openness in the community.

I originally was thinking of using an old PC case, from like windows 95 days. The only issue is, I was unsure if the motherboard and other peripherals wouldn't fit right. I think if I ever decide to build a new PC and have money to throw away, I'll build in an old case. At least that way, no one would steal if it I ever get robbed lol.

There are many options when it comes to gamepads for your PC. I normally just use an Xbox One controller, or a Xbox One Power A pro controller. Works wonders. You can also buy USB controllers in the styles of many popular gamepads. There are a lot of cheap USB controllers on the market as well if you want to save some cash.

When it comes to your gaming PC, do you like to have it in a nice fancy case? Or do you want to just keep it in a simple, yet practical case? I currently have a simple Cougar PC case that is black and grey. I'll have to take a picture of my desk one of these days when it's cleaned up. Anyway, discuss what kind of case you use for your PCs. Also, sometimes I feel using an old case is fun. Put in a good PC in a crappy old case. A good way to surprise people. 😄

Is it just me, or is cover art super boring these days? I mean, most games I see these days, have mediocre covers. I just wish they did what movies did, by getting creative, maybe utilize art for the cover, or have a minimalist cover. I'm just tired of seeing all the images of dudes with guns looking angry at the camera. It's just lazy and boring. This is why I like Rockstars games covers. Like GTA has that distinct cover that all of their GTA games have. And even Bully, L.A. Noire had good covers. What do you guys think though? Are there some really awful covers? What are some of your favorite game covers?

🙂 That's cool! My father isn't much of a drinker these days, kind of put it behind himself, but I could try to get him to try some games. There's a ton of games that I could get him to play that would be easy even for him.

Minecraft in a way yes, but I think when it comes to the city builder genre, it doesn't really fit. When I see city builders, I see stuff like SimCity, where you have to build literal cities. Sure you could do this in Minecraft, but it's not necessarily a city builder in the same regard. I hope I'm not confusing anyone.

I think the reason it had this stigma, was because of the industries start. Gaming was a toy back when it first started, so that mentality kind of stuck for future games, even though the medium has grown and progressed since the days of retro gaming. Back then it was meant to be for kids, for the most part, but adults found joy in games too. These days, games are made for a wide range of age groups and diversities. True, but you could argue that everything starts off expensive when it's a new thing. It's why 4K TVs for example started off so expensive, but now they're getting to the point where I can get 4K TVs for cheap these days.

They may not switch, but they will likely support both, as it gives them the opportunity to make money from all sides. That's why some games on Epic, are also available on Steam. But I know Epic wants the games on their platform to be exclusive to them, and I don't really like that idea. True, you can find software, soundtracks and they even sell movies as well from what I remember.

I don't know if that's the case, but I suppose it's always a possibility. I mean, I could see Capcom lying, just like any other game studio of that size. But I don't see Capcom really needing to do something like that to collect some insurance, so idk how that would even work.

When a problem comes up in a game, do you tend to contact the developers about it? Maybe you file a bug report, or an issue with the game. Have you ever reached out to the main developer? I ask, because I know some developers are more open with their fans, and will even take tips and suggestions. I contacted the devs for Layers of Fear, and they were pretty responsive. I haven't contacted any other developers outright though. Did you ever get in a heated argument with a developer for sharing your thoughts?

When new consoles come out, do you trade in your old consoles to make up some money to get them? I have only done so once, and it was more for the 360 slim. I had dealt with 5 Xbox 360 repairs, and decided to trade my last repaired console and my games to get a slim. I also sold off most of my other games from other consoles, which I still regret to this day. These days I have no need to get the new consoles right away. I'm going to wait a year or two at least before I buy any new consoles. So, do you trade or sell your console to get the new one? or not?

The new Xbox controller I believe is now out, or is being shipped to people who pre-ordered. Anyway, the new controller will work with the Xbox One consoles as well as the new consoles. The difference from what I can see, is that they changed the dpad to match more what the elite controller has, and also has a more textured feel, as well as a share button now. I like the Xbox One controller, and the new one is pretty much the same thing. Plus, you can use old Xbox One controllers on the new consoles. I like that they give you the option. I wish more consoles were backwards compatible with old controllers. Anyway, did anyone here get the new controller? How are you liking it so far? I was going to preorder one, but decided not to, as I need to save my cash at the moment.

Basically what the title says. Have you ever got a family member or friend who wasn't into video games at all, but got them into playing them and maybe even liking them? My dad for example is not tech savvy at all. In fact, he rarely touched video games or computers. The only tech I'd say he's familiar with is mostly using a VCR. But, last Christmas I ended up getting my dad a tablet, and he now uses the thing a ton to play 8 ball pool against my mom. In the past he was always against it, and never understood why people play them. Now he can't get enough of it. Just wish I could get him to try games on consoles instead, but I highly doubt he will ever do that. Though he did say he was interested in trying VR. So that should be fun! 😄

I got a pair of Raycons, they work wonderfully well, but I'm not sure I'd really use them for gaming. I mean, I suppose you could, but the mic isn't the greatest. But, I suppose I could always change the mic input to my main mic. I might give it a try.

I remember when Roger Ebert was still alive (film critic), he blasted video games as not being art. I think this was around the time Metal Gear Solid 3 came out, which I consider to be very artistic. I don't get why some people hate on games so much. Games are art too, just like the movies. Just wait until the next 10 years or so. Games are going to look so pretty!

Too many times to count. I'm a night owl most nights, so I tend to stay up fairly late, usually gaming, or watching YouTube. I'll sometimes pass out and wake up like 4 or 5 in the morning. I then just jump into bed from there. 😄 But yeah, I do most of my gaming at night anyway.

Nice. I think I sold my copy of FF8 some years ago. I kind of wish I didn't, because I wouldn't mind re-playing it again. Same with FF7, I sold that to a friend. Anyway, nice on the amount of memory cards. Back then we kind of needed a ton of memory cards. I only had one for the longest time. Deleting my saves was a pain to do sometimes, but I had to make room. 😞

To be expected, and how nice, he's only charging $925 lol. People are getting their pre-orders in, and they probably figure they could get a decent profit from selling them. I bet Ebay is full of listings for PS5 and Xbox consoles right now, some going well over $1000. It happens for every new console release sadly. 😞

Not really interested in any mobile games, but thank you for the suggestion. And by hunting, I mean animals for the most part, like hunting deers, bears, and other exotic animals, but in game form of course. I know of cabela's offerings, but I don't know of any other studio making hunting games. For some reason I'm in the mood for a hunting game.

Hands down it's a scam. That's 23 minutes of people spending their money in the hopes of getting one player, who wasn't even possible to get for the first 23 minutes. These companies are super greedy and are hoping people will spend a ton on these loot boxes. I can't wait until the US calls this what it is, which is gambling, and fines these companies for pushing it on kids and teens.
